  • One of my first matched play games in Age of Sigmar. 2000 pts Vanguard battle. Guts or Glory!
    This is my first Age of Sigmar battle report, and hopefully more will come. I do know the video is fairly fast, and this is due to lack of time for recording the game. I'll do what I can to improve on that part.

    Best bar rep I've ever seen
    Perfect in every way (including a KO victory)
    I like the length.

    I can honestly say I haven't seen a battle report like this before. I think you should keep it up, and as you do more it could really shape up into my favorite way to watch bat reps!

      Thanks mate, that great to hear. I am working with another guy now, and will hopefully be able to contribute with really nice terrain and fully painted miniatures on both sides. With 8th edition WH40k coming up around the corner, there will be a mix of AoS and WH40k in similar style. I have more armies in 40k than my one single army in AoS. But I am hoping to expand the AoS armies too.

    I love the way you show the units, great video man

      Thanks man. Thought it would be easiest to present them in that way, than just scanning over them with the camera. :D

    Oh oww! Those Kharadron overlods look gorgeous.

      Thanks mate :) Speed painted them over a week. But I used a simple color scheme and liquid metal. The liquid metal really speeds up the painting process.

    Really like the shorter video! It's a great format, although a bit of commentary would be nice. Keep it up!

      Thanks mate. Looks like a common request is voice over. I'll see what I can do about that. As I have said before, I am not to keen on my own voice. But we will see how that turns out :D

      Thanks mate. I'll try to make some more videos. My aim is to focus more on recording an editing battle reports, over playing the game. So the goal is to record others playing.

    Very nice army, loved the beginning army showcases and the traditional highland music playing over the sky dwarves was a fantastic touch. Would love to hear more commentary in the future though. Also, where'd you get the extra bits for your Thunderers or did you just have to buy multiple sets?

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  7 лет назад

      Hello and thanks for watching and commenting. Love to hear things like this, good and "bad". Many have requested voice over, so I think I'll give it a try. I am not to keen on my own voice, but if people want voice over, I'll see if I can get over my "shyness" for letting others hear my voice.
      Thanks for the heads up on the army presentation. Became an experiment and I liked it too.
      The extra bits for the thunderers I got form buying multiple kits. My plan in the beginning was to have three units of thunderers. But now I am considering just one. I am one of those guys who wants the real deal on my models. So I usually spend way to much on getting the parts or just by buying extra boxes. But this box really is a "disapointment" since its suppose to be a special weapons unit. And they only get one of each. At least two would have been great. Then you can buy two boxes, arm two of the guys with special weapons and the sergeant with his standard upgraded rifle.

      Thanks mate. I am heading out today for another battle report. I am introducing the game to another friend of mine. Letting his son use my Kharadrone Overlords against his old school Moon clan goblins. Battle report coming up either tonight or early this coming week.

    great battle report very different from everything else out there.

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks mate. I think there are enough battle reports out there the traditional way "recording the whole game". I will aim for 10-20 minute battle reports with the "high lights" of each phase.

    really cool video, I'm not too keen on the sound effects and would love to hear some vocal commentary if you could manage it? subbed! :)

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  7 лет назад

      Thanks for your comment. The sound effects will be lessened. I am at the moment experimenting, and learning. And by that, I tend to overdo things. Voice over might come. I am not to happy of the sound of my voice though. :) But a lot of people seem to want a voice over along with subs. So that might happen.

    Cool battle report. Do you have any pictures of the K. Overlord army? They look awesome but its a little hard to make out a lot of details from the video.

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  7 лет назад

      The ones I have are the one presented in the "army presentation" in the beginning of the battle report. But I'll make a video of the army and present them a bit more from all angles if there is interest for it (some others have asked on other forums). Thanks for watching.

    Great looking Kharadron army. Question. How do you create those awesome looking bases. Are they done using agrellan earth/badlands?

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  7 лет назад +1

      J henniker
      Thanks mate. That's right. Agrellan Earth and badland lands/stirland mud (texture paint with micro beads). On top of the texture paint I added some extra sand for more texture.

    Nice battle report. Shaky cam could use an improve but otherwise quite good.

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  7 лет назад +1

      Yah, shaky cam is a problem :D This is due to the limited time I had to record. But, I will do better next time (I hope). Just need to record at a calmer pace. My opponent knows that I am recording and that it will take some extra time.

    • @0301NightWolf
      @0301NightWolf 7 лет назад +1

      Makes sense, also from what I know of the Warhammer community we are very accommodating. Also I love the Kharadron Overlord paint scheme and I was wondering where you got the combat and shooting sound effects? I'm trying to start recording reports myself and your format is a really nice one for beginners.

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  7 лет назад +1

      The sound effects are in the editing program I am using. Nothing fancy as I am novice at this. Final cut pro, basically iMovie upgrade. But, there is a lot of mixing and matching to get the sounds. A cannon shooting has to be two separate sounds to work. I have spend hours listening through potential sounds to be used :) After a while you get a hang of the names and how "apple" think when it comes to their sounds.
      Great to have more battle videos. A fair warning though. A traditional battle report with holding the cam and recording all the way is easier to edit than this. No need for sound and light matching, tons of fade in and outs etc. Please let me know when you have made one :)

    @philc.2578 7 лет назад +1

    I didn't like the lack of voice over at all, a little touch like that would have been great. The shaky cam isn't so appealing either.

    • @MrLeonarddime
      @MrLeonarddime  7 лет назад

      Thanks for your opinion mate. Shaky cam I do know about. Reason for that is limited time to record this game. ButI'll try to get better with the handling of the camera. I am just concerned my opponents will think its boring to wait all the time while I record :D
      Voice over isn't my aim here sorry. Since I add "sound effects" and background sounds, I don't know if it suits the style. I have been thinking about it a lot, but I need to find a way that suits my "vision" of how to present the battle report. Further more, I am fairly sure my voice isn't the best suited for this. But that might just be that "everyone" thinks the sound of their voice sounds funny when they hear it played back.
      I thank you for your suggestion, and critique. Most effective way to improve is to hear things like this.
