Hello from New Jersey. I am sorry to hear that contractors and even a family friend took advantage of your situation. However, I am a firm believer that everything comes to full circle. If you give love, you will get love in return. If you (not talking about you, but in general) take advantage of someone (be it friend or foe), you will be taken advantage of by someone else. I do not look for revenge on those that do wrong, because I feel that what you sow is what you reap. Look at what happened with you. Those people did what they did to you, but in the end, you wound up with the biggest blessing. You were able to quit your 9 to 5, and work at what you love the most. In a nut shell, people's wrong doings will always find them out in the end. However, one more advice, if I may, please. Once you see that these people finally pay for what they've dish out to you, or anyone else, for that matter, it's not good to celebrate their misfortune.
