Thank you for the informative Video. Your video allowed me to undertand "TWEAKING" the ad length VS the ad duration. Best tweak: Ad SPACING:21min Ad LENGTH:30seconds Start Delay:1min
I'm moving toward intentional ad breaks as well, but I am still confused about the default PRE-ROLLS option. Those viewers, after sitting thru the preroll, still get some interrupting adds later on in the stream if they hang out for long enough, right?
If you choose to have pre-roll ads (i.e. you don't schedule mid-roll ads in the ads manager), viewers will not get any ads after that initial pre-roll unless you initiate one yourself. I plan to make a proper video on the main channel at some point explaining all of it. Currently making some custom widgets that I think will be a huge help for people ;)
This might be a silly question, but is there a possibility that a new viewer comes to my stream and it's the exact moment my non-subscribers see the scheduled ad? Or is there a buffer period for that viewer not to see ads? I'm a tiny beginner streamer who plays smaller games, so I think I should make the no-prerolls a priority?
the "ad run" in streamerbot, if I were to make a message appear, how long BEFORE does that happen? is there a way to it to pop up like 15 seconds before the ad or is it instant?
Great video, I have 2 questions and they revolve around "Stream Display Ads". 1) do stream display ads show up on a VOD, 2) do stream display ads replace regular ads (like can my viewers still see me and game play for 180 sec of stream display ads)? I hate the thought of my VODs having ads and hate taking my viewers, new or not, out of the moment.
Im beginning to watch twitch streams at all, so many times i comment then get an ad roll and i don’t know if i got a response to my comment or not so i don’t bother chatting anymore. Usually when ads roll more than 3 in a row i click out and go do something else. I used to be a twitch junky always watching now not so much thanks twitch 😂
I feel like I'm in the minority but when I'm watching a streamer I would much rather sit through a pre roll than have auto ads randomly going off mid content.... I suppose the argument is to subscribe for no ads but its all a bit crusty
@@virgil.alonso hard to say, mostly I find new people through the people I already watch raiding someone but if i wanted to watch them enough to click then yeah id still prefer to watch an ad then settle down to chill than have the pace interupted but I guess different people prefer different things.
There are good arguments on both sides and my job isn't to tell you what to do. However, I do want to offer solutions and innovative ideas to adapt around mid roll ads. Streamers are starting to make significantly more money from ads and I can't blame them for wanting to turn them on, so might as well show people some good ways to make them less annoying.
@@nuttyLIVE thanks for the helpful tips nutty. My quick solution was to use the Stickers extension and made a custom sticker to let me know viewers are getting ads. That way it keeps the viewers kinda involved, especially since I'm a small streamer and I try to keep viewers involved in chat during ads
@@nuttyLIVE heck yeah dude I hope my comment didnt come off as an attack in anyway I loved the video and your obviously a very talented and skilled guy (I wouldnt know where to begin making widgets of any kind) TBH it feels like the streaming world in general is going crazy so people like u who try and make sense of things and come up with creative solutions and such are much needed! Keep up the amazing work man
3:03 "I've opted to do ads every 90 seconds" tfw only the first 90 seconds is the stream, the rest is all 90 second ad breaks back to back D: (lol silly misspeak :) )
once adds come on.. leave twitch.. comeback 5mins later.. adds gone.. repeat.. simple... sure streamers lose viewers but thats not of any concern aslong as adds are forced
How to make Twitch ads not suck: 1. mute or close the tab that has the ad and just do something else because I want to watch streams, not some dumb shit I don't fucking care about. 2. Find a new adblocker that works with Twitch because they're always updating their shit.

For some reason my ads are running but make no money and my ads are running but I don't know what's happening

Much love from Melbourne!
would it be possible to do a what you missed replay after you run the ads every 30 mins on Twitch? In case you play FPS games ect. Using StreamerBot?
Yes, this is a great idea that I would like to experiment with.

would you do that for a new streamer you haven't watched before?

Have you found any adblockers that work for Chrome?
Nope.
