The Goblin Shark has the fastest fish jaws in the ocean at 10 feet per second. What intrigues you most about this shark?
Hello Thanks for all you do for us👏👏🍀
Their long beak/nose: Is it used as a sonar or radar unit?
_Does it detect heat?_
Very interesting and scary species!
The organs at the sides of its nose... Seem like organs for echolocation but I'm not sure. A documentary about this creature most be interesting

I swear almost all of the deep sea creatures look like aliens.
It's hard to survive with little to no light, so those animals have to have special adaptions to survive down there
there's one octopus called dumbo octopus or something, cuter than most things down there
Hahaha yes tho :3
They are born from the dark
The dark abyss always give me the goosebumps
The extendo-jaw caught me off guard
Reminds me of the Neomorph.
Maybe the Goblin Shark inspired them to make the neomorph...🤔
@@-Ehrenbruder-Sam- it did

The shark and the fish are looking at the camera 😱😂😂
It was probably dead. Wildlife photographers stage events like this all the time.
@@rc3754 that's a lucky goblin shark! It got free food
'Why you do this?'

I hope to one day research these sharks and other deep sea animals and even discover new species in my career as a marine biologist. I’m in school for marine biology now
Good luck
That is awesome dude! Best of luck to you :-)
I've seen you like 4 times already basically saying the same thing.
@@IWU447 ikr lol. But yeah I really hope he become successful as well as us two.
Good luck bro!!!
"An ancient weapon that works even today" it just goes to show you how perfectly made this creature is to living on this planet, it serves its purpose flawlessly. Incredible
Not all that impressive actually. If you think about it, it's environment is almost identical to what it was thousands of years ago. The deep sea is rather mundane compared to what lives above when it comes to adaptation.
@@breadfan9 it’s still amazing. What’s the point of being a buzzkill 😂

The footage is incredible 👏 what a beautiful mechanism nature has designed!
Dumb dump
It's god's design .
Nature is just a fairytale terminology atheists use to suppress the undeniable fact which is "God is one , God is great , God is creator".
Gamer Pro hahaha ok if you say so, however it came about it’s beautiful ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
this is beautiful every year were finding all kinds of new species this is a amazing
He looks like he's made by relatives, Alabama shark
Wow, appreciate an actual comment. And not one of those Over used joke comments. Like.
All I can say is I am INTRUIGED by these beautiful creatures. I especially love how it's mouth sprouts up from it's jaw and is ready to chop down on it's prey! It really does look like a goblin when it's mouth springs up.
that word doesnt even exist

*I don't know why I am afraid of the sea, I think it's because of my imagination about this creatures that going to eat me alive.*
no, you'll not be eaten alive..you''ll be dead by drowning and being crushed by deep-sea pressure...
@@al-aurum2457 Yeah, so see. Nothing to be afraid of lol.
Yeah Wabanaki is right there nothing to be afraid
Alive or not, you will be eaten. Fun fact even bones are consumed by bacteria in the water, so nothing will be left

How the Goblin Shark extends that jaw is AMAZING. Wow wow wow. The power of nature and evolution is incredible. I'm in awe. I also read that they are slow swimmers so they need a fast jaw strike to catch prey.
This footage is breathtaking. It really is a masterpiece in 2 minutes
Goodness Lord. They're so unique!

@@Jayden-3 OK OK you may find them ugly I find them cool looking who cares right? But they are still very unique animals.

Love how xenomorphs are always based on some strange animal. Xenomorphs inspired by parasitic wasps, the Deacon, based on the goblin shark.
Yep I discovered these from reading about the Deacon's inspirations. So awesome.
I recently bought a stuffed animal version of a goblin shark, it's very kinda accurate. These are my favorite kinds of sharks
It's so terrifying I love it, My new favorite deep sea creature.
Goblin Shark mouth can be long ... that's so cool!
Their jaw is definitely one of a kind. Stay curious, Ahmad!
Yes, I agree
That is one of the most horrifying things I've ever seen but there are a few other deep sea fish that make that thing look cute. But what an amazing perfect specimen of efficiency in doing its job which is just instantly killing and eating simultaneously. What an amazing creature great job with that footage wow
Very eerie, yet fascinating
Exquisite
Splendid

This shark could be a viral mukbang streamer.
ok that was pretty good, underated comment

nat geo : goblin shark.. what a magnificent creature
goblin slayer : DID U SAY GOBLIN??!!! *grabbing his harpoon
See the creature*
GS: "ok now this is scary as fucc"
This is the most footage I've ever seen out of this shark that isn't just the same 3 images that everyone uses when talking about the animal
Goblin Shark: "You know, I'm something of a deep sea fish myself."
The old imagery of this shark are full with the jaws extended. In reality, it only extend to eat/catch and not extended all the time. Oh what a great ruse.
Similar to the blobfish which is almost always shown out of water
Wow! It’s hunting technique is incredible!
came after watching chuckle sandwich, regretted it immensely
Deep sea explorers are really brave
You know, when it’s mouth isn’t “extended”, I think it’s honestly pretty cute :)
Oh the weird kid just chillin. I love hunting with him.
'Kisame' spotted!!
Call the Goblin Slayer.
He has some deep sea goblin to beat.
“The only good goblin is a dead goblin now let’s make these good!”
This is what I love about marine wildlife the oodness, beauty and diversity
who else is here from the chuckle sandwich podcast with schlatt ted and slimecicle lol
I was so confused on why they hated it so much...I understand why now
This is a beast of a shark, nothing could escape an outward protruding jaw like this
Except those who are fast enough to dodge it. Goblin sharks are extremely slow and sluggish swimmers, but they're effective predators nonetheless. Those slingshot jaws help it catch prey much faster than itself, which is entirely necessary in a place where no light exists. Speed both is and is not a factor. Swimming away from a predator or towards a prey animal is difficult to do, but fast jaws are there to catch faster prey. Getting out of the way of those jaws may be possible, but it is very difficult.
Me: goblin sharks don't sound too bad, goblins are cool and so are sharks!
Me after looking at the thumbnail: OH WHAT THE FU-
Wow I think animals of the deep are scary looking!
You ain't alone.
Aw, I dunno! It's sorta cute and goofy looking. It's not like I'm a small fish, I have nothing to fear. Pogging is apparently a very successful fishing technique....
Not my idea of a friendly neighbour...
Well this is definitely where they got the inspiration for the xenomorph mouth. Freaky stuff but very awesome
This shark is the one thing keeping me going rn

I have never seen such as a shark like that.
Goblin Shark: **exists**
Goblin Slayer: Did anyone say GOBLIN?!
I can bet humans have been searching for aliens in the space while in reality they have been hiding and living in the ocean all the time.
Goblin Slayer: goblins. Not even the sea can stop me.
They look like the shy/quiet kid in school who quietly says hey to you in the shyest/sweetest tone ever
Thats amazing! BRING BACK SHARK FEST!!
Hey, I didn’t know I got featured on National Geographic 🤯🤯🤯
Saw this randomly on twitter today, had to search on RUclips to see it if its real about that extending jaw thing.
Goblin Slayer-san: "... looks like I should practice swimming more from now on."
National Geographic - oo we discovered a goblin shark.
Goblin Slayer - enters the chat .....
Just imagine if this was coming straight at you.
Yeah, no. I'm ok with not imagining that, thank you very much. :D
Yeah it’s like a foot long so...
CrystalChubs It can grow up to 12 feet long, lmfao
