Actually, the vendor who installed your machines is lazy, thus allowing theft. Most machines have switches and settings that disallow external settings and require opening with the key to gain computer access. So after physically opening the machine with a key, there are also options to allow/disallow motor test mode or financial reporting mode externally.
There's no sound of coins dropping in the first segment. Also, if you'll look in the description, they include a link to the debunk video. This must have been a class project.
The only vending machine hack I knew was tying a string to your coin and insert it into the coin slot, input number you want and quickly yank the coin out

There actually are ways to "hack" vending machines, or at least there used to be, by just trying to use the operator codes or whatever they're called. Basically a series of key presses that would put the machine into some sort of debug mode. The soda machine at my old school was unchanged from the operator code in the manual, which I found online, and I used that to get free drinks all the time.
some machines you have to put in five ones, select your candy, and after the fifth is chosen hit return, #00, the first Letter and then 1. ta-da, you'll get your money back and free shit.
I work for a vending company... there is no hack by pushing any buttons on the outside. there is a mode button inside the machine that allows us to use the outside buttons as keys to get information on the machine. The fact that they used to have using tape on the dollar don't work anymore because the new bill validators have little spikes that will not allow money to come back out through the same way it went in

That is why it's working perfectly! the hacks don't work at all, but the makers don't care about that as long as they are getting paid from youtube.

1. He had coins already in the coin return slot. His "returned" coins did not match the number of coins that he inserted. His "code" was intentionally selecting 3,2,4,1 (all selections that were SOLD OUT), which is why he decided to go with #5 (Mountain Dew) at the end. Would be more believable if he showed us him selecting something from 1, 2, 3 or 4 after he entered the "code"

1. He had coins already in the coin return slot. His "returned" coins did not match the number of coins that he inserted. His "code" was intentionally selecting 3,2,4,1 (all selections that were SOLD OUT), which is why he decided to go with #5 (Mountain Dew) at the end. Would be more believable if he showed us him selecting something from 1, 2, 3 or 4 after he entered the "code"
