@@etakjam1536 I wasn't sure where they were made. I couldn't find it on their website. I even did their chat on the website asking and never got an answer from them. Finally, a customer on their Facebook page answered my question.

Agreed. But I looked them up - they seem to be a really small company and I bet they weren’t ready for dealing with the customer service side of things. Hope they get things in order.
I tried the PUR jar lids last year and some of the lids buckled and all that I used rusted on the inside and it was foods that were pressure canned. I'm not sure that I'd try them again. Last year I also used the Ball lids with both pressure canning and water bath and I've had several of both methods to lose its seal within a couple weeks. I lost a lot of food with the Ball lids. This past winter I started using ForJars' lids for both canning methods and so far I'm so impressed with the quality. I've not had any lids to buckle nor lose any seals. I'm very satisfied with ForJars. Thank you Wanda for doing the lid comparisons for us all to see how each of those companies' lids are doing. I really appreciate yaw and the hard work you two do each and every day. God Bless you both!!
Thank you for the review. I have used the Forjars for canning Turkey and had good results with no failures. When I first started canning I would get buckled lids occasionally and I learned my error was from tightening the bands to tight. I am not saying that’s what happened with your canning I am saying this for caution to new canners. You never want to tighten the bands any tighter than a light turn, since I learned that I have never had a buckled lid.
Thanks for your honest review Ms Wanda. I'm surprised the Superb jar company never got back to you after your first incident with them. Thanks again for the tips!
I’m learning so much from you and Mr Danny! I can’t thank y’all enough for sharing all your knowledge. This is my first year canning and I’m really enjoying learning!
Thank you for an honest review. I have been canning for years. Everyone has an occasional failure. Many factors at play. That’s why even as a “seasoned” canner I don’t rely on memory. Always get the Ball Blue Book out and reread the instructions. I had gotten away from canning for a while. Watching your videos inspired me to start again. We have a well stocked pantry now from our garden. Thanks again
Thanks for this video, Miss Wanda! My experience here has been wonderful with ForJar. In the past, when canning with Bernardin lids(just Canadian rebranding of Ball) I'd always have a fridge full of failures at the end of summer. This year, I'm just about finished my first set of 100 ForJars lids and no one fail. I even topped off one jar of jam with the foam I'd scraped off, just to put it in the canner and give the lids a chance to fail. It was messy, leaked(which I expected) but sealed well. I'll put that jar where I can watch it due to all the air in the foam but it was a happy result putting the lids through a test.
Thanks Wanda. I only had problems with Ball a few years ago. I had over 25% failures that year. I didn't buy any the next year. I used my older stock and no failures. This is the first year I have bought Ball lids since that one year. I've only had 1 failure and that was probably my fault for not cleaning the rim enough. I compared the 2 years of lids to see what had changed. The year with the failures had a very thin seal ring. This year they are back to normal. Maybe Ball fixed the problem because of so many complaints and loss of sales. I had 1 lid buckle this year. It was a Golden Harvest lid that was in the pressure canner. I use them in the water bath with no problems and wanted to see if I could pressure can them even though people have said to not do that. I did 4 jars and only 1 buckled but that is 25%. From now on I'll only use them for water bath, vacuum sealing, working jars on the shelf, or in the fridge. I'm doing a load of cream corn for the first time in years! I got my Ball Book out and had remembered most of the steps. I had forgotten the extra 5 minutes after the pressure drops and the extra 10 minutes after you open the lid. Yes even us seasoned canners need to use our Ball Books. Much Love
Hi Wanda i always used ball too but cant get them in Australia for near two years now. Ive tried to order "for jars" but soon as i put Australia it shuts down. I ordered 300 superb wide mouth from USA ived used about 30 to date in my All American pressure canner all sealed bar one it buckled then sealed but i felt that was possibly my error of not debubbling enough on that jar. We used it the next day as ya do. I still have 240 so i will keep ya posted on how they go .........Hopefully " for jars" will expand and sell to us Aussies as we need lids too 👍🏻😀🇦🇺
Always use Ball in my PC - very few problems. I sometimes use off brand from jams/jellies, wb, etc, But Ball most of the time, I hope to use Forjars soon
Wide mouth ForJars canning chicken did amazing for me, I’m a big fan of ForJars and will continue to use them. Great review on lids, good information 💖
I have had good success with the blue rimmed lids from Millersburg, Ohio. Never tried Forjars. Ball lids have not been sealing lately. I also switched Bach to pur jars and lids with no problems.
Thank you for this review Wanda. I am using mostly forjars at this point. I have received some bent lids on new cases of ball jars. Everyone should inspect the lids before using. I trusted because they were brand new, they should be good. I learned a lesson.
You’re the first person to say anything bad about the superb lids! I was honestly hoping to save money & buy some because Ball’s quality is not trustworthy anymore. But now idk if I want them either.
When a lid buckles its because you've tightened the band on it too tight! My GO TO lid is now the FORJARS! The quality of the Ball Lids really tanked during the shortage! Lots of fails. The amount of the sealant is much thinner. I've never had a fail with the FORJARS lids and I've used at least a 100 of each size! Nice HONEST review!
Miss Wanda you are a treasure! I just opened a jar of bread and butter pickles from last year and the lid was not sealed. There was a black spec of mold on the Ball lid. I have lost a quart of butternut squash with the Ball lid from last year. I am very disappointed and nervous now going forward as to the safety of all the food I have processed. I have more than a 1000 Ball lids as I have been purchasing them a few at a time. I am sick over their lack of quality. Thank you so much for this wonderful comparison.
If your food in the jar had mold it would had been in your food and you would clearly seen it was spoiling or had spoiled. Rust on lids is your enemy, as once the rust eats through the metal that is when airs gets into your jar, and that is where mold begins to grow. No air, no mold but there are occurances of that oxidation I mentioned in the above post. After you are done canning and you put your jars away, just take a light weight tea towel of other fabric and cover your jars with it, or drap a curtain over your shelf to keep dust out, etc. as that helps to protect your lids.
If you are concerned about rust on your lid and you don't know what to do...take a curtain hook with a point on it, and poke around the rusted areas to see how stable the metal is. If the point of the hook pokes through the medal easily, then I would say the jar is probably no good, but if the point of the hook requires a lot of force to poke through the lid, then the food is more than likely fine. Finally, if the rust ate through the lid another sign would be under the lid as you would see that for sure. Rust looks different than oxidation, and with oxidation you can scrap it and it will smudge but the lid where the oxidation accumulated will be intact. You'll know because you can see it.
@@maryannbergeron9531 You are welcome. Food is getting very expensive so you are doing the right thing to home can a variety of foods. With that though, jars can accumulate over time & 10 years later you'll find you will still have some around the house (and that's what we are working for), but if you are not aware of 'oxidation' or weak rust spots on your lids you might be throwing away perfectly good food even though it's been ina jar for 10 years or more. Side note, North walls are always coldest to store jars, and of course the closest you can get to the floor the better but insulate with fabric as I suggested to keep moisture away from your jars/lids, as the fabric would absorb that if your storage area gets real cold like mine does during fall/early spring & winter.
I'm not sure where you are storing your jars, but for me I have several places but this year I had to run a little air purifier/fan that pumped out a good amount of cool air in my bedroom (the coldest room upstairs in my house), just to give that edge to prevent to much over heating in my room because of a hot summer.
Apparently, the superb lids have a seal material that sticks too much. Lids will buckle, if the rings are tightened too tight, but you’ve been doing it for years. So I think it’s the sealing material. Maybe try it with lose rings? The sealing material and tension needs to allow pressure to escape during the temperature rise and then seal during the temperature drop. Not allowing the release, will cause the lids to buckle, pop off, or the jar will bust.
I use only the supurb lids for 3 years, have not ever had a problem and i mostly pressure can. I find them to be the best, have the best sealing matereal, have never had any explosions or failures with them. They are what Lehmans sells, i get them in bulk, I want to say 350 at a time. I was very surprised by this review because I have not ever had the buckling either with any of the lids (including the walmart brand mainstays)
Thanks so much for this review Wanda, I want to increase my stash of lids and appreciate your advice. I did hear that a few people have cut themselves on the ForJars lids but they did like the canning results with them. You are the first that I have seen review the Superb lids.
I bought a case of each large mouth and regular lids by Kerr a few years ago and have never had a problem but I am not sure they are made anymore. I used to can in the mayo jars and have never had a problem with them either. They have to be tough to go through the commercial caning process.
I ordered ForJar lids several months ago after hearing about them on your channel. They work GREAT and seem to be a little thicker and stronger to me than the Ball lids. Ball's quality has declined over the past few years, so it's nice to find a good replacement. I've already re-ordered 200 more lids from ForJars. Thanks, Wanda!
I am not a seasoned canner, however this year I had issues with some of the Ball lids . The rubber sealant was on the rim as well as on the lids flat area surface. I had 3 jars fail in my canner. So now I inspect and make sure there is NO material on the lids . I always inspect and wash my jars and lids . Thank you for doing the review , I respect your opinion.
I have noticed the sealant on the Ball lids running onto the flat surface, also. My lids were all purchased last year. When did you purchase your lids?
@@swaters3462 I think I bought them in the spring , I grabbed a box of lids from Walmart , seems like canning supplies are really getting harder to find.
Love canning. Did carrots, BBQ beans, garlic I received the got jars lids. I have not used them yet, but looking forward to trying them out. Love you videos
I have never had a problem using ball or Cur canning lids but I'm interested to try four jars cuz everybody that I watch here on RUclips is using them and having great success.
East Central Ohio here and I had the same issues. I picked some Superb lids up at my local Amish Bulk store and had buckling. I ran out of my other lids and watched a video from Melissa K. Norris realizing I was tightening the rings too tight. This last batch of green beans I pressure canned using Superb was perfect. I was shocked at how loose the rings needed to be. I have never worried about that with Ball, Kerry, Golden Harvest or For Jars. The Dutchman's Store was another place I purchased lids in bulk and had great results with and never had to worry about how much I tightened the rings. I wonder if I used Superb rings instead of the random Ball ones if it would make a difference too. The Ball rings don't fit over the Superb lids quite as smoothly as the others. There is just the slightest resistance. I want to support local however I don't want to lose the time, energy, money and food invested. Superb could upgrade their boxes with specific instructions and that would help tremendously.
Thank you for doing this for us Wanda. Now we know. The fact that they never got back with you before spoke volumes to me. I used Forjars for wide abs regular mouth abs both do great. Have a great day!
Mrs Wanda thank you for the honest reviews and the back story. It's really helpful to know what one can reliably use as jars and lids are getting expensive, nevermind the cost of food and the hardwork that goes into growing your own food! I really hope Superb gets back to you but the poor customer service isn't a good sign. I ordered 400 lids from ForJars when you mentioned them and so far they've done better than my Ball lids! Thank you! Edit: Grammar & spelling
Wanda, thank you for your lid review. You gave a very honest review and shared your personal results with the different brands of lids with everyone. I am of the same opinion as you regarding ForJars and Ball, with one exception. That exception is that I have only tried the ForJars regular mouth and have not tried the wide mouth, so I cannot speak about an having an experience with the wide mouth lids in that brand. I also tried Denali regular lids and had good luck with them, however they are a bit more expensive. I felt that I should test some other brand name lids because of the difficulty in being able to get Ball lids for a little while. I did the same thing as you did, by putting 1-2 in each canner load, while still heavily relying on my Ball or Kerr lids that I have used for over 21 years. I take canning seriously here too, and I don’t have time to play games in the peak gardening season when I am processing our food. In all the years that I’ve canned, I have only had maybe 1-2 lids fail per season, and felt that those fails could have been from my error, such as lid & ring tightness, exactness on head space or not carefully inspecting each new lid seal well before using them. Those types of errors teach you quickly to be more careful! I tend to can most of my items in regular mouth jars, simply because the lids & jars are so much more reasonably priced. When I do decide to use a wide mouth jar, it is because I have a specific preference as to why I would use them. I have not had a problem with wide mouth lids sealing nor experiencing any buckling when canning with them. Actually, this is the first year that I’ve seen so many ladies talking about wide lids buckling, and also hearing about even their regular mouth jars either not sealing or saying that their sealed jars were not staying sealed. These issues seemed to me, that they were taking place more frequently after they said it was no longer necessary to warm the lids prior to canning. In my observation and reasoning, I just decided to keep warming my lids anyway. I’ve always had good luck in warming them in the past. It just seemed to me like such a small detail to continue doing to have the most success. I am happy that I took the time tried other brands, just to feel confident with them if I ever have to fall back on canning with them. Now that I have tried Forjars and Danali, lids, I feel that I am happy with the quality of them and it will come down to price comparison between those brands and Ball or Kerr for me. Wanda, I also thank you for giving us your opinion on the Superb brand lids. On their site they claim that their enhanced venting system gives integrity to both sealing and not buckling. As for when their customer service was put to the test, it seemed initially that they were trying to help, however, they seemed to talk a pretty big talk on the phone, but let you go through lots of trouble to send them your failed product. The person on the phone seemed to want to help, but if their company can’t follow through on the other end, I feel that they just kind of left you on the edge of a cliff by not having any further contact with you to give you any answers. With no contact attempt with you from their end appears that no problems have been resolved to me. I was also thinking of trying the Superb brand as well, but will pass on them due to your experience with them. Again, an excellent & honest review! Many blessings to you & Danny.❤
Been using the ForJars since you reviewed them the first time. Never had a buckle, explosion, or failure to seal. It hasn't been but maybe a year, but so far not one failure. I buy them instead of Ball now because in my area Ball jar lids are like hunting hen's teeth, darn near impossible to find. Blessings always, g.
I bought lids from Uline which look the same as golden harvest and seal great. Before the craziness of 2020 I started to get fails with kerr and ball. When I got Tattlers I started soaking all my lids in hot water. Fails went down to 0, and just in the past couple months I've had only 2. I've tried For Jars and they work good, just as good as the others. Because of bulk packaging and available on Amazon, I'll be getting more when I need to replenish my stock.
Thank you for the video, I very much value your opinion! So far I haven't ever strayed from using 'Ball' brand lids but now I may give the 'For Jars' lids a try too because you've shared your success with them. It's good to have options, especially nowadays as you had said. Your white pantry looks so pretty with all your beautifully canned food on them.
You have to think, Ball, Kerr, etc. have had generations to get their lids right. AndSuperb is brand new at this and I believe they are a small family owned company. I bet they’ll be tweaking their design. I have watched other videos about Superb and they say the make a deep “thunk” and took extra time to seal. My bet it’s because of the wider diameter at the top, instead of a sealing “button” and the extra rubber. With so many saying how excellent they are and others complaining, I’m thinking there has to be something different between about the processing method. Interesting. I haven’t tried them yet, but I bet they’ll be working on their design and I’ll be watching. I’m rooting for them being made here in the USA and trying to come up with a solution - not ready to write them off yet.
Thanks for the honest review! I've never had much trouble with Ball and Kerr lids. Those are both made in the USA and have a long track record for safety so I'm sticking with them. I have noticed that the lids coming on top of new jars these days have an imprint from the top of the jar as if they were stored in a hot environment and sealed to the jar already. I still put my lids in a pan of warm water (not boiling) to plump up the red sealing compound and that imprint goes away. They say you don't have to do that anymore but the few times I skipped that step I had a couple fails.
Have stockpiled lids over the decades but am only using Ball for things that are intended to be VERY short term storage. Never tried Superb too many failures reported. I'm Very happy so far ( nothing is really Long term on my shelves yet) with FORJARS. Thanks for the review, love your attention to detail.
I never heard of Superb. I appreciate you sharing, as we can't afford to take a chance. But, I do like the idea for dry canning, but I don't think I would invest in, unless I was gifted with them. I do have reusable lids, which I tried once, and I have an okay experience. I still like Ball, with no problems, yet have considered the ForJars and this review helps me decide to order and give them a try. Thank you. ~ Laura
I have the superb regular mouth lids. I've had some failures with them. I also noticed they take longer for the lid to seal when taking out of the canner and they definitely don't have that pop when they seal. I prefer four jars over ball, to me the seal seems thicker and is more uniform than ball. Also because they aren't price gouging like ball is with their jars and lids.
I haven’t had any failures yet with the Superb and hopefully won’t. The metal is thicker than Ball lids and therefore will not produce a loud pop/ting.
The PUR brand lids are a hard no, for me too. I pressure canned ground beef and the lids have started decaying after a year. I have experimented with my canning for over 20 years. I have jars of meat over 12 years old. I've seen this kind of decay in 10+ years in Ball lids but never in a jar at one year old. PUR will NOT be a brand I use again.
We have seen the inside coating on Ball lids to be lacking in quality. There have been wrinkles, chips trapped under the coating, scratches and thin sections.
Somehow I've lost my Ball Blue book in moving. I can't find a new one anywhere or at least at a reasonable cost. Used ones e selling for $60. I use Walmart brand of lids and so far no problems in several years. Ball lids r so expensive now.
(Finger tip tight with the bans). If bans are too tight it will cause buckle in the lids, this is because AIR is trying escape the jar and the tight lid won't allow it to do so, so something has to give.
Thats disappointing to hear about the Superb brand they are made here in Ohio.. I've heard nothing but good reviews on them. ForJars I've seen a few you tubers use them successfully so far but if I'm not mistaken they are actually manufactured in China aren't they? You mentioned Superb brand being a American company but you did not mention where ForJars was manufactured. To me that does make a big difference. I'm thankful to be very well stocked on Ball canning lids and a ton of Golden Harvest brand as my back up also a American made company. I do appreciate the evaluation on Superb even though I have a lot stocked I was tempted to order those just to try them out. Anna In Ohio
My last several batches of Ball lids have been sloppy put together with goop everywhere and several per case bent even while on the new jars. Now how does that happen. Hoping to have a great experience with For Jars Lids.
I had the same thing happened to me I had 3 blow off. Both lid and rings. Will not use them again. All my failures this year were the Superb. I’m not happy. Never again I was taking the rings off and another came unsealed. It was sealed. Now I’m concerned about the rest of the batch coming unsealed.
Update: 3 days later and the superb lids are unsealing from what looked like a good seal. This is what I was afraid of. I’m opening those that are sealed and going to freeze them. Don’t want to risk them unsealing and not knowing it. I’m pitching the rest of the superb lids in the trash.
I used Ball and had failures often. I recently did a batch with forjars, Ball, and Banarden. 2 Burnarden 1Ball failed. No forjars failed. Now you live down South I live up North is there a difference I don’t know. Somebody up North if you try let me know. Thank you for an honest review.
They are making the seals so thin now they don't last for years like 5 years like they used to only 18 months. I tried the superb they are a lot thicker haven't had any seal problems yet. When you turn the rings you have to do it very Loose just like the tattler lids.
Question Should i not use the lids that come with the jars? (I buy the case sets from walmart Ball brand and have some Harvest Right cases) Is it important I use same brand of lid & band on a jar when I can?
I would say use them! Ball jars lids have a little depressed ring where they were in contact with new jars. We soak them in hot, hot water like we had to do in the old days before we use them and we have quit using Ball lids from new jars for pressure canning. They seem ok for water bath canning and we prefer ForJars when we pressure can. We have accumulated so many different jars over the last 50+ years that it is impossible to match different manufactures jars to their own brand of lids and rings. It's never been an issue for us. Best of luck with your canning projects!
I love ForJars and Ball lids. I have never had a failure. I do use my other lids when pressure canning but soon they will be gone and I will stick to ForJars and Ball. Dont use Anchor lids as they NEVER seal!!
I'm surprised to see so many people supporting companies manufacturing product overseas (with questionable humanitarian and manufacturing practices). I prefer to support US companies whenever possible.
I think everyone tries to support American products but there is only so much that America produces! We are no longer a manufacturing country! Almost everything is produced outside of America!
For Jars is aUSA company. At the moment their manufacturer is in China. But they are building a plant in the USA. Give them time to get things up and running before judging.
@@CrazyDazes I'm simply reacting to their poor response time and the fact that, in this moment, their products are not made in the United States. Saying they're an American company is factually true, but a a little misleading, when the products are manufactured in China.
I’ve never heard of Superb lids. This is interesting. Your experience with the company makes me think they didn’t make the connection of your first experience with Superb lids and their asking you to review now. Seems like poor customer service, and quality control follow up.
I had learned to only go with the best that is "Ball's". There are many copycats that are at reasonable prices. Sometimes they work and other times they don't. Why waste your money on something questionable to preserve your foods, when you should have went with Ball's lids from the beginning. I don't take risk with my canning of foods for cheaper lids.
Someone ask when that ForJars plant will be running. Also ask Wanda how much the ForJars China brand is paying influencers on RUclips these days. Don’t tighten the rings more than 10 inch pounds. Lids won’t buckle. Good rule of thumb.
For Jars are made in US now. Their plant is now producing. I only get a small percent of any order that someone places. They don't "Pay" me to use their products. I tested them. THEY Work! So I agreed to be an affiliate. I only work with companies that have a good product.
I’m not worried about failure as much as the unknown coatings on the for jars. The Chinese have a reputation for poison in certain products, baby formula, etc
Just FYI-ForJars was at Doug and Stacy's conference. They are in the process of setting up manufacturing in Florida
That would be really good if they could manufacture the lids in the USA. I won't try that brand unless they change to making the lids here.
Yeah I saw that when I watched Doug's video giving the tour of the events at the 2022 conference, since I was unable to go to it in person.

Cleanliness, a repeatable process and safety, is how I look at it. In that order. Following the first two, makes the third one simple.
The one that buckled it didn't have the word suberb on it.
Are the forjar made over seas, US.
Thanks for the review. 🤠
@@NuNationsUnity thank you so
Much for this information
Yes this is what needs done. Do not tighten lid down
I use only the supurb lids for 3 years, have not ever had a problem and i mostly pressure can.
Were as I've had For Jars buckling and the Superb were fine. I'm actually use Tattlers more then anything these days.
I bought a case of each large mouth and regular lids by Kerr a few years ago and have never had a problem but I am not sure they are made anymore. I used to can in the mayo jars and have never had a problem with them either. They have to be tough to go through the commercial caning process.
Great information! Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us!
Thank you Wanda 💝👍💝
Really good, thorough review! Thank you for your honesty.
First time Canner this year and your Review was super helpful. Thanks!
Thank you for your honesty, so I will stick with the Ball lids, until I get some of the Forjars lids.
Excellent video. I'm still leary on those ",for jars,". I'm waiting to see how many seals last. Thanks for the comparison.
Thanks Wanda!
Good to know, thanks!
I had 2 lids of 4 jars to buckle but was probably my fault maybe tighten the jar to tight or to full. I do like the lids.
I definitely need to try forjars lids. I canned 8 pints of carrots with brand new ball jars and lids and 4 out of 8 broke seals. 💔
ForJars are not at all stainless steel. Put a magnet on them. It’s magnetic. What else are they not telling. Very misleading.
Love the Forjars
Thanks for the reviews! After I saw you used forjars I bought some and haven't been disappointed. Their price is good too.
Thank you Wanda!
Thanks for sharing Wanda. Have a blessed day
Thanks for the review. I wouldn’t have bought anything but Ball if I could find wide mouth in my area of SC. I just purchased some ForJars this week.
Thanks Wanda
Thank You
I used superb canning lids with great success
Very much enjoyed this informational video. Thank you Miss Wanda.
I have been using Surb lids fir 3 yrs. our whole family Love them.
I'm interested in your required pressure (elevation) compared to Wanda's.
I have been using Lid Lock lids I buy from Amazon with really good success.
Great information.
I have pressure canned For Jar lids with meat in both regular and wide mouth jars and they all sealed. I did pints.
Thank you for the honest review. I’m a newbie. ❤️
Thank you Ms wanda
Thank you for an honest review!
We have seen the inside coating on Ball lids to be lacking in quality. There have been wrinkles, chips trapped under the coating, scratches and thin sections.
Love the shirt. Great video, thank you for the great review.
Thank you for sharing.
Good information...thanks for sharing!
Somehow I've lost my Ball Blue book in moving. I can't find a new one anywhere or at least at a reasonable cost. Used ones e selling for $60. I use Walmart brand of lids and so far no problems in several years. Ball lids r so expensive now.
Great information, thanks
Good review! Thank you!!
(Finger tip tight with the bans). If bans are too tight it will cause buckle in the lids, this is because AIR is trying escape the jar and the tight lid won't allow it to do so, so something has to give.
Have you tried kerr or golden harvest? It's what's usually available where I live
Thank you!!!!!
For jars are still made in China, far as I know.
My last several batches of Ball lids have been sloppy put together with goop everywhere and several per case bent even while on the new jars. Now how does that happen. Hoping to have a great experience with For Jars Lids.
Have you used Denali, Golden Harvest or Pur?
Why does the superb wide mouth not have the company name on it? but reg. does? Just sayin
I have used autumn harvest for years with little trouble. Does anyone know anything about them now?
Golden Harvest?
I have put my canning supplies up, because of working on my house remodel. I will check and sure that is the brand. Anchor Hocking makes them.
I did check my canning supplies and they are Golden Harvest. They are made by Anchor Hocking.
Question
Should i not use the lids that come with the jars? (I buy the case sets from walmart Ball brand and have some Harvest Right cases)
Is it important I use same brand of lid & band on a jar when I can?
I would say use them! Ball jars lids have a little depressed ring where they were in contact with new jars. We soak them in hot, hot water like we had to do in the old days before we use them and we have quit using Ball lids from new jars for pressure canning. They seem ok for water bath canning and we prefer ForJars when we pressure can. We have accumulated so many different jars over the last 50+ years that it is impossible to match different manufactures jars to their own brand of lids and rings. It's never been an issue for us. Best of luck with your canning projects!
@@stanleypennock2118 Thank you. I'm definitely ordering forjar lids!
I use the ball lids that come with jars
🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
From all the reviews that I've heard about baldeds and 4 jars they only last for 18 months and then they start unsealing.
Well ... unfortunately the Ball lids have changed recently, and they are failing left and right. :(
Morning
I’m thinking ‘finger tight’ is a ambiguous term because our fingers & their strength aren’t all the same.
To never get back to you after sending them your failures is the worst customer service.
I’m not worried about failure as much as the unknown coatings on the for jars. The Chinese have a reputation for poison in certain products, baby formula, etc
