    Really good job, Steve! As a professional racing kart driver for 12 years now I am quite surprised with the result an amateur was able to reach. Those guys have a shark-like mentality and true killer insticts when their helmets are on and you managed to survive around them.
    The physical part is quite important and i was sure you are going to get tired as hell there. I think you managed to finish the final with a good result because you were contantly focused and full of adrenaline from being in a train-chain with the other guys. Can't wait to watch the next vlog!

    • @albinorhino6

      Appreciate the encouragement, but it’s not that simple.
      The entirety of the UK is 1/4 the size of my province of BC. Roughly 250k km^2 vs almost 1M km^2.
      I know of one karting track in the entire province (Area 27). Vancouver might have one or two, that’s 6 hours from where I live. There might be one in Calgary, that’s another 6 hours in the opposite direction. And that’s it. There’s karting tracks in Ontario and Quebec, but those provinces are a 3 to 4 day drive (10 hours+ of driving per day) away.
      We don’t have the density of tracks, which means there’s no density of interest in the sport. Add in environmentalism, building new race tracks is not a top priority for many around here.

    Nicely done and epic overtake for the final. Just some more time and you'll be kickin it, love the content
    Edit: Had a pretty gnarly wipeout at family kart track that I was doing excellent on but this somewhat elderly man snuck my back right where my cart almost flipped on a snap S bend that was an incline that I had my knees slammed into the wheel and steering column with my neck getting pinched by the backlash. One hell of a rip up I took but I got yelled at when I was being safe even the point I got wiped out e.e u.s citizens for the usual -.-

    Looks like you are going to deep in the corner and that’s why your losing the exit of the corner. Steve you are doing very well! With new tires you should brake a little later but have your foot on the break longer and hit the gas earlier out of the corner you’ll get a lot of speed on exit

    • @oldfrend
      @oldfrend 2 года назад +2

      that's what i thought too, but he also says they're telling him to brake later, but no point braking later if it causes you to miss the apex.

    I do dirt go karting and we don’t cover the rear wheels and only have a small bumper so people hit other drivers rear wheels and let’s just say it gets a bit messy from there

    consider putting in a harder axle or harder rims to give you more grib in slow corner and then turn in a bit later - you ruin your exit and thats what costs 10ths.
    nice video! :D
