    Another excellent video. They mentioned the APU in the checklist on landing. Was it started then because there wasn't any ground power?

    • @HighPressureAviationFilms
      @HighPressureAviationFilms  7 лет назад

      Thanks! APU is mentioned in the after landing checklist. "APU Start" may be delayed until just prior to engine shutdown. Usually, the ground power is connected a few minutes after engines shutdown ( depends on the airport). Then, it can be switched off.

    During the approach, can you turn off the autopilot when you are not seeing the runway yet? that's what I saw in this video.

      You can disconnect the AP anytime. Excepted during a CAT3 approach (Low visibility approach) where you keep the AP until touchdown.

      High Pressure Aviation Films la clearance de l'atc pour l'atterrissage est vachement tard non?

    • @lerouxrv
      @lerouxrv 7 лет назад +2

      Payes ta clairance tardive... Je pensais que c'était une spécialité de l'atc sur les petits terrains.

    • @HighPressureAviationFilms
      @HighPressureAviationFilms  7 лет назад

      Légèrement, mais rien de trop anormal. En heure de pointe on est proche des espacements mini, donc on s'attend souvent à des clairance plus tardive.

    Bonjour
    L'autobrake a été rajoutée dans la check?
    Et sinon, je croyais que l'after landing check-list se faisait silencieusement et annonçait LDG C/L completed une fois cette dernière terminée; ce n'est plus le cas?

    Solid vid...thanks for sharing. Is it common for you guys to go flaps full with the gear still up?? I'm just a lowly CFI (for now) but I know our tiny Pipers scream at us when that happens...

    • @HighPressureAviationFilms
      @HighPressureAviationFilms  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks for your comment! Actually, it is really uncommon, but it is not forbidden. On this approach we had to reduce speed toward or approach speed really, that's the reason we went flaps full that soon.

    Superbe vidéo comme toujours !
    Simple question, la clairance ATC arrive très tard presque 200ft, si l'avion n'a rien à l'altitude minimum, il remet les gazs ?

    • @HighPressureAviationFilms
      @HighPressureAviationFilms  7 лет назад +2

      oui, pas d'atterrissages sans clairance. L'atc a attendu que l'avion précédent dégage la piste pour donner l'autorisation. Cela peut parfois arriver plus tardivement (Londres par exemple)

    • @valentinforveille5962
      @valentinforveille5962 5 лет назад

      L'avion peut continuer son atterrissage même sous les minimas s'il n'a pas été autorisé à atterrir, la MDA n'a mas de rapport avec la clearance d'atterrissage il me semble

    • @HighPressureAviationFilms

      Yes, 2000ft is the going around altitude on ILS 06 at Orly.
      Effectivement, clairance légèrement tardive

  • @ETcelerate
    @ETcelerate 7 лет назад +1

    Quick question! If say, you didn't get clearance to land at minimums, what would happen?

    • @HighPressureAviationFilms
      @HighPressureAviationFilms  7 лет назад +4

      We can go below minimums, but we must get the clearance before reaching the threshold ( around 50ft). If not, we go around.

    • @Quantiad
      @Quantiad 6 лет назад

      Minimums is weather related, not clearance related.

    • @tomstravels520
      @tomstravels520 3 года назад

      Because the gear warning only goes off if below 750ft. Allows for more flexibility of configuration without alarms going off

    • @lerouxrv
      @lerouxrv 7 лет назад

      Since french is one of six ICAO language, ATC can be provided in french to crews having the right proficiency. Off course, if you don't, it will be provided in english.

      you are right, in approach, it is usually used as a target speed when the aircraft is in Conf 1, but we could go below.

  • @flyingfrenchman5732
    @flyingfrenchman5732 5 лет назад

    Very nice video.
    But being a pilot on the 320 I have to say that the configuration goes against Airbus rules...
    It should be F1, F2, Gear down, F3, FFull ; instead of putting the gear down last, like shown here.
    Is this a company procedure or something ?

    @fingerhorn4 7 лет назад

    ATC should never wait this long before landing clearance. If an aircraft in front had not cleared the runway ATC should have directed a go-around. Also they told you to slow down to 140 knots. That is well below the approach speed of many passenger jet aircraft. What if your VAPP was 147 knots? Would you say, "negative, not possible"?

    • @valentinforveille5962
      @valentinforveille5962 5 лет назад

      The approach speed of the 320 is most of the time between 120kt and 130kt
