  • For those that requested it, I wanted to dig deeper into the sub levels of this great pro-level scan tool. For those that have no idea how to work on modern cars, this video is a real interesting look in to what the modern mechanic does.
    It's not all grease and turning wrenches, it's doing deep level diag on cars far more sophisticated that the average Apollo spacecraft.

      I am so impressed with this tool. Our older Autel is really showing it's age and this has become my main scanner. It's really fast compared to the Autel as well.

    I own this tool also, does many great things. Get in the habit of hooking up a battery charger before scanning. When all systems are activated and the engine is off the AMP draw can exceed 25 amps. You are working on the scan tool and suddenly you start getting more codes. Battery voltage drops in minutes and low battery will set more codes. Even a strong battery can fail in as little as 15 minutes. Use a battery charger or run the engine. Only negative is the expensive charge you are forced to keep it up to date at $400+ per year or you are locked out. Bummer because I would be happy to stay with no updates, use the tool until it is obsolete and then buy a new tool. I use mine often and it is certainly a valuable tool.

    For the price point this thing is impressive I may pick one up also. As a Master Tech l1. I prefer Autel better then launch. A lot of employees from Autel split to create Launch. I have used both and they work. My current scan tools. Autel 906 pro 2023 version not the ts model. I dont do tires and if I wanted to I can buy a dedicated tpms tool. Nor do I need a lab scope in my scan tool . My 906 pro has it . My lab scope however is a Snap-On Vantage Ultra . The Snap-On vantage is info in your hands component test etc, wiring pin views etc. Older cars Otc Nemesis not Genesis no bi directional for older then 2000 model cars. I had and sold my older Snap on brick mtg2500. I have the adapters for my Autel 906 pro to do the testing on those vehicles. The adapter set was bought with my Autel 905 mini and works with the new 906 pro. And I like Cb radio

    I noticed the vehicle system voltage during scan is below 12V. The battery is too low. At one point in the video the system voltage is 11.1. Typical key on engine off voltage with a healthy battery will be 12.3-12.5 volts depending on which system is being scanned. Vehicle module communication errors will occur during low voltage conditions especially during engine starting. Maybe the vehicle sat unused for an extended period or perhaps the battery is aged to the point of poor holding capacity. With all those faults present, getting the system voltage back in proper range is necessary before further diagnosis and will correct most if not all of those faults as well.

      Those reading are pretty normal for a Volvo. Key on engine off draws over 10 amps with all the BS that powers up. It takes less than 5 minutes to kill the battery on one. Good catch though!

    Hi. How can adjust odometer with Launch 431+ ????

    • @FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs
      @FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs  7 месяцев назад

      There is no such thing as a "Odometer adjustment" These tools will not help you commit fraud. I worked at a dealer for years and I can tell you that modern cars keep the actual milage hard coded into all the modules. Tampering with the milage will land you in jail. The actual milage is also recoded annually by the DMV when you take your car in for an inspection. Any roll back will flag in their system and win you a visit from the cops.
