I visited Casa Milà in June and loved being immersed in Gaudí's organic shapes and structures. It's a marvel now; it must have been shocking in 1912!

How can someone see such a almost mouthwatering architectural confection like this and find it anything else but spectacular is beyond imagination.

Nadie. No valdria nada.

If u mean that the term "gaudy" is derived from the architect's name, I think your assumption is incorrect.

He was a genius and im sure the Star Wars films took inspiration from the chimneys on Casa Mila. The scene on the rear of Sagrada Familia really looks like Darth Vader and the Storm Troopers. Amazing!

I agree with the Milas, the statue Gaudi wanted was inappropriate. The building itself is incredible and something to be treasured. I loved the columns and arches and flowing facade. The inner courtyards were intriguing, imagine living in one of those apartments, I would never leave, ha ha, feet first!

American here, I built homes for 45years, always by an architects blue prints of course, but occasionally I would sit down and try to imagine a home of my own design. I wanted to do something different, unusual, profound. Ha ha, I never succeeded. I just didn't have the imagination of someone like Mr Gaudi. He's truly a maverick, unique individual. Much respect for his courage.

Wow! Vertigo/hangover/nightmare.. Is it missing some layers of paint, that would have made it fancy, sort of? Blue/Green traces, like on some of the interior? Or was it this bare even in the early days?
All the various (upper class) styles before modernism, most of it was really fabolous... But at least how this building looks now, it's kinda H.R. Giger... Not at least the roof. Or with everything blue/green, like you were living under water?. Wow...

It would probably look stunning in a park with undulating lawns, flowing stream and great trees, and plenty of light to brighten up these deep courtyards all the way to the bottom, yes, I could see that.

As this video soundtrack is dubbed into english , the subtitles are entirely unnecessary. The superfluous subtitles take up over 1/3 of the screen blocking out much of the images that picture the featured architecture and design. Self defeating and disappointing.. Pity.
