The way the Representative describes Noontide/Monolith soldiers really hits home how dark this path is. We see through the eyes of Strider the horror of waking up after the Monolith’s control was broken. Every one of them was a victim. Yet the Representative doesn’t even feel the need to justify C-Consciousness’s actions. They aren’t even slaves to C-Consciousness, they aren’t even human, they are literal tools. Why justify using a hammer to hit a nail?
for me the funniest thing is they're all talking to a hologram while standing next to a huge psi-radiation generator... you only go with scar if you ignore logic, and then pay the price at the end, may the blind dogs have a good night snack of Skif.
there is no solid proof that c-consciousness does not exist there. but its obviously that their goal is a stupid fairytale which ending we see helping scar

Well, illusions as deception do not speak to you with such self-awareness and provide information you do not know. Too much interactive for a program. Too much aware and knowledgeable for "personal" self-induced illusion. I tend to think subtle matter indeed exists - as both interaction with Strider and C-con representative displays something on the other side. Not just your imagination. In that case psi-generator is just a modem of sorts. However "other side" is not full of Shining and butterflies, as Scar tends to believe (and Skif, if he goes Scar's way). But pretty much with same human flaws and emotions they had in living. Including "dark" which C-con initially wanted to remove, yet they became that "dark" themselves.
This is Scar ending right? Sooo, Am I the only one who feels that C-consciousness just bamboozles you? They talk all this about how the Ward and Sircaa is bad and want total control (sort of true) and how their alternative is gonna save everyone and this is the right thing to do etc. While in reality it just places the zone inhabitants into the matrix essentially while the real world in the zone is as bleak and awful as it always have been.
Yeah, it seems they just crank the psi-influence to 11 for everybody to live in a simulation. We'll see what the 2 story DLCs will deliver us lore-wise
@@beefestrogen5276I don't think the Zone can be destroyed. Even the SIRCAA ending where the Colonel seemingly destroys the Zone is a false memory implanted in Skif. If all 7 C-Conciousness scientists couldn't do it, than there's no way a single man could, no matter their mental fortitude.
Scar was an agent of C-consciousness after all. Then they used him as a vessel for Marshall, who started the Shining. The whole shining is but another c-consciousness project to gather an army of puppets to use at their will.
I'm with Dalin, the C Consciousness should be destroyed. No one should have control over emotions. Anger much as it's usually bad has a rightful place in the world. You cannot have goodness without understanding evil.
Knowing the Scar ending and the shinning being fake, what is that then ? The hologram is a real one or a illusion ? Those scientist are still alive in the noosphere or dead ? I don't get it
What is a hologram then? It is an illusion that is to fool people into Shining project. The questioning test is useless because the illusion can scan your brain for answers. It makes you see and hear what you want to see, just like the whole shining. Either c-consciousness don't exist anymore and was their last project, or this is the way they manipulate the people from the subtle matter. Either way, it is just another psi trick.
I think its more like it merged the physical world with noosphere where they coexist Like all the zombiefied stalkers being able to converse with dead stalkers existing in the noosphere It technically is a form of immortality and being able to speak with the dead but at a price of being in the mind prison I personally like this ending much more than for example skifs ending which ends basucally in a global apocalypse
You played carelessly. Scar is an agent of O-Consciousness, he deceived the people who are with him and the main character. And the ending confirms this. But the question remains: if the members of O-Consciousness were killed, then who controls this whole process. This is a mystery. And now I thought about the plot of the movie "Oblivion" where an alien species that has taken over the earth for resources poses as humans.
Still, I wonder if noosphere phenomenas are sentient. I guess c-consciousness itself is not sentient, but "nearly" alive like somewhere between amoeba and computer virus. And Strider/Topol/whatever you can see via cartridges are just copies of their mind that can't create something new, but still can make a good enough impression like LLM or "chineese room".
Hello, can we cut off the path to certain locations or unblock them by making important choices? How to play to see all the locations in the game in one cycle?
After playing the og’s and this one, im starting to get tired about these mf’s. Everything is a psi hollogram and they keep insisting about inducing everyone to an illution I just want an ending where you can nuke the zone and destroy it totally.
This game story line is weird, I was side with Strolok and killed the general, Dalin asked the hologram the same question but the hologram didn’t answer, so Dalin believe the c consciousness is fake and destroyed it. Base on the first cutscene seems like the c consciousness is real but base on my game play the c consciousness I don’t understand why is my decision about who am I siding with will change the answer of c consciousness is just a record and replay.
Because your decisions affects mental state of Dr. Dalin. And mental state of Dr. Dalin affects how illusion reacts to him. It's not real, the psy projections only shows and tells you what you want to hear. That's the Shining project.
Well, this is sort of an interesting move to make the lore more intriguing. Came to this video while searching for the same answers and didn't understand this aspect as well. Still I can't remember other games where such a crucial lore moment depends on who you side with. But I think I like this concept, maybe we'll get more clarification in the DLCs or just from the devs
It's simple - the hologram pretends to be a mindless cast of consciousness in the Strelok storyline because the main character is hostile towards the C-Consciousness. What's the point of the hologram revealing its plans to him? besides, Skif did not finish off the C-Consciousness, but only destroyed the device through which they could contact the real world
The cutscenes are different because the perspective of Skif changes depending on who you side with. If you side with Shining - you give Dalin a bit more time because you don't want him to destroy the thing, and the illusion works by tricking him into believing that it is his father. Scar comes in. If you're not with Shining - you don't hesitate to help Dalin shut down and destroy the facility. No Scar preaching. That's the difference in paths. Btw Ward's path has an opposite perspective on the events that happened, it's interesting after you saw what's like not siding with them.
Scar ending is basically dedicated Monolith ending, like in Shadow of Chernobyl. Funny. You'd think Scar is some kind of profound madman, but he is in fact just a delusional madman. And you're delusional for trusting his bullshit. Love the subversion.
@@rosgoncharuk2403 agreed. ward is the most sane ending to me, zone is destroyed and skif gets what he wants. ig your life is under surveillance 24/7 but how different is that from today's world? at least no one suffers in the zone anymore
