  • Built by parents for parents, Bark is a parental control app that helps you stay on top of all the devices and apps your kids use daily by helping you manage every aspect of their online world. Bark runs in the background, scans your child’s online activities, and sends you an alert if it detects something you need to know about - issues like predators, sexual content, bullying, depression, and more.
Bark parental controls help families manage and protect their children’s digital lives. Our award-winning parental control app monitors 30+ of the most popular apps and social media platforms for signs of issues like cyberbullying, suicidal ideation, online predators, threats of violence, and more. In addition, our website blocking and screen time app empower families to set healthy limits around the websites and apps their kids can access and when they can visit them.
To learn more about how Bark’s parental monitoring service works and get additional information on the Bark parental control app, check out our website: www.bark.us/.

      @BarkTechnologies  Год назад +3

Hey there! You don't have to hate Bark as a teen! Lol! Some teens worry that by allowing Bark to monitor their online accounts, parents will be snooping on all of their conversations. In reality, parents turn to Bark to avoid doing exactly that. Spot-checking devices every night or week is time-consuming and invasive. The beauty of Bark is that it only alerts parents to potential issues. Checking alerts from Bark means that parents don’t have to scour every text, email, or post - which gives teens more privacy, not less! Bark is currently only available in the United States, South Africa, and Australia. We don't have a timeframe when/if Bark is going to be available in Canada, but any updates are sure to be posted on our blog at www.bark.us/blog :) We totally appreciate your support. Have a great weekend!

@@cleobartdippyyes, but as children grow, there is the expectation that parents should gradually and slowly “ween” them into more independence and adult responsibilities. Otherwise, when they’re 18, they’re not going to be prepared whatsoever for the real world if they’re under constant scrutiny and have all their actions controlled by their parents. If the phone is owned by the parent then yes, they have the right to install whatever they want though because it was bought with their money and is a condition of the phone. Still, parents should raise their kids themselves not with more technology on top of the phone.
Instead of using an app that detaches you from your child and removes the love behind talking face to face, you really should genuinely bring them for a sit down instead of having a companies app do it for you.

Trust from parents is earned, it's not just given. If you're a minor, you're also still a dependent of your parents who are more than likely the ones paying for the phone that you are using which makes it their property. Privacy is a privilege, idk if you have done anything to create any distrust with your parents but I can assure you that this is for your protection and not to be nosey.

Our advanced analysis engine enables us to help keep children safer online without requiring parents to spend countless hours reading every social interaction their child has. This approach allows parents to build trust and an open line of communication with their child. Kids are generally very receptive to Bark because we are able to help protect them online WITHOUT a parent having to invade their privacy. We do not show parents all of their children's online activities; we ONLY alert parents if something possibly concerning is found so that they may address it if needed. We highly encourage families to have open discussions about online safety, how using Bark helps, and to engender trust with their children by giving them appropriate privacy online. 😃 info.bark.us/talk

Hi there! We completely agree, it would be much better if kids went to their parents when they're struggling with something. However, kids sometimes don't feel comfortable doing this and feel they have to deal with it on their own. Bark helps parents be there for their kids when they're needed most and when kids have trouble asking for help. But Bark values children's privacy, which is why we only alert for concerning content (like cyberbullying, sexual content, predation, suicide/self-harm content, etc.). Parents don't have full, unfettered access to their child's online world, giving them more privacy, not less. 🧡

    my rating is prob 5/10
good intentions but it’s very sensitive, it says it only alerts when they see something very dangerous, but my mom gets like 3 notifications a days or smth for “violence” bc I watch minecraft PvP videos and according to bark all the the titles symbolize “violence” so it’s honestly very sensitive i think it should only notify when it senses something that’s actually dangerous
Edit: also sometimes it gives me an option to hide images and to tell a trusted adult bc it thinks it’s inappropriate. one of these photos was a minecraft sword that looked like a walrus that my friend sent me for my texture pack. another time i sent someone a photo of a netherite chestplate in minecraft that in the texture pack was retextured to just be a recolored diamond, iron, or gold chestplate, and it said that was innapropriate. so ye I think it should pay more attention to photos before automatically saying that
Edit 2: also forgot to mention that i actually really like the logo (dogs are my second favorite animal after cats)
Edit 3: also according to a comment i saw it gives a notification for the skull emoji? that’s actually something I would put a skull emoji for💀

i get what you're trying to do with the alerts and whatever and how it only shows the parents something if there is an alert, but as someone who has had it for a week or so it alerts so much stuff... like my parents just got rid of the spotify monitoring because it flagged all my music. the main issue with this is that every family has different views on what their kid gets to see. my family for example doesn't care if i listen to music or watch videos with sexual content or sexual jokes. and profanity? my parents really don't care if i swear around them but this app alerts them about everything. the app is overall very invasive in my opinion and my parents only got it for the screen time aspect which is confusing and difficult to set up, just like the rest of the app. i have no problem with my parents going through my phone. they pay for it, and im lucky to have one at all. i just want to know when they do rather than having them do it virtually through an app, which is difficult when you have divorced parents. my biggest criticism with this app is that it alerts miniscule unimportant things, giving my parents access to my stuff without telling me.

honestly this app is bullsh and only bullsh. im 13 and this is horrible. you npcs say this is supposed to “bring families closer” but all this is gonna do is rip them apart and make them not trust each other and hate each other. and this is EXACTLY why the next generation is gonna have trust issues as well. this just makes kids sneakier with things. this only adds less trust and makes me just sad that my mom would want to use this. because if she doesn’t trust me then i won’t trust her. idc if she says “its so i can’t get away with doing bad things or getting in trouble and she’s just trying to protect me for my own good.” i don’t get why she thinks im not smart enough to take care of things like that by myself. and its stupid how it alerts her if i do ANYTHING “concerning” or “bad.” honestly this is just going to slowly take away every bit of trust from me. i mean what if the kid already has depression or any issues like that? i mean ya’ll seriously are going to “monitor” if we download some app or take a photo or download something? seriously? this app is so invasive, sure some of the people that use this are teens like me, but everyone needs their own privacy especially when it comes to what we do or say online. because some kids use this to get away from reality and the fact that their parents will be using this app is just ruining that too. like it’s seriously going to alert them if you say “this homework is killing me?” or something like that? this dumb app takes things way too literally and it’s not that big of a deal. we all as humans need privacy and don’t need our data to be looked at my some company and then alerted to our parents. they don’t even care and are probably just doing it for the money. but you wanna know an even better idea for parents? how about just spend time with them and use “communication” with your kids? then you won’t lose their trust so much. doesn’t it sound so much better? this is so your kids won’t lose so much trust in you and so you won’t raise such sneaky kids! so just stop tracking their every move and just spend time with them and talk to them.

Hi there! Happy to provide some insight into our services! 😊
Our advanced analysis engine enables us to help keep your children safer online without requiring you to spend countless hours reading every social interaction your child has. This approach allows you to build trust and an open line of communication with your child. Children are generally very receptive to Bark because we are able to help protect them online WITHOUT a parent having to invade their privacy. We do not show parents all of their children's online activities; we ONLY alert parents if something possibly concerning is found so that they may address it if needed.
We highly encourage families to have open discussions about online safety, how using Bark helps, and to engender trust with their children by giving them appropriate privacy online:

Ok, first off I think bark is a little harsh on an 11 year old girl. Just put that on those stupid middle schoolers who think they know “adult things” but they really don’t. But It definitely depends on how she acts. Does she act grown? Or does she act like a normal kid? Either way, she shouldn’t really be watching South Park, even if she’s gen alpha. That’s gonna make the brain rot worse. Also, I watched it at the age of 13. And it didn’t change anything. And family guy isn’t too bad, definitely a bit calmer than South Park, I myself watched it at 11, just avoid some episodes…. I am an older teen, and my mom has bark. But, she’s gonna remove it soon. If she does act grown then keep using bark cause that shit will make your daughter better. And a bit worse than SP and FG, I watched Happy tree friends, at seven. It has g0r3 in it but hey, I was mature at 7, and years later I still watch it and nothing changed.
