    Hey neymo labs! It says something about your product when a guy uses it instead of another 10k machine he also has! Keep at it Dave!

    Very cool 👍 How long did that chess piece take to route out of the dowel? Glad you used the knight, it's the nightmare piece to make 😢

    • @DaveGatton
      @DaveGatton  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for watching. The knight took a little less than an hour and a half. The roughing pass was 32 minutes, and the finishing pass was 53 minutes.

    Dave, I have the same setup as you. (VCarve and the 6040)
    I can jog the 4th axis but when I cut the rotary doesn’t spin and the XY move as if it is 2D. Does the generic gcode post processor handle the 4th axis or is there another processor I need to use?

    • @DaveGatton
      @DaveGatton  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks for watching! You will need to use the G-Code WrapY2A (mm)(*.tap) post processor in VCarve.

      @@DaveGatton I cannot get this right. I followed your video as best I could. I used the WrapY2A pp. Everytime I run it, it cuts straight down to what looks like the center of the dowel and then cuts from there. I created a roughing toolpath with a 1/4 inch end mill. I can't understand why it doesn't respect the .1 depth of cut.

      @@BoydWold where do you have your z zero set? To the centerline of the A axis? Or to the top of the material?
