Wow...this was so helpful. I would really love to see a video on the copper box technique. Thanks for sharing your results with the many available products.

You got it! I can do that :) it will be mostly the same as the metal bands just with grit paste :) I'll try to record it tomorrow 😉

Try adding a drop or two of isopropyl alcohol to Tim's foundry wax. It thins it down and helps it spread better. Thanks for sharing.

I'll give it a try. I don't know if spreading is the problem for me... it feels like it spreads nicely and I can see it on there. It's just not as shiny as I thought it would be. Some spots are , but most aren't. Probably just me

Oh ok, my mind went to spreading it bring the problem. My sterling and statue are really shiny. Hopefully you find something to make it work for you so it's not a waste of money. I hate when I waste my craft money.

Thanks, I'll keep using it, but knowing it may or may not work each time like I want lol. May just be a more distressed look some days 😆

My understanding is that the foundry wax is for resin pieces to make them look like metal. I don’t buy the resin Tim Holtz things for all his Xmas, Halloween etc., but I did see the demo when they came out.

I love the little flat box. Do you recall the manufacturer? Or a link? Thank you ❤

My Inka Gold got moldy within a month of purchasing it several years ago. I scraped out the mold, added some water and glycerine and can still use it, but it's hard as a rock and I have to refresh it regularly. Anyone have any tips? This was a great tutorial!

I wish I did, but I don't. I know to never put my fingers in the inka gold that has kept mine from molding... I had the same problem in old ones. I also have some that are hard now. I just consider them metallic watercolors now lol

Mine got fuzzy, too! So I spray 70% alcohol on them when I use them. They are hard, but the water in the alcohol dissolves enough to be able to use.

I think you have to ad heat to the Tim Holtz wax thingy, sorry, couldn't remember the name. Be careful not to overheat. The process happens quickly.

Yes you do have to add heat which I did. (I did it on Camera) I believe Tim said you can't over heat it. But yes when it works it does go quickly. It just doesn't give consistent results. I do stop when it changes and have experimented with it.

I'm sorry I ordered an external microphone but it didn't work. I will try to be loud and clear next time. Thank you for letting me know.

@@thecraftysugaraddict No worries I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything as I am currently working on a mini album for a gift and I need to try and make some look alike hinges that are on the scrapbooking paper, just to notch the pages up a bit.

If it helps I talked about the process in my other video that shows everything except the grit paste. But it is very easy just grit paste black acrylic paint, and distress crayons or slick sticks (whatever you have). I really do appreciate the feedback
