Both team played well, it was an amazing and grazy game. I think everybody enjoyed. I am happy that iraq is the winner. We need joy...we need something to celebrate in Iraq. Even in ISIS areas are people celebretaing now, even our army is celebrating! one day of happines...we deserved that. Goodluck iran, you have a great team.
Most of the people on this video commenting bad about Iran are not Iraqi. Iraqi people are fair and good people. brothers iran and iraq, let the world see the true enemy of human life...
Iran deserved to win! They have an amazing heart. It was great to see how they stood up again and again. In the end, everything was resolved in the lottery of penalties. A shame, I feel very sad for them. Today has not won the best. Greetings from a Chilean lover Iran!
Honestly, as a South Korean, Iran is the team that we don't wanna fight against, cause it's basically a bit stronger team than Korea and Japan. Lucky we would not meet Iran. This will make an easier way for SK to go to final hopefully.
As an european who was neutral about this game i must give my compliments for both teams for this passionate fight. Iraqis you can be proud of the win and a passionate game. Iranian people you can be proud of an endless fight at the edge of physical possibilities. It was an amazing game, thank you both for that. These are the fights i'd like to see more from the middle east.
Explain why did they 'deserve' to win. There players dived and the Iraq was playing better. The game was close but we took it get over it. Iranians getting happy that they got to the world cup Ha we will beat you.
It's so pitty to see Iran is Out Ben Williams is most suspicious refree I've ever seen in Asia Anazing and extraordinary game most beutiful game in Asian cup 2015 untill now Congrate Iraq Proud to be supporter of Team Melli Iran , they show their class until last second But you could never win against refree ,that is general rule in sport
yasss Watch all game again he was very kind to Iraq and listen to the comment of Mark Bosinc the former player of Australian national team who condemn the refree. Its not my woords just wait you hear more about him in future for sure By the way read one more time your comment to understand how civilized are you and compare with my comment ,end of disscussion.
Your little dope player scandal turned out to be bullshit and the referee was fair stop crying and grow up. Your player kicked our goalkeeper then dived. Kicking the goalkeeper is dangerous play and he deserved that red card. Get over it
That wasn't fair, the referee killed Team Melli. We played 95 minutes with 10 players and this is the best proof of our high football level. However I wish for Iraq to be champion after this because they deserve it and further more I personally don't like to see one of the other three teams ( Australia, South Korea and UAE) become champion. God bless us
Am from iraq and is true the deserved to win Iran but iraq get lucky 🍀 and the win but I will tell you your them Iran was on fire the was amazing I love Iran!! The show us how to fire for your country amazing play Iran
Congratulations Iraq. Well hard fought and well earned game. As Korean-American, I was supporting Iraq because I will never forget 1993 when Iraq tied with Japan to knock Japan out of the World Cup qualifications while clinching Korea to the World Cup. We owe you big time. And as American, I am sorry for what my country has done to yours. Good luck against us and even if Korea loses to Iraq, I won't feel bad bcz at least we didn't get knocked out by Japan, Iran, or Australia. I will support Iraq if Korea loses and Iraq goes to finals. Let's have a friendly semifinal game.
***** LMFAO, where in my comment have I wrote anything to slander Iranians/Persians? Did you even read my comment? I supported Iraq bcz of how they helped us qualify by tying with Japan to knock them out of World Cup qualifications while clinching Korea to the World Cup 1994. I actually respect Iran soccer, especially after you guys got Carlos Queiroz to reform. I'm actually fan of some of Iranian footballers, such as Mehdi Rahmati who unfortunately didn't get along with Queiroz but I like the fact that he brought all talented Persian players from different parts of the world around to reinforce and bolster the team, such as Reza Ghoochanejaad and Ashkan Dejagah, even MLS players like Steven Beitajour. As much as Iran is our far distance rivals, I respect Iran football. I even hated 2013 and 2014 Korean team and felt that they deserved fist gesture from Carlos Queiroz after what that fucktard coach Choi Kwang Hee said to you guys since I would've done the same thing if I was Iranian/Persian.
Many thanks to Team Melli for playing such an intense game, and not relenting for one minute. It was a joy to be at the stadium, and experience the full gamut of emotions. Clearly, the ref was below par and had a score to settle against Iran. The bravery of the Iranian players, in fighting back again and again with 10 men, against an opposing side of 12 will live long in the memory as an example of passionate Persian pride. Pathetic souls like Williams have no place adjucating such immense games. The Asian Cup has reunited Iranians and I thank each and every one of them who went home with hoarse throats. Sad as it was, our love for the motherland is alive and well.
That was one of the worst refereeing calls I've witnessed in my entire life. If the ref realized he made a mistake and forgot about the first yellow-card, he should have the authority to un-do his second yellow card. Being 1-man down changed the game immensely and it was obvious in how the Iranian team played from that point. I hope this game can be closely reviewed and the refs can learn from this mistake for the future, because Iran just got robbed.
Ben Williams knew Iran will win against South Korea and meet Australia in the final. That is why he whistled against Iranian team. He paved the way to Australia to win the cup. Iran was the only team that would cause them problem in the final. Football fans are proud of Iran that with 10 men played 120 minutes with a referee who was against them, still took the game to the penalty shoot, which doesn't guarantee that the better team will win. Japan also lost to a weaker team today by penalty. Well done Iranian team and his coach.
Iran now goes home. But as you return I would like to say thank you Iran for coming and entertaining not only the Iranian fans, but all football fans here in Australia. And to the Iranian fans, you have helped make this tournament a very good specticle. To Iraq, good luck. C'mon Socceroos :-)
Best match of the tournament by far. Poor referring decision cost Team Melli the match. Realized how strong the "never say die" mentality of this current Iranian team is. Glad the Socceroos doesn't have to face you guys. Team Melli has earned a lot of new fans and respect with this performance. Best of luck with your future matches.
***** With all respect: Either watch more football (soccer) to see more from other players, or switch to cricket. Too much from someone who hates something!!
As we all know williams is an Australian ref and as an Australian, I felt that was not a deserved red card. Having said that, it is actually well within the refs rights to penalise fake dives which let's face it, is exactly what happened. The goalkeeper should have been penalised too though. Both teams put all their heart into this game and produced one of the most exciting matches i've watched in the AFC. Well done to both countries
Congratulations to Iraq and Iraqi people you deserve it. very Good job, especially in the hard situation you country is going through in these days! Hope for peace and progress for Iraq. And hope that the victury can help to bring more unity among iraqi people! From Afghanistan.
Iran and Iraq showed great passion and soul ... they looked like a team of friends having a serious game of soccer They were All In It ! I Loved watching this they were All Great Athletes Well Done ... Great Match ! :D
Awful call on the red card, a truly deplorable decision that put incredible pressure on Iran to produce from set pieces, which they did in remarkably dramatic fashion. An amazing performance by both of these remarkable countries, one of the most exciting, dramatic and heart breaking matches I have seen in recent years, will be remembered as the most exciting match in Asian Cup history for years to come.
for people saying that dude doesn't deserve a yellow card then you are stupid.. If you understand the soccer/football rules then you should know that you should not get in contact with a goalie after he catches it... You can see that the goalie caught the ball first and the player could have either jumped or avoided it, he had enough time to jump or leave the ball... no excuses, the referee was fair the whole game...
Former Socceroos striker John Aloisi claims Canberra referee Ben Williams held a grudge with Iran coach Carlos Queiroz, while ex-Australian goalkeeper Mark Bosnich labelled the controversial sending off in Friday night's quarter-final against Iraq at Canberra Stadium as "embarrassing". Aloisi - who has played and coached in games involving Williams during his time with Melbourne Heart - said Williams should have realised he had earlier given Pooladi a yellow card when he reached into his pocket for a second time. "For me, that's bad refereeing because he should know who he's booked and the situation that he's in," Aloisi told Fox Sports. "We talk about using common sense and he didn't [use it]. "I think Queiroz criticised him in the first game against Bahrain and Williams has held a grudge. "I've coached in games and I've also played in games [that he has refereed]. "One of the things we would say to each other is always praise Ben Williams, because as soon as you criticise Ben Williams, he's going to go against you. "If you praise him enough, he might go for you." Bosnich said he couldn't explain the send-off. "The two most embarrassing decisions [of the Asian Cup] are that one and the penalty that Ben Williams gave to Saudi Arabia against Uzbekistan the other day for what [Vitaliy] Denisov did," Bosnich told Fox Sports. "To send him off like this is absolutely ridiculous. "I was in as much shock as the Iranians were."
really exciting game, but the asian cup is shit now without iran and japan. iraq can barely beat iran with one man up, gonna be really hard for them to take out s korea. i don't think uae can ride their luck and beat australia either. hopefully i'm wrong.
Some great drama and intense game! Loved it. If only belgium could display even a fraction of the heart these two teams played with I would be so happy
Asia couldn't break Iran's defense, so the AFC (Asian Football Confederation) got the job done by nominating Benjamin Williams to referee this quarterfinal match. Sepahan had an ineligible player (Rahman Ahmadi) in the 2011 AFC Champions League vs Qatar's Al Sadd. Iran suffered. Iran's U-22 team had an ineligible player in the 2012 Summer Olympic Qualifiers away match against Iraq. Iran suffered. Benjamin Williams is elected to referee this match and unfairly sends off Iranian LB Mehrdad Pouladi. FIFA confirms the positive result of the Iraqi player's doping before game. Guess what? Iran suffers. It is 100% evident that the Asian Football Confedertion did not want Iran to face South Korea in the semi-final, and therefore did not want Iran to have any chance of becoming the Asian champions in 2015.
if it wasn't for the ref fucking it up Iran would've had a comfortable win here. no way any given reasonable referee sends players off like that. there'd be red cards flying around then. he just fucked it up and he knew it. He knew it i tell you! aussies were no good...
How good are the Iranians at headers.....All 3 goals scored from a header......I really wanted to see Iran vs South Korea in the Semis, how epic would that have been......
Ignoring the result and the referee debate, the match was definitely the most exciting match I've seen in Asian Cup 2015 so far. Can't wait to see the semi-finals now. Also, Younis(I believe that was his original name), great captain and player and he went full 120min! The guy still has it in him to lead the Iran team.
Wow what a shocker. I was sure Iran would win. Amazing game. With Iraq and the UAE in the semifinals. I kinda wish China and Uzbekistan would win their matches too and then we've would of had an underdog Asian cup winner. South Korea and Australia are shaking now.
Guys come down. Am an iraqi I love Iranians but at the end it's just a stupid soccer game. Yes the referee made a horrible descion in which I was really surprised the iranian player was sent of, but that's football we have seen horrible decisions happen in the World Cup, champions league and europea. Cup. Iraq has a big chance to lose against South Korea anyways. I hope we just don't fight and curse each other over a stupid tournament that no channel would even broadcast !!
Great game. I'm from Barcelona and Barça's fan, but this morning I enjoyed watching this game.
One of the most entertaining game of the tournament for sure... most dramatic too! Incredible!
Wow, what a game and what a crowd, I've never seen Canberra Stadium light up like that!
The game is so intensified, probably the most dramatic game in this year
What a great game!!
One of the greatest football matches ever played. Put aside the differences.
Anybody who thinks Iraqis hate Persians is absolutely wrong. In fact majority of Iraqis love Iranians, they are the best. viva Iraq/Iran.

IRAN! FULLY DESERVED TO WIN THAT GAME
What did Iraq lack? they got their penalty shots in and played their game
Explain why did they 'deserve' to win. There players dived and the Iraq was playing better. The game was close but we took it get over it. Iranians getting happy that they got to the world cup Ha we will beat you.
Congrats to our Iraqi Team, all the best to the Iranian team. Both played well, what a game. :)

The lost from Iraq is really painful. We didn't deserve to lose.

Hope you can deal with this sham. What a disgrace.
Good job #TeamMelli.
epic game, I don't know but Iran player shouldn't be red off, but the penalty in extra time was correct....what a game for two

Former Socceroos striker John Aloisi claims Canberra referee Ben Williams held a grudge with Iran coach Carlos Queiroz, while ex-Australian goalkeeper Mark Bosnich labelled the controversial sending off in Friday night's quarter-final against Iraq at Canberra Stadium as "embarrassing".

Aa Congratulations to the Iraqi team and win the cup, Lord
wth people keep talking about politics over such an epic game. it is absolutely one of the best overtime games.
Lions of Mesopotamia are the best in Asia
Ignoring the result and the referee debate, the match was definitely the most exciting match I've seen in Asian Cup 2015 so far. Can't wait to see the semi-finals now.
Also, Younis(I believe that was his original name), great captain and player and he went full 120min!
The guy still has it in him to lead the Iran team.
on of the best games ever
Go Iraq well deserved after a crazy match ❤️
IRAN 0 - 1 Ref
The goal keeper was crazy for Iraq
Congratulations to the referee. The Australian Ben Williams. Australia defiantly has a good chance to win the cup now.
No one realise that Iran played with 10 man for 80 min and scoring 2 goals
