I was DEVASTATED to find out after watching this video that this doesn’t already exist as a mini series. Even if the project you end up making is different from this, your vision is completely unique and I can’t wait to see it.
I love how terrifying and disturbing the creature designs are, the way the characters react to them really sells this whole lovecraftian nightmare world, I can't wait to see it!
I like how the monsters have more detail in their appearance while the kids look generic and simple compared. It really puts the focus on these creatures being an integral part of the story and not just scary things. They are things with a purpose.
I return to this every few weeks I sincerely hope this gets funded somehow, I think this series has so much potential to be one of the greats when it comes to horror projects **However if any company tries to constrain your ideas, throw them away and keep it solo, I fully believe this could be crowdfunded by the community, this project is... so beautiful, in all its horrifying, quiet, nightmarish forms

I love how this new generation of animators really understand that horror can be portrayed correctly in animation. I've seen several works and they're just kind of creepy, but that's it. I'm really excited for this project!!!! ❤🎉
@Cring Lord The games art honestly isn’t scary, the creator himself said that the game was a joke, the only reason the game can be scary at times is because of jump scares.
This project would fit in so well with Love, Death & Robots, where if you haven't seen it already and you like this kind of creativity, I HIGHLY recommend checking it out
This is without exception the best utilization of animation of animation for horror I’ve ever seen. Every single create has an incredibly unique design and feel to it. Where can I give you all my money
@@rodrigosousa8853 dude. we will FUCKING AUPPORT YOU ALL THE WAY I am sure you realize how incredible this is but this is Ghibli level animation and maybe even better. Subbing for any updates / future projects
Usually the childhood horror themes are bland and oversaturated nowadays, but this. THIS! This is exactly the type of stuff I want out of that. There's so much creativity and genuinely horrific creatures and body horror spewed throughout. This is a genuine fight for life and the most absurd part is that the children that survive have calm moments, especially at the end where escape is taunted right in front of them, yet they aren't clawing at the edges or trying to break through the plastic window - they just sit and look out with smiles. The only character that showed genuine fear and horror puffed up into confetti (which honestly sent a shiver down my spine more than blood ever could have in that scene). It feels like morality and death cannot be perceived. This feels like the inside of a child's mind just twisted horrifically into a nightmare - while taken as reality it would be considered a nightmare, but children can overlook these things, even when accepting the danger of a situation they can still have fun or enjoy the games they make up in their mind (the scene where the child plummets and slams the hammer into that octopus looking creature without hesitation makes me feel like this) I do not know for how long this concept was in the works, what any of the creator's works, or anything like that before watching this. This is genuinely great and it feels like this concept alone took ages to get just right. I'll definitely be looking into this more! Beautiful work!
For anyone wondering, he still posts about it on his patreon but works on other shorts like Uncanny Valley on adult swim which you can look up but there is not a lot about this out there. I've been waiting for big news about it for months now. I watch this at least once a month. He has sketches and work available on his patreon about this but yet not a lot of info.
THIS NEEDS TO BE A SERIES, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, THE CREATURES AND CHARCHTERS ARE SO ORIGINAL AND REFRESHING, THIS IS A PROJECT IM REALLY EXCITED FOR
Over the last two weeks I kept coming back to this trailer because the monsters had an amazing uniqueness to them that I haven't seen in a long time in horror. The monsters aren't just dropped into this playscape-esque world, they have adapted to it and their forms mimic it. This is such an awesome idea, I can''t believe it has never been done before!
same, this is probably the 7th time it's been in my recommended and I can't NOT watch it. something about the spider thing with the creatures breaking off its body is especially horrifying, and the way the drums kick in there... such a good cinematic trailer I want it so badly to become a show
That last part where they are sitting in the playplace viewing bubble resonated with me in a way I cannot even describe. This was amazing, it's like childhood itself turned into an artistic nightmare!
I know! They exaggerated the feeling of the bubble being so high up at 0:55,how long and dark the slide felt at 0:11,and how scary it was walking on one of these because you thought your foot was gonna fall through at 0:30 Real life moments turned into something horrific, and amazing and detailed.
Damn Rodrigo, the animation quality and art for this is insanely good. I imagine the production would be lengthy and expensive as hell, but clearly you've got huge talent. I'm excited to see whatever you create with this skill
This is the type of horror that is truely terrifying, this is outrageously creative with the concepts of monsters shown in this trailer. Because you don’t know what they can do and how gruesome it can be makes it that more scary. I hope this becomes a series cause I will watch it as soon as it comes out.
@@josephrusyn9913 It's the fear of the unknown being absent, esp. with overused clichés and genre tropes, or a failure in maintaining the viewer's willing suspension of disbelief, for those and other reasons.
The concept of a playground world full of monsters adapted to it's aesthetic is absolutely amazing to me. There's so much potential for a story here regardless if it has a deeper meaning with symbolism or more literal and easy to follow. Also, Jérémy Ben Ammar did an spectacular job with the sound designs and specially the song that plays during the video.
I've only just noticed that all the doodles on the wall at the start are monsters, which are shown throughout the trailer. The only thing that's got me really thinking is whether the kids that are shown had drawn it or whether it's a form of warning from other kids.
@@fentanylfrog8403 or perhaps something drew them, perhaps one of the creatures was disobeying perhaps a hive mind, and maybe it's the weird sponge-like giant child or the krampus like beast, maybe the creature was leading them safely towards the top. Could mean that the creature means no harm and provides good hospitality, unlike the rest. I mean it would make sense, or it could be the cyclops with the eye in it's mouth, who's maybe the same size as the children, sense it could have escaped and drew those drawings to warn the young of the demonic beasts, and for it's punishment, it's eye is now in it's mouth, making it unable to speak.
I like how the monsters have more detail in their appearance while the kids look generic and simple compared. It really puts the focus on these creatures being an integral part of the story and not just scary things. They are things with a purpose.
Interesting, the detail on the monsters vs the kids feels more like a point to make them stand out as unsettling and creepy, since realistic/detailed things like that are more closely associated to more mature media and simpler/colorful designs are more associated with kids media, the detail ads to the horror element and I think that might be moreso to make them look scarier, tho ofc I definitely think it could be both, I just feel like if anything the detail separates them from the world more than it ties it to the world (in a good way)
Yes, the making-of video that just dropped shows us some of the artist's notes (written in French, my native language), confirming that most of the monsters are tied to a children's game! The dude with an eye in his mouth, for example, is noted as "Colin-Maillard" ("blind man's bluff"), while the creature from the thumbnail, with the alternating dark and bright faces, embodies "1 2 3 soleil" ("red light green light"). "Soleil" meaning "sun", which is why the creature's head kind of looks like one.
When I was a kid I had Nightmares about play areas like this all the time I remember one was drowning in the ball pit and they all turned into Russian nesting dolls - you've done an insane job at capturing the expansiveness of those play areas mixed with the bright colours and shapes and the eary feelings that come with it, hats off
0:20 is probably the saddest and lowkey scariest shot to me. Not for reasons like every other shot, but an existential dread that even though you have this happy moment, this little reprieve, it’s only temporary. You can only stay with the nice little helpful creatures for so long until you’re forced to face the horrifying ones again. Shoot, maybe the creatures are already on your tail and these things being cute and safe looking is a trap. It’s scary in a way that no other shot really is and I really like that.
I don't see nearly enough people talking about how amazing the sound design and music is. The music gives off this un escapable hell. It feels like you're infinitely running from something you can't escape, doing everything you can to avoid it knowing you'll get tired and fall. It also adds a sense of "you don't know the fate you will go through if you fail to escape from these creature" this entire trailer gains an advantage off of the fear of the unknown. The sound design is also amazing on how these monsters do not speak, their morals are not known. The sound design paired with the unique monster design truly benefits this entire thing. I am really..really looking forward to this series, do not ever feel rushed, Rodrigo take your time.
the music heavily reminds me of the original little nightmares game’s soundtrack, specifically six’s theme part 2. it’s so playful and action packed but still horrific and looming,,
As an aspiring character designer, god the designs of the creatures is immaculate. Really hits that mix of horrifying, uncanny, yet still somewhat friendly looking with that hint of childish whimsy coming through. They're terrifying, gorgeous, and I adore them. Would love to see this become a full animated series some time
If you have never heard of Tekonkinkreet I would check it out, the second I saw these 2 characters I immediately thought of Black & White. Honestly a brilliant work of animation.
I keep coming back to watch this. The vibe of it is just so immaculate. Unsettling in the best way. And the sound and music design just goes so hard. I would love to see this as a fully formed project some day.
I really hope to the bottom of my soul everyone involved in this short can continue on creating this masterpiece. Every rewatch renders a different emotion out of me and I can't wait to see what else they can do.
what gets me most about each of these monster designs is how they seem perfectly attuned to their environment. you get the sense that they're in charge here, these are apex predators and you're on their turf.
This looks so absolutely stunning! The animation style and designs of the characters are unique. It reminds me a little bit of Felix Colgrave, he's also an amazing animator/artist.
I'm not a fan of horror in general, but wow, I can't stop rewatching this! The character and creature design is so interesting and the animation is incredible, not to mention the sound design and music. Well done, I can't wait to see more of your work!
I have to be so honest, I thought this was a trailer for the BOOK Playground by that Aron guy and I told my friend I was super excited to start it because of seeing a trailer for it and they looked at me like I was borderline insane. They proceeded to show me quotes from the actual book and I quickly realized my mistake before feeling disappointment. I would LOVE a book set in a liminal space playground with terrifying creatures about! That sounds amazing!
I love how not all the monsters immediately seems to chase the characters. They are all eerie, disturbing and unnatural. Something to be scared of, but not all will attack right away. I think that opens up so much variety in pacing and tention that sometimes lack in other horror. I can't wait to see where this series goes!
PLEASE make a patreon for this. This is one of the most amazing concepts Ive ever seen PERIOD...and the only project Id give money to. This is next level, and I and so many others are begging for more. This has a huge audience for GOOD REASON...seriously in love with everything from the subversion of the safety of playgrounds to the animation and monster design elements...a masterpiece in every sense of the word. Amazingly talented. Can't wait for a new update, notifications on and ready.
literally this trailer has gotten me so intrigued in a way ive never felt before. i have never payed anyone on patreon but honestly if this dude created one i'd support it in a heartbeat, its so amazing!!
Oh my god, this is the kind of Horror animation that we need right now! The visuals are stunning and invoke a huge sense of horror and thrill! I can tell there's definitely a liminal space, childhood inspired element to it that really reeps "Cosmic Horror" The music design definitely does it justice too, I feel my fight or flight response just looking at these visuals with this soundtrack! Whenever this comes out, I'm definitely investing my time into it
What strikes me the most about this animation, and what I think separates it from most horror media, is how calm the children are. You never see them screaming, or crying, or really running at all. They actively seem to be holding their own and fighting back, which makes it seem like these monsters are normal, every day occurrences. I feel scared, and yet, oddly calm? I absolutely love how contrary it is.
@@df0rdeath58 oh yeah, maybe PLAYGROUND is the children are trapped in this magical playground where if they act fearful, they die, and the playground is doing everything in its ability to make them act fearful
Yeah to me it seems as if they are just stuck and have been stuck living such a hellish environment until just simply surviving is a normal everyday thing.
The monsters actually really fit with their location. The Japanese demon caterpillar thingy lives in a giant set a claustrophobic tubes, the pregnant spider one lives in an endless climbing frame, like a web, and the giant mutant demon bat lives in a hellish, red landscape. Kinda gives me back rooms vibes, but it doesn’t really express itself as liminal or infinite.
This is literally 100% better than all the other children themed horror content right now. It's actually scary instead of trying to trick people into thinking everything is innocent.
@@Kevintendo i think they mean stuff like poppy playtime, rainbow friends, garten of banban, and security breach, but other than these i dont think ive seen more
It would be amazing to see this concept fully realised as a mini series. But even if it doesn't, this piece of animation will forever occupy a corner of my mind as it some every single one of my favourite horror elements. Gorgeously detailed creature designs, smooth yet Disturbing animation, taking childlike innocence and turning it upside down, that melancholy feeling of dimly lit abandoned playground toys at night, etc. It all comes together beautifully with a well realised style and clear vision. You've got a fan in me and I can't wait to see what else comes out of this gorgeous project ❤

Please make this into a fully flesged out series, iv been meaning to find some kind of good horror source and this got me goosebumps. The number of public fears that you encapsulated in this is nothing short of incredible
This is absolutely phenomenal. It visually and conceptually puts most modern animation series to shame - and, to be frank, most horror as well. I'm speechless.
I keep rewatching and finding more little details to obsess over. The way the structure at the beginning looks like it should be just big enough to fit a few kids, since the rocks on the outside look like they're meant for climbing, but then the inside of the mouth is so huge, and that little knot of "This can't be a normal playground, so what /is/ it?" and the vastness of it keeps carrying over with each new setting. The way scenes like hiding under the blanket, the monster under the bed, and the girl being dragged away but not screaming all add this feeling of being in a nightmare, like things won't quite make sense, but that won't stop the danger. The kid's head popping made my jaw drop when I saw it - something about this being horror where kids' lives are genuinely at stake, but still without any form of blood or violence, and the threat of not even knowing /how/ the creature could do that to him, or how anyone could possibly escape. Really hope you get to bring this to life, it's clear you've got a lot of great ideas and love for this concept!
@@soomitsunami5936 Noticed the hellish looking pitch fork in the other hand of that... that.. thing, and it's claws? I think the only thing it's protecting is its lust for blood, flesh or whatever horrific things it's planning to do.
I think what fascinates me about this concept the most is that the children don't seem to be very scared. At the end they seem even serene, and throughout their encounters with the monsters they never look flat out terrified, and they seem the know the lay of the land, making me believe they've been here for some time. The only character that is actually terrified is the kid with the glasses that blows up, while the other two (who I assume are siblings) are busy with getting away, making me think the glasses kid might have only gotten there recently. There's just so much to think about and I really hope this gets to be turned into some kind of series.
2x, the world looks so fascinating and mysterious, and I would love to know "who are the children? What are they doing there? Is there a way out of that place?", I love this
It looks like Felix Colgrave and studio Ghibli said to each other: "we should make a project together, but make it absolutely horrific and nightmare inducing" and I love it
RIGHT? I already said it in my 1 year old comment and I will say it again, I genuinely thought that this was made by Felix, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it's not made by him and is currently being worked on as a full tv show
Ah!! Okay, let me just gush about this for a minute: this is an insanely creative project!! It feels so eerie and wrong, but in a good way. It combines (for me) childhood nostalgia and horror, which you've blended really well to make me want more. The fact that even the kids in this animation look so unphased most of the time is both comedic and shows just how much they've seen in this world. I don't usually come across gems like this, but the RUclips algorithm has blessed me today!
@@iLoveBigKnockers Media is a constant dialogue between artist and audience. It has always been partially about us because we're the ones it's being shown to. Believe it or not, a lot of creators actually want engagement and personal reactions from their audience.

I cant stop watchin this trailer. I watched it so many times now I'm leaving a comment to explain just how much this concept has drawn me in. Its mesmerizing in a way that I cant fully comprehend and I love it so much
I've watched it three times now and I think the reason why it's so compelling is not only is the art incredible, and the music amazing, but it's drawing on something that feels vaguely familiar in each scene. There's a strange level of nostalgia i'm getting despite never having seen this before, and I'm so impressed. The angles and colours remind me of memories I've had in playgrounds, dreams I've had being lost in places after dark, and scenes out of tv shows/movies/music videos (Poppy playtime, Dye - Fantasy, Studio gibli etc)
@@surpriseraisin5892 Yes the music and the visuals together are so perfect together. It's like watching a skewed memory from childhood or a vivid nightmare you can fully remember
I think the thing that is most incredible with this is the animation is SO GOOD and the sound/music go so damn hard that you don't even need the characters to say a single word. No dramatic speeches, no screams, nothing. You present it the experience in such a raw way that it just hits that much deeper. I've rewatched this at least ten times and I think about it constantly. I really hope you're able to fully realize this because your skill and concepts are absolutely insane and I am rattling at my cage and frothing at the mouth to see this created.

It's taken me a few days to process this animation because it's so good. Everything about even just this trailer is incredible to me. The monster designs are so creatively unsettling, and the "camera" angles frames them perfectly! The atmosphere and the lighting is also stunning! I cannot overstate how in love with this I am. The skill, hard work, and imagination demonstrated here is super inspiring to me. Your monster designs hit a level of creativity, uniqueness, and creepiness I aspire to. There isn’t a parallel universe in which this channel does not blow up, super excited to see where your work goes
I now have something to look forward to :) Also, it's always so interesting to see what other people will create artistically in an attempt to unnerve or disturb their audience. Not many people would have picked this setting, that supposedly being a playground, and even fewer would have thought of something as grotesque as living shapes ripping themselves out of the swollen belly of another creature, only to pursue children like spiders on a web, dripping blood along the way. Never in a million years would that have been put to Paper by my mind, and I'm so grateful that I get to see the creativity of others more talented than myself on this platform 🤟

absolutely in love with this concept. the little accents of sound effects over the music (like the stone grinding at 0:11 and the writhing guts at 0:17) are a particularly nice touch of layering and adds to the surreal vibe. i especially love the limited range of emotions we see on the characters as a contrast to all the horrifying things they see, it makes it feel all the more liminal. it's such a well-constructed trailer, man, i really hope you get the chance to make this project a reality that fulfills your vision for it.
I honestly don't have much else to say that hasn't already been said. This is like a shotgun blast of excitement, inspiration, and anticipation, all at the same time, straight to the head. This is so absolutely outstandingly gorgeous and it makes me so very hopeful for the future of animation, its notions, general composition and ideas. This is challenging, creative, nostalgic, thrillingly horrific and so goddamn well executed with the atmosphere and pacing that its completely oozing so much character even for just a few choice scenes. Taking it in like this is just such a pleasure on the ears and eyes. Sometimes I feel like, a lot of times, there's too much uninspired and otherwise unengaging animation that gets popular in media, so seeing something like THIS climb so rapidly in views absolutely, positively, warms my heart and you deserve every bit of it. I can only hope to see more of something like this in the future. Much love
I keep coming back to this like everyone else, but I specifically love how it seems like each monster has it's own territory, they all fit their atmospheres perfectly and the sound design just adds so much depth and tension and i seriously cannot wait for this to actually become something big.
I feel like I've been going back and watching this for years, it's dug itself so deep into my psyche. I think that this playplace, other than holding horrific monsters, has it's own life cycle and peaceful fauna, seeing as when the music begins you can see strange creatures in what seem to be eggs. You can also see our main duo seeing many tiny, colorful bugs crawl across the floor. These creatures are fully peaceful and do not attack the duo, maybe since we saw eggs, this could be an entire world with it's own lifecycles and nature.
I think the two main children we see in this trailer have experience with being in this playplace, they seem to know their way around. Their reactions are more calm than if a kid had just arrived there. They also have the right equipment and have minimal injuries. In the beginning of the trailer you see the older kid telling the younger one to be quiet when a large creature is passing by. This means they know very well to be quiet when that creature arrives.
The only loose end is the kid who had his head blown into a million confetti pieces. Perhaps they met him inside the strange playground? He wasn't with them when they were inside the Dinosaur at the beginning.
My own theory is its like a sacrafice of some kind and each (insert period of time here) another kid is tossed in. I agree imagination must have something to do with it as the older boy is the one who wields a weapon that is powerful enough to kill the octopus thing. I think its a reflection of younger kids thinking older ones are virtually superheroes
I have no idea who you are, but YT randomly suggested this video to me and after one watch, I immediately decided that was the easiest follow any channel has ever gotten from me. This is so amazing. I already have a story in my head of the brother and sister trying to escape this weird prison, it reminds me of hansel and gretel in the witches house with childlike imagery of candy and nice things, but it's actually super creepy when you stay for long. Your monster design is seriously awe inspiring. It reminds me of miyazaki monsters in the best way, and yours somehow almost seem even MORE imaginative from only a trailer! They hit the perfect balance of creepy and crazy, and hit the uncanny valley in such a bizarre, but at the same time realistic way. I have never written a paragraph after watching less than a minute and a half of content. I am already a fan, and I can only hope to god that this becomes an anime or a miniseries or something. You really have something with this! Keep going!! Tambem, parabens cara e boa sorte com tudo!!! ;)
The first ten seconds of this trailer was already a breath of fresh air. You have a certain creativity I haven't seen in years. It's honestly astounding, the amount of effort put into a single minute and twelve seconds of animation. Beautifully stylized and the characters themselves, even though I have no information on them, are original and I want to know more. The monster designs, absolutely fantastic, each one having a different eeriness to it, whether it's staring blankly at them, or following close behind. The setting itself is astonishing, what you've managed to do with two seemingly simple concepts, a castle and a playground, and managed to pull off in a blend is jaw-dropping. The tone is easily distinguishable yet disturbing, and it's something that genuinely sent chills down my spine. I want to know more, you have my money, start a kick-starter.
Pues viendo el trailer podría deducir que son dos hermanos Quizá el hermano mayor va a buscar a su hermano al parque de juegos y el pequeño lo convence de usar un tobogan que los termina llevando a ese mundo aunque es solo una teoría mia
I am very exited about the emotions that we will feel towards the characters.More than anything I hope these characters are fleshed out and given unique personalities so that we may be endeared to them and their journey and to make the suspense all the more tension filled
Insane. The monster designs and atmosphere are incredible, and the setting reminds me of the times those playground structures looked endless; I really hope this gets more traction because it deserves ten times the attention it's gotten until now. I'm rooting for you!
Now that I have seen this trailer, I will never rest until I see this project in its entirety. You best believe I will be supporting/donating to this in any way I can. This trailer brought me straight back to being a child in such an overwhelming way. Of going in to a massive play center, feeling so excited and free...then hitting the point where there's no windows anymore and you can't see your parents. You're surrounded by loud noises, and strange kids, some of which are not nice. Or worse...you're totally alone. You have no idea where you are, you're suddenly lost, and the fear you only felt as a child, when your imagination is at its strongest, sets in, and you feel like you're going to be lost forever until whatever lurks in your imagination comes to find you. Amazing work, seriously. A unique and creative idea executed beautifully. Gorgeous music as well, shoutout to the sound designer whom I have seen floating around in the comments and I will absolutely be subscribing to you both as well!
Beautifully put. I wonder if thats why we all have a strange connection with liminal spaces, because of the memories we have being lost in public places looking for our mum or dad.
@Chay Millan thank you! You as well, I agree that it's a very certain flavor of liminal space that those of us born after a certain era share. Perhaps for the older generations it was a creepy old tree house or a playroom?
Ok, this was absolutely captivating and amazing. I had to go back and rewatch a few times just to process everything that's happening. The sound design fits so well, and the haunting nostalgic feeling is always a bonus. The animation style is fantastic, colorful but washed out to increase the unsettling feeling, and love that it's simplistic but detailed where it needs it.
Please create more, this concept is fantastic and there's so many odd monsters that would normally be out of place, here they make sense. PLEASE DO MORE!

This feels like the inside of a child's mind just twisted horrifically into a nightmare - while taken as reality it would be considered a nightmare, but children can overlook these things, even when accepting the danger of a situation they can still have fun or enjoy the games they make up in their mind (the scene where the child plummets and slams the hammer into that octopus looking creature without hesitation makes me feel like this)
I do not know for how long this concept was in the works, what any of the creator's works, or anything like that before watching this. This is genuinely great and it feels like this concept alone took ages to get just right. I'll definitely be looking into this more! Beautiful work!

Is this a trailer for a game or for a series?
Over the last two weeks I kept coming back to this trailer because the monsters had an amazing uniqueness to them that I haven't seen in a long time in horror.
The monsters aren't just dropped into this playscape-esque world, they have adapted to it and their forms mimic it.
This is such an awesome idea, I can''t believe it has never been done before!

same, this is probably the 7th time it's been in my recommended and I can't NOT watch it. something about the spider thing with the creatures breaking off its body is especially horrifying, and the way the drums kick in there... such a good cinematic trailer I want it so badly to become a show
Finally someone mentioned how the monsters are adapted and are at a constant advantage in the environment they are in
I like the monsters, they look good. They are animated well, and I can't stop watching this.
That last part where they are sitting in the playplace viewing bubble resonated with me in a way I cannot even describe. This was amazing, it's like childhood itself turned into an artistic nightmare!
I know! They exaggerated the feeling of the bubble being so high up at 0:55,how long and dark the slide felt at 0:11,and how scary it was walking on one of these because you thought your foot was gonna fall through at 0:30
Real life moments turned into something horrific, and amazing and detailed.

It's the fear of the unknown being absent, esp. with overused clichés and genre tropes, or a failure in maintaining the viewer's willing suspension of disbelief, for those and other reasons.
The mix of horror and childhood themes is one of my favorite aesthetics. They just mesh so well together
That's true, the unique fear of uncertainty is perfect
The concept of a playground world full of monsters adapted to it's aesthetic is absolutely amazing to me. There's so much potential for a story here regardless if it has a deeper meaning with symbolism or more literal and easy to follow.
Also, Jérémy Ben Ammar did an spectacular job with the sound designs and specially the song that plays during the video.
the song, plus that spider creature and the one with the rotating face after it were all beautiful. the noisework is genius man!!!!
I wonder how the children or monsters ls got in the play ground
I've only just noticed that all the doodles on the wall at the start are monsters, which are shown throughout the trailer. The only thing that's got me really thinking is whether the kids that are shown had drawn it or whether it's a form of warning from other kids.
Or maybe the drawings themselves are what manifested the monsters 🤔
Oh boy, this is rad. Cool attention on detail

Why is your theory oddly cool though.
I like how the monsters have more detail in their appearance while the kids look generic and simple compared. It really puts the focus on these creatures being an integral part of the story and not just scary things. They are things with a purpose.
Interesting, the detail on the monsters vs the kids feels more like a point to make them stand out as unsettling and creepy, since realistic/detailed things like that are more closely associated to more mature media and simpler/colorful designs are more associated with kids media, the detail ads to the horror element and I think that might be moreso to make them look scarier, tho ofc I definitely think it could be both, I just feel like if anything the detail separates them from the world more than it ties it to the world (in a good way)
It's not that deep bro it is not that deep
@@ProdbyZyruh it’s art, beautiful, thoughtful art too, it prolly is that deep hun
@@ProdbyZyruh you will be suprised how deeply things are thought out before they are created

@@df0rdeath58 oh yeah, maybe PLAYGROUND is the children are trapped in this magical playground where if they act fearful, they die, and the playground is doing everything in its ability to make them act fearful

@@vindi167 Maybe the PLAYGROUND are forcing them to "have fun" or die. That's why they always have to look calm/happy
@@vindi167 This is probably correct, we can see at 0:34 one of the kids is shown with fear then their head explodes.

True
2x, the world looks so fascinating and mysterious, and I would love to know "who are the children? What are they doing there? Is there a way out of that place?", I love this
It looks like Felix Colgrave and studio Ghibli said to each other: "we should make a project together, but make it absolutely horrific and nightmare inducing" and I love it
Literally exactly what I thought.
The collab we didn't know we needed until we heard those two names together
RIGHT? I already said it in my 1 year old comment and I will say it again, I genuinely thought that this was made by Felix, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it's not made by him and is currently being worked on as a full tv show
With the artist who does The Gorrilaz, Jaime Hewlett thrown in.
Getting a lot of 'Boss Baby' vibes from this

I cant stop watchin this trailer. I watched it so many times now I'm leaving a comment to explain just how much this concept has drawn me in. Its mesmerizing in a way that I cant fully comprehend and I love it so much
Same 😮
I've watched it three times now and I think the reason why it's so compelling is not only is the art incredible, and the music amazing, but it's drawing on something that feels vaguely familiar in each scene.
SO TRUE. goodness this is amazing and I love everything about it
try playing little nightmares if you havent already. similar artstyle and vibe.
Do not froth at your mouth, that is not helathy!
This setting is so liminal, like a place we've all had nightmares about when we were kids. Insanely creative. We need more animated horror like this!!

The monster that turned the kids head into confetti is just horrifying and such a cool design

I now have something to look forward to :)
Also, it's always so interesting to see what other people will create artistically in an attempt to unnerve or disturb their audience.

The subtle calm in this animation is so unique, I have never seen a horror concept and execution quite like this.
I feel like I've been going back and watching this for years, it's dug itself so deep into my psyche. So tantalizing with its mystery and horror, so beautiful in its colorful innocence, and the juxtaposition between the two is so masterful. Please put up some kind of crowd fund, Patreon, Kickstarter, whatever. This deserves to be developed!
This would have been the best movie or series I’ve ever seen😭
I think that this playplace, other than holding horrific monsters, has it's own life cycle and peaceful fauna, seeing as when the music begins you can see strange creatures in what seem to be eggs. You can also see our main duo seeing many tiny, colorful bugs crawl across the floor. These creatures are fully peaceful and do not attack the duo, maybe since we saw eggs, this could be an entire world with it's own lifecycles and nature.
This would make sense as at the end when the suns coming up they seem completely at ease.
Honestly, yeah
The only loose end is the kid who had his head blown into a million confetti pieces. Perhaps they met him inside the strange playground? He wasn't with them when they were inside the Dinosaur at the beginning.
I think this represents a child's imagination. They are all make believe.
@@Maieveryday2 ^ 😊

Pues viendo el trailer podría deducir que son dos hermanos
Quizá el hermano mayor va a buscar a su hermano al parque de juegos y el pequeño lo convence de usar un tobogan que los termina llevando a ese mundo aunque es solo una teoría mia
I am very exited about the emotions that we will feel towards the characters.More than anything I hope these characters are fleshed out and given unique personalities so that we may be endeared to them and their journey and to make the suspense all the more tension filled
