Huge name in the New Orleans and Chicago jazz traditions, Joseph “King” Oliver and his Creole Jazz Band is credited with “Working Men’s Blues” The Sussex Jazz Kings whose rendition was warmly received by the packed audience at the Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre with impressive solos from Iain McAulay (trombone), Peter Leonard (cornet), Bernard Stutt (clarinet), Peter Clancy (electric bass), supported by Peter Lay (drums), Bill Stagg (banjo).
