The designers of the 747 did a beautiful job with the main landing gear. The doors opening and closing look so graceful.
MD better gears, but they conduits suck
Love all the safety equipment they are using....
Amazing
No room…we don’t use that crap
Truly the Queen of the skies! Beautiful!
Great video and thanks for sharing. It's a behind the scenes that most of us get to see. S!
Thanks very much for your comment
Airplanes' gears always impress me so much that they can withstand the landings of such heavy objects🛬💘
Thanks four your coment, actually they have design very safety, not only for usual condition, but they design the landing gear until un usual condition, we called it fail safe design .
You said it!
I always like retraction sequence on planes, and BOEINGS "folding main doors" are TOPS! THE 747 sequence is the ulitimate, hate to this day the 737 don't have ANY fuselage doors!🤷🏿♂️
Airplanes GEAR. The plural of landing gear is LANDING GEAR
Nice! Thanks for sharing something most of us never get to see!
Thank you for your comment
Excellent and clean work. Nice job gentlemen
Thank you buddy
Creo k pedí como varias veces para poder ver tan agradable vídeo. Saludos
Pro group fo sho
Once again, LOVE the safety ASPECT!!!!! 😮 I lost count 😂
Yawn. This is normal .
So amazing and good job! 👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks sir
It's good to see the queen of the sky get new shoes. 😅
Nice job gentlemen.
How often do you replace the landing gear?
Great video! Good job, men! On a side note: Gods how I do hate Skydrol to the max!
Espectacular
Thank you
Made in my home town of Everett, Washington, USA😊
Wow amazing nice to know about that, thank you for your sharing
There is no plane that even compares.
Really nice 👍
Thank you bro 😃
I wonder if they have those damn boeing 707 shims, or those MD shims?
amazing that monster can fly
This really is neat
Even rebuildin the old gear would be neat
Great vid. What I didn't see (unless i missed it), and would be cool to see is how they held up the plane when all the gears were removed or when the deploy / retract was being tested.
I belive you missed it, check 08:24 its about swing test LG after replacement
Jacks
@RLF_Project sorry still don't see jacks or stands or straps under the fuselage. Is it hanging by the wings?
You are just not looking as you see the jack stands on the fuselage several times in the video, they are a faded orange in color.
@Thomas Michael I thought I saw something orange. I'll have to look on the computer and not the phone. Are they under the wings or fuselage?
11:56 jolly spinners
Changing a landing gear on a airplane must be very hard to do
All first designed over 50-years ago. Amazing!
Yes and still flying
I wonder if any parts taken from the old landing gear are put on the new landing gear
Sometimes we swap part from the old LG, but only for accesoris item , not for main part, so even we swap we makesure the replacement still secure and comply with type design
Does the original one get rebuilt?
@@michael931Yes. They’ll do a complete overhaul on the old landing gear. Check dimensions; if they’re out of limits, remachine and rechrome parts; do non-destructive testing to check for microscopic cracks, replace all seals, etc.
Am I missing something obvious or am I dislexic? At 8:36 on the nosewheel doors why is the "J" in JMA the wrong way round? There must be a very good reason 🤔
No gloves or eye protection when working with Skydrol? That stuff burns.
I never do
Air atlanta 👍🍻🥂
Where is this?
I'm wondering the number of extends and retracts the landing gears go through before being rebuilt/ replaced??
Mostly they use calender days as i know 10 years, or by cycling, but im not sure for the number
@@rlf_project I've got a friend who works for Boeing up in Seattle- I'm pretty sure he knows, or knows someone who does
@@stevebigansky9372 Be sure and let us know.
@@rlf_project There's a fairly recent RUclips video of an airliner which had failure of the left main landing gear during braking. IIRC the manufacturer's suggested replacement interval of 8 years, but the airline decided to go 9 instead and paid the price in this case. Failure initiated at a drilled hole where the chrome plating hadn't been done properly or hadn't held up (don't remember).
@@stevebigansky9372those guys don’t know jack. I roll my eyes when I hear “I work at Boeing”
Good luck
Thank you
Use the MUTE !!!!!
👍👍👍🤝🤝🤝❤️🇲🇦🇲🇦
Thanks for your coment
Anyone knows what is the torque value ?
Deferent fastener size deferent value , we follow reffer manual for each part 😁
@@rlf_project 06:15 What about this ? The size of the extension and the number of men pushing it means it is serious business.
@@l33wan at torque wrench have dial to monitor torque value budies, 🙂
@@rlf_project What is the most torque you use in installing a LG.. in ft/lbs? The biggest thing I ever assembled was a V8.. definitely didn't need 7 big guys on a wrench for it!
I used to do this kind of work and I believe depending on the size of the fasteners,, anywhere from 700 to 900 or more foot pounds.

I’m sure Boeing engineers watched that in horror. One guy with the ratchet on his head, while half the helpers go off to fetch the 10ft breaker bar. 😂
Boeing engineers would have zero idea of what they are watching …pfffft
That ragtag maintenance team does not instill confidence. 😳
Rag tag…this is how it’s done
Step one....MUTE.
I should’ve read the comments before the video.
I was going to write a comment of how awful the music is. 😂😂😂
Oh come on… That music isn’t bad at all.
Cool video of the process, but on all videos I see on "third world" industries, it s t ill amazes me to see no one in "PPG" equipment, i.e. veststs, ear plugs, gloves, etc!
All those guys look like they were picked ip behind 7/11 earlier for day work!
Not ONE unifirm in whole group. An "OSCHA" insteptor seeing this video, Im sure would be tearing his/her hair out!😂
But, on the other hand, I guess they get the job done!
Very nice video!👍🏿
Watch one in the US…I rarely wear all that crap
MUTE the B.S.
That music SOO annoying
Another #!*!!! flipping music video
OSHA not approved lol
Crappy music ruined it.
Thanks for your coment next video will be better, 😊
@@rlf_project Don't let people get to you.. not everyone is always going to like the same music. Since there was no narration, they could just turn it down if they don't like it. It was an awesome video.. you do you!
Love the music… can you please share the name of the music, please?
@@dynastyflier you can check at my description video bro, link attached on there 😊
Awesome video…like the music…that is an insane amount of work…great job….😀
