I use an Italian recipe . Slice them into rounds , layer them in a dish with sprinkles of coarse salt . Weight a plate on top . Leave for 24 hours . Drain and squeeze all liquid out of them. Put back in dish . Cover with white wine vinegar . Leave 24 hours . Drain and squeeze again . Blanch a lot of garlic cloves and mild chilli's, cut into large pieces . Mix in a bowl with oregano and mixed ground pickling peppers , cover with Virgin olive oil and stir . Layer tomato slices with garlic and mild chili plus spoonfuls of oregano infused oil. Top up with Virgin olive oil . Check for about 3 days , the oil level will go down , top up until it stays full. Ready to eat in a month .
I was looking for inspiration to make pickled green tomatoes. I just found out my husband likes them so I’m going to try this. I saw your name and had to check out your channel!
Tomatoes are so much easier to grow that cucumbers and there are always several green ones left on the vine when it starts getting to cool for them to ripen so thanks for this. ;)
We had an abundance of tomatoes last season and Anna Pickled them, They are absolutely delicious, we still have a jar or two!! Thanks for sharing your recipe April!! I see the big milestone is only a hop step and a jump away, Awesome!!😀👍💯
I’ve never tried these but they sound good! I usually have a few green tomatoes at the end of the season that run out of time, so this sounds like a good way to use those!
This is a great way to lighten the load on the red ones lol this way you can preserve in waves....instead of being bombarded with all the red ones at once. However, you probably can't avoid that lol. HI GRANDMAMA!! one tablespoon is 3 teaspoons :) WOW April, these look delicious! So tell me what you eat these on or with....
Good morning and thanks for watching. You are sooo Right I have screwed up my measurmenbs on that one. I would eat these with beans and corn bread or sometimes just a snack. I will tell grandma you said Hi.
The taste was spot on but they did not stay crisp or crunchy. They are still really good but I would have loved for them to be firm like a pickle. I will make them again and maybe add pickle crisp next time to see if they will stay firm.
Thank you ! I have never can myself. I remember my great aunt doing it every summer. And this will be the recipe I use when I do. God bless you

Looks good
I made fried green tomatoes last year. They came out pretty good. 🍅
Oh fried green tomatoes are the first and last meal we usually get from our garden. Yummy
I'm almost through your playlist! I've learned a lot and have gotten some great ideas ♥
Thank you so much for all the support
Wonderful recipe.. I didn't grow any green tomatoes this year my husband loves fried green tomatoes! 😉
It's so good!
There's no sugar? I've been looking for one without sugar.
I read that bay leaf helps keep ferments crisp. Maybe would work with this recipe, too?
Awesome
Thanks
Will they stay more firm and crunchy with calcium chloride added to the jar?
I first had these at Paula Deens restaurant oh so good
They are really good

These are a great way to use the end of the season green tomatoes before the frost comes.
