Actually that is a replica of the graves, the actual graves are exactly under the two above. Earlier the above structure used to be a circular walkaway with a grill in the middle from where people could see the actual graves below down. People used to throw money like notes or coins down, idk just to make prayers or something. I know this because I saw it like that back in 2005 or 06.

The very first (and only) time I visited Taj Mahal I was awestruck looking at the Taj Mahal from the entrance gate. Its a magnificent building made with precision and artistry that is unparalleled. But more majestic and humbling is the kingdom of God where His children are given inheritance to things that are everlasting. Where there is no separation of gate ticket or entry queues to the kingdom because all become equal there.

You should visit my state, Goa. While most of India was under British rule, Goa was placed under Portuguese rule so the culture, food and music is a mix of European Portuguese and Indian. Many elderly people of Goa still speak Portuguese in fact. There are also the Portuguese forts such as Cabo de Rama, Reis Magos and Betul. Come visit sometime.
