  • This is René Warmuth´s new Monster, a Naturally Aspirated Volkswagen Polo Mk2 powered by a 1600cc Engine capable of 250Hp/10.000Rpm transferred to the Front Wheels through a 6-Speed Sequential Gearbox. It was the winner of the E1-1600cc Class at Pollauberg Hillclimb, and here you can watch right from the inside the kind of speed it brough to the event.
    This Monster was originally built and race by Manfred Aflenzer, an old Austrian Hillclimb Racing Legend that seems like has passed the mantle in a quite effective manner, as Mr. Warmuth won the E1-1600cc Class on his first outings in an quite significant number of events straight away. And we are probably watching the biggest candidate tot he Title on the Class, as well as one of the fastest Cars in all of Europe for this very Class.

    Fun Fact: This was what my girlfriend didn't see back in 1999 when she would foolishly say to me: "You can use my Polo to collect the Indian food instead of your van if you like"! 👍🎯

    Wait a second, this thing is front wheel drive ? Zero understeer while going through corner at the speed of light. That's insane.

      so long as you get on the throttle smoothly and have the right set up it should be fine, smooth on the power, not too early coming out of corners, dont step on it till you are nearly straightened out, infact cars set up like this often have a harder time keeping the back wheels from sliding, due to lift of oversteer.

      Finding the limit of the chassis through the corner is essential. I have found new limits in my car by slightly increasing entry speed into a corner but going through it in neutral..just to see a point of where I have/lose understeer without throttle. Then you can really get a good feel of when to apply throttle again.

      You must see Boba Golf with over 1200Hp.....this here is a joke

    • @rflord99
      @rflord99 5 лет назад

      @@TornadoF60 Why are you comparing an 1200hp turbo DRAG car with 1600ccm N/A HILLCLIMB car? This two cars have nothing in common, they are both build for tottaly different disciplines and clases.
      And I bet if you put that golf on hillclimb, it will definetely lose to lets say schagerl's golf which is build for hillclimb, despite havin 500Hp less. ;)

      Boba would destroy all at Hill climb

    • @hillclimbracingfan5821
      @hillclimbracingfan5821 5 лет назад +1

      @@TornadoF60 It wouldn't since it can go fast only on straight line and hillclimbs are full of corners.Not to mention that cars like Schagerl's Golf would be few light years faster than Boba's Golf anyway.Big power means nothing without control.

    LOVE high-revving engines...especially naturally aspirated ones!!! Love my 2010 Civic Si sedan, with a naturally aspirated 2.0 4 cylinder, putting out 200hp at 8,000rpm. That’s stock. I’m now tuned, and am sitting around 200whp, and shifting at 8,400! 😆
    Keep up the great content, pretty please! Much love from Canada!
