  • Embarking on the enchanting Train to Tibet, particularly Kailash, is like stepping into a richly woven tale that unfolds across the heart of China. Picture this: 40 spellbinding hours on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, a marvel of human engineering fondly dubbed the Qingzang Railway or Lhasa Express. This extraordinary train journey meanders through the very soul of Tibet, atop the "roof of the world," offering a panorama of landscapes so breathtaking, they seem painted by the gods.
Yet, this isn't just a trip; it's a lifetime's worth of adventure. However, reaching Tibet isn't a simple affair. Tucked away in China's closely guarded autonomous zone, it demands not only your fascination but a special permit and a nod from a government-certified agency.
The train itself is a testament to human triumph, conquering the highest plateau railway worldwide. As you traverse this epic odyssey, time and distance blur, and you find yourself intimately connected with the profound beauty of Tibet. All the while, the journey pays respect to the delicate dance of autonomy within the folds of China's embrace.

This man was saying that Chinese government controlled turning off lights on the train at 11:00 pm. As a matter of fact, Chinese government won't have that much time to deal with this kind of nonsense, it's solely the decision of the railway system themselves. What they are riding is actually the 2nd level hard sleeper section where it's crowded with people. If lights are not turned off by the train, many other people who want sleep would complain. If you choose the first class soft sleeper which is more expensive, each bed is equipped with a reading light and charging set is shared with 4 in each close door cabinet. Unlike in India where ordinary people use very lousy railway system, therefore providing a dedicated luxury train for those rich people only. In China, railway system is mostly in good shape and fast moving, therefore no need to have a luxury train to satisfy the taste of few rich people. The soft sleeper cart is already pretty good for richer travelers.

I guess you have some misunderstanding watching our vlog. And Tibet is certainly restricted zone where you can’t reach unless you have special permits like we entered in other parts of China freely we can’t do that in Tibet. So there is nothing to feel offensive about. There are zones in our country too where there are restrictions for foreigners due to security reasons and special permits are required.

@@Xtremeroads "And Tibet is certainly restricted zone where you can’t reach unless you have special permits"
I don't think you understand what the word "restricted" means. If you're able to get a visa to another country like India, you're not restricted. If you're able to enter into Tibet just by getting a "permit" you're not restricted. And at the 34:44 mark of the video, that's all you had to do was show your "permit" inside the building and you're able to roam anywhere in Lhasa without a guide.
The only place you're "restricted" in Lhasa are visiting the Potala Palace and the monasteries where you have to be escorted by a tour guide.

Train to Tibet is certainly something which we were longing to do. It was difficult to decide whether going to restricted zone in China will be easier or not. We wanted to visit Lhasa as it was our dream to go once in lifetime. We have been writing books on Lord Buddha’s path. We covered extensively in India and books extensively distributed as state gift in various events and International summits. I have also mentioned in my community post about our lust to visit Places neighbouring to Leh and place where name of His Holiness Dalai Lama is banned for political reasons.
Although due to this trip we had to shuffle our other destinations as we were not sure of permit approval and date. Also National Day was coming during our trip. I am sure Train to Tibet…ceiling of the World will be extra ordinary experience…Train to Mount Kailash Yatra…snow, mountains, nature reserves, lakes and Most fascinating was a ride at 15000ft above sea level.

I suggest dear Indian vlogger that Please do not use vocabulary like “ Restricted “ in Tibet series. Chinese people concerned and sensitive to this.
Have a Nice vacation and May God Bless you two!

Important note: Before 1950, Tibet implemented a cruel serfdom system. Tibetan civilians were exploited by serf-owning nobles and lived a miserable serf life. In 1950, the CCP liberated Tibetan civilians, gave them land, abolished the cruel serfdom system, and deprived them of their land. The privileges of the serf nobles. The Tibetans currently living in India are the Tibetan serf aristocrats and their descendants who fled to India in 1950. These people exploited Tibetan civilians and practiced cruel serfdom. These serf aristocrats were afraid of retaliation from Tibetan civilians, so they fled to India, so These people are enemies of Tibetan civilians and cannot represent the interests of Tibetan civilians. The Tibetan people are proud of their Chinese identity and their living standards are 10,000 times better than those of Tibetans in India. The Dalai Lama is the largest serf aristocrat. He exploited civilians in Tibet. After fleeing to India, in order to gain support from Western countries, he immediately changed his position and became a "democracy fighter." It is really a great irony. He is the least qualified to talk about democracy and freedom. This kind of serf aristocracy.

The fact is, even the 14th Dalai Lama has admitted that Tibetans want to be with China, u can find the interview online. Their economy is doing very good right now, and they can also practice their religion. U think they r not happy?

There are no fences and armed patrols on the border between China (Tibet) and India. There is even a Tibetan village built next to the border. If the Tibetans really hate China, they can leave China by simply walking across the border to India. But they don't want to because of 2 possible reasons.
      1. The average income of Tibetans is 3 times the average income of Indians.
      2. 95% of Tibetans are covered with medical insurance.
37% of Indians are covered with medical insurance.,

Does the Dalai Lama have the courage to tell you: Before 1950, Tibet implemented a cruel serfdom system, and the Dalai Lama was the largest serf-owning noble. At that time, Tibetan civilians lived a miserable life. Fortunately, the CCP rescued the Tibetan civilians, abolished the inhumane serfdom system in Tibet, and deprived the Tibetan serf-owning aristocracy of their privileges. Therefore, the Dalai Lama fled to India because he was afraid of being retaliated by the Tibetan civilians. When the Dalai Lama arrived in India, in order to gain support from Western countries, he actually changed his position and pretended to be a "democracy fighter." This is really a great irony. He is the least qualified to talk about democracy and freedom, because he is a serf-owning aristocrat.
