I just got a completly mint astra h vxr today, only 60k miles. I had the GTC VXR and i was pretty disapointed with it, knocking noise coming from the steering at full lock with only 12k miles and overall really sluggish power delivery... Watching you and a few others with the Astra H VXR and reading more about them I swapped it for one and boy they are so much better! its 11 years old and feels tight as a nut haha so much more fun to drive and much better to work on with more options for mods! Love it mate!
Baz Kenyon Just put service history above everything else! I had my eyes on an artic edition and it looked amazing but it had no service history at all, not worth the risk mate!
I tend to slacken the filter off before putting the sump plug back in because it allows the oil from the filter out through the sump so you remove as much of the old oil as possible
Hey, I got an astra vxr same as yours, but my car smokes.. I did pressure test and I am getting 120psi all 4 cylinders... been told engine is forged, does that affect pressure?

Nooo mate don’t use crapsole and you should really put a little oil in filter as it’s dry starting Top tip hold bottle side ways pours loads better Great vid

The best mod and one of the easiest things to fit , I have 1 for sale if anyone wants a brand new unopened whiteline adjustable. Makes a big difference to the handling,
Not being a dick mate but before you put your plug into the sump you should change the o’ring or crush nut washer before putting it back in and the seal round the filter should be lubed with oil before it being turned back onto the filter housing, and depending what angle it fits back in at, just a few tips to prevent leaks 😂 don’t need anymore of them with all the cam cover gaskets you seem to do in it 👍🏻 have a good one mate
Mate when you had your misfire did you have error codes ECN 030001 and 030401 ?? I did pedal test and can see them error codes, ordered new plugs and coil pack but if that doesnt fix it do you have any idea what it could be? Love the videos too mate !
Nice video mate 👍 if its smoking when you're giving it some think your turbo seals have gone that's where you're losing oil. Mine went last year, courtney sports sell vxr turbo for about £350.
Pls go and buy the correct tool for removing the oil filter The last time I. Hit a screw driver through the filter I ended up hitting the threads and caused a few problems from then on So will never do it that way again And you got stem seals leaking hence the blue smoke that's whare your oil is going
@@JustbeingHayden keep a eye on it then as that looked like blue smoke So if its not them then possible turbo seals But keep oil topped up And keep up the videos only just started watching you

Already had them done mate with nevlock retainers 👍 might be a bit of oil in the plugs or turbo Fail 😩

Alright fella I’m not 100% sure what it could be could be a boost leak or map sensor or even maf get your self of vxr online they’ll help u out mate

Good video 👍personally I always used 5w40 on my astra although it was higher mileage. nothing wrong with using 5w30 though
5w30 is to thin thats why most z20lets/ vxrs has leaking valve stems leaking gaskets. 10w40 is the only oil you should use

Wrong engine oil mate ... It's the wrong grade . Your engine will not last long ! You need dextos2 c3 not A5!!
