How to Catch Tailor - Beach Fishing

Tailor are one of the most underrated fish that can be caught land-based, and in this video Nige shares his quick guide on the techniques he uses to land this super fun (and delicious) fish!

The ideal time and locations to catch tailor. The best places are shallow water with banks or gutters running in and out of them. The ideal time to fish for tailor is during low tide or at night.
When bait fishing, use a 12-foot plus surf rod, and an Alvey sidecast reel. You can cast your bait to the far end of the gutter and then slowly retrieve it back to shore, pausing every five to ten meters.
When using lures or metal slugs, use sturdy spinning setup. You want to use a mixture of slugs in the 50g - 90g range. these lures are best retrieved quickly with a pause to let it sink every few seconds.
