The city of Saskatoon is Saskatchewan's river city, developed around the shores of the South Saskatchewan River. Currently, the largest city in Saskatchewan, Saskatoon has become a cultural hub with many theaters, restaurants, art galleries, music venues and historic buildings calling it home. Among these include The Roxy Theatre, one of the last 3 active atmospheric-theatres in Canada. Many of Saskatoon's restaurants place high among Canada's best dining, such as Weczeria Food & Wine, Duck Duck Goose and Prairie Harvest Café. Along with amazing food and theatre, the city offers beautiful scenery and some amazing running and biking trails along the river.
Saskatoon is also known as "The City of Bridges", now with 5 functional bridges connecting the riverbanks. The numerous bridges offers ease of access regardless of where in the city you are, as well as a breath-taking view.
In Saskatoon's downtown core, you can find many business establishments, restaurants, shopping, and most notably; The Bessborough Hotel. Also known as the castle on the river, The Besseborough is often an iconic structure in photos of Saskatoon, and helps to set the tone for surrounding parks, hotels and architecture.
Growing at a rapid rate, the city has developed several new neighborhoods in the past few years. Stonebridge, Evergreen, Willowgrove, Hampton Village, Rosewood & Blairmore being among a few. Each new development is complete with nearby schools, parks, grocery stores, gas stations and restaurants, allowing for access to all amenities.
While these new neighborhoods go up, the older neighborhoods in the city are becoming the focus for infill projects, and are home to many of Saskatoon's cultural, dining and shopping hot spots. Some of these neighborhoods include the beautiful Broadway, Nutana, City Park and Riversdale area.
Not being shy with year-round events, the city brings to life some of the best music and cultural festivals in the province. Offering something for all ages, some of Saskatoon's annual festivals include Potash Corp Fringe Festival, Folkfest, Jazz Fest, The Children's Festival & Winter Shines. These festivals bring world-class musicians and performers to the city, drawing a large crowd from communities and cities all across Saskatchewan.
In the fall, the city experiences a surge of vibrancy due to the arrival of university students coming to start their studies at the University of Saskatchewan. Located just minutes away from the downtown area, the University of Saskatchewan is one of Canada's most prestigious universities, providing academics in almost every field imaginable. Home to the Husky's Athletics Teams, the University offers great athletic opportunities and scholarships to promising young athletes.

I always hear about the snow, heavy snowfall and the cold when it comes to some areas of Canada including Saskatoon. What they never tell you is this is a beautiful city. I would love to visit someday.

Hey Kent, I travelled to Saskatoon city from Wpg to film a friends wedding as a gift from me to him. While I was out there I didn't capture any B-Roll footage of the city that was very nice. I was wondering if I would be able to use some of the footage you have taken to include in my friends wedding video. I'm not making any money off of this project. It is 100% a gift. why are all the scenes in the summer? How hard is the winter in Saskatoon?
I lived in Saskatoon all my life. And i love it here. Though the winters can be hard. It affects our roads, And how we have to treat our vehicles. But you adjust to it. Every year Varies. Sometimes we get HUGE. and i mean HUGE snow storms. like you can only see acouple inches infront of you, And piles upon piles of snow. and other winters not so much snow.
Saskatoon is WAY better in summer than in winter, in dumber you can go canoeing down the saskawan river, ect but in winter you just freeze your ass for 6 1/2 months

I want apply for my daughter in Saskatchewan university.but some student telling that they are not getting work permit from first years why ??? My son went manutuba university last month and after going he did not get work permit with study permit and they wrote in my son’s study permit that he can’t do work 1 years,he applied for engineering but after going he got science .they are telling after one years he can go to engineering again for 4 years. And other problem in manutuba university first years student finishing in one private collage icm. So now I’m very much confessing for my daughter Admission.

But little do you all know on 33rd,1st ave , hamptons and d all have group homes, called Eagles nest youth ranch. Or ENYR for short. I am in the group home I have been in it 6 years now. Going 7 in july. I have no hope of ever aging out due to the fact that I am suicidal almost all the time.....

There is a self righteous goody streak in the city. I lived there. When I looked for work I was treated badly. If you lived in another country you are treated badly. I felt more welcome in Toronto by far.
