I met John on the beach at ponce inlet a cpl days after a hurricane and my girlfriend and I went to check the beach out. We walked and no except a cpl ppl fishing. When we got closer I said that guy looks like Jon Travolta as a joke. Then realized holy crap. It's him. He waved to us and to come over and say hi. I said I didn't want to interrupt his private time and he said no trouble. He talk to us for almost 20 mins and what a stand up nice person. He could have said were having a private moment but instead welcomed us. I told him I've been a fan for years and to talk to him and find out he's a classy kind person makes me appreciate him as an actor and now a good human being. He said thank you . I mean that. Then gave me hug. Not all his movies are great. But all of him as a person sure is. I really appreciate him for what he did that day

I watched the trailer and it looks like it's going to be good to me. I think it's great his wife got to be in this movie with him. She did a great job too from what I saw. I really liked Assante's portrayal but he didn't make me forget I was watching Armand. Who knows, maybe Travolta will. I was watching a video of the real Gotti and they froze a close up shot. At the angle it was taken I could see why they wanted Travolta for the role. I've been a Travolta fan from way back when, I don't care about his personal life, politics or religion, only his acting work. I would love to see him garner an Oscar nod or better yet, win one.

#1: Rule when making a movie based on the life of a real Person, NEVER let the family get directly involved. Ask the family questions and try to get to know the family and the character being portrayed through the family, but when the family is involved directly there's always a lot of fluff and almost always has any major events that would be considered negative, highly altered or completely sanitized from the movie. The reason why this movie is so bad it's because John Gotti Jr and his mother were directly involved as you can see. There were a lot of events in his life that were somewhat altered or completely left out of the movie, some of the negative was in the movie but only mention once and never touched on again, or it was just a flat-out fabrication of the truth, and it probably also didn't help that the dude from Entourage directed the movie and completely had no idea what he was doing. Just my opinion and observation from my point of view....

I normally like John Travolta, but he honestly couldnt not in a hot second compare to Armand Asante in the HBO original "Gotti" movie. Matter of fact the whole cast couldn't compare to the HBO original. Watch the original for yourself, you'll see. John Travolta should have never touched this movie.

#1: Rule when making a movie based on the life of a real Person, NEVER let the family get directly involved. Ask the family questions and try to get to know the family and the character being portrayed through the family, but when the family is involved directly there's always a lot of fluff and almost always has any major events that would be considered negative, highly altered or completely sanitized from the movie. The reason why this movie is so bad it's because John Gotti Jr and his mother were directly involved as you can see. There were a lot of events in his life that were somewhat altered or completely left out of the movie, some of the negative was in the movie but only mention once and never touched on again, or it was just a flat-out fabrication of the truth, and it probably also didn't help that the dude from Entourage directed the movie and completely had no idea what he was doing. Just my opinion and observation from my point of view....
Right. ALWAYS make a typical Hollywood b.s. fantasy.
Or just watch a documentary.
