Maspalomas is a resort town in the south of Gran Canaria, in Spain’s Canary Islands. It’s known for its vast expanse of coastal dunes. These encompass the Maspalomas Dunes nature reserve. It contains several ecosystems, including the La Charca Lagoon, palm groves and the dunes, rich in birdlife like plovers, snipes and herons.
