    His running ability and elusiveness were simply stunning...but his left arm was pure gold. He had a perfect delivery and laser power and precision. His comeback years, especially ‘09-‘10, were just phenomenal. No one expected anything...and for a couple of years, he was better than ever. Amazing.

      The dude had one of the strongest arms ive ever seen. Wasn't very accurate, but when he was it was a thing of beauty. So sad that he got into all that shit, he missed out on his true prime, without injuries and continuing the success he was having I wouldnt be surprised if he was Hall bound. All fucked up by stupid decision making
      Glad he has gotten his life back together though. Takes a real man to enact true change.

    Michael Vick changed the NFL in almost every aspect. He changed how teams recruit qb's and defensive players. Teams scratched Play Books for modern styles to stop him and future Vicks. It's sad that he was involved in dog fighting scandal. We all pave our own path and it's how you end it; I believe in second chances and he did well on the field and off. I wish he didn't get in trouble in his prime, he could have been even greater than he already was.

    Just to clarify, the guys who blitz the quarter back are not useally safeties, they are useally defensive linemen or linebackers. Safeties are the the two guys who line up deep, and although they do sometimes blitz or play close to the line against the run they useally defend against the pass

    • @fallingfloors
      @fallingfloors 6 лет назад +12

      it takes times to learn American football but when Vick runs up the field he does escape the safeties

    • @psd.3144
      @psd.3144 6 лет назад +10

      When the qb breaks a run it is usually the safety's fault if he scores or get 30+ yards, since at least one (usually the FS) of them should be seeing him run before anyone else does. His job becomes stopping a long run from breaking by callouts or tackling them himself.

    How anyone can dislike these videos is beyond me. I love seeing the entertainment you get out of watching these NFL videos. It's nice to see that anyone can appreciate the sport I have loved my whole life no matter what age they are introduced to it. I also love that I get to watch your Rugby videos now that I have found your channel.
    I have always loved the idea of rugby, but it has had several failed runs in the US and watching live games over here is hard. It reminds me of Lacrosse. Where I am from in the U.S. lacrosse is huge, but since moving away from home it's hard to get a chance to watch the games. I have always felt like I would be more in to rugby if it were more available to me, and you have proven that.

    Its a touchdown if the ball crosses the endzone or if you have two feet down(on a throw)

    • @caseyryan1
      @caseyryan1 6 лет назад +2

      Juan Bar To clarify: if you are running the ball in, the ball just needs to cross the invisible wall that extends up from the goal line and the pylons. But if you are catching the ball in the endzone, you must get two feet on the ground for it count. In Mike Vick’s case, he was usually a runner so he only needed the ball to cross the line.

It's your passion and energy for high caliber athletes that bursts through in your vids. You're attitude is positive and infectious. The sports world needs more like you, mate. Regarding Michael Vick, his speed and elusiveness as a running QB was brilliant. He was a game changer in that respect. BUT, HIS ARM STRENGTH was super human. When he wanted it, the speed of his passes were bullet like. A pure, left handed FREAK! Every bit as impressive as a pro baseball pitcher who lights up the radar gun at 100 miles per hour consistently.

    You're videos are so popular because of two things I'd have to guess. One, for American NFL fans, we're watching you discover the thing that's made us so excited since we were young kids. This stuff is amazing to us, but almost taken for granted because we did watch guys like Vick do it for 13 years. But you're reaction is like watching a memory of our initial reactions all those years ago. Secondly, NFL curious newcomers from around the world completely relate to you and are loving the one stop shop you've started to see some of the most amazing moments to ever happen in the NFL.

    I am sure this was answered, when your a runner, all that needs to happen is the tip of the ball gets to the goal line "White part" this includes hitting the pylon. Now, when your a receiver, your have to maintain control of the ball throughout your catch. 2 feet, 1 foot, and elbow, 1 knee, any of that could be considered a touchdown if you maintain control of the ball..Vick just seemed to flick his wrist and the ball would go 60 yards. I am glad i found your channel. its nice to see somebody who never played US Football to get into it this much..Good on ya, Mate.

  • @grox3328

    To score a touchdown: The ball must "cross the plain of the goal line". You will see many players reaching the ball across the white end line or touching the orange pylon (a.k.a. tall, rectangular vinyl-sheathed foam marker at either end of the end line). This line extends infinitely upward into the cosmos. Glad you enjoying some american-style football. Btw, thanks for suggesting the Canterbury Crusaders- I've been enjoying that!

    The Vick “Flick” on top of the speed is what made I’m special. One of the best deep balls you’ll ever see coming at 100 miles per hour. Also he went to jail before going to the Eagles, the green team, then continued his career. They actually have a bleacher report documentary of him that I would recommend if you have real interest in him.

    Barry Sanders top 3 greatest running backs ever. If he wouldn’t have retired early he would hold the record for most rushing yards not Emmit Smith. Most elusive back ever. If he had a better team/ Offensive line his stats would have been astronomical.

    The ball has to cross the plane no matter where your body is as long as the ball crosses the line

    • @paladin313
      @paladin313 6 лет назад

      ...and you don't step into touch, (physically touch any part of your body outside the bounds,) before you break the plane of the goal line with the ball. You can even touch the pylon, (as is also the case in rugby,) as it is considered part of the goal line.

    7:34 so for a touchdown, it's not just any part of your body. while maintaining complete possession of the ball and without stepping out of bounds prior to getting into the endzone, any part of the ball must be over the line (ball doesn't have to touch the ground) or touch the pylon (bright orange thingy). the thick white line is out of bounds. hope this helps

  • @DatDude7802
    @DatDude7802 6 лет назад +3

    As long as the ball crosses the goal line it's a touchdown. Really as soon as the nose of the ball breaks the plane of the end zone it's a touchdown.

    7:30 the goal line is the skinny white line at the start of the end zone, if any part of the ball crosses the line it’s a TD, it’s called “breaking the plane”, so if you put a wall up 90 degrees from the goal line, any part of the ball touching it is a TD. And the wide white line is the boundary, touching it= out of bounds and play over

    White line is the goal line. All you have to do is get the ball to cross the line while its in your hands and its a touchdown. The orange stick indicating the line is called a pylon. if you are falling out of bounds and hit it before you land out it is considered a touchdown. Love your videos man

    not sure if anyone answered the touchdown question but... if the ball breaks the front white line of the endzone and is within the boundaries (the orange pylon) then it is a touchdown. That's the basic rule.

    touchdowns require that the ball carrier breaks the plane of the end zone with the ball. If the ball is over or touches the orange posts, its a touch down. A catch in the endzone requires the receiver has control of the ball and is down (shoulder, knee or butt contacts ground inbounds) or gets both feet down inbounds.

  • @opieg7333
    @opieg7333 6 лет назад

    A touchdown occurs when any part of the ball crosses the white goal line as soon as the ball makes contact with said line and so long as the ball is possessed by the active player. Active player means not tackled. Doesn't matter if the ball is on the ground or in the air, the play is live until touchdown or ruled down/out of bounds. That possession clause can create some confusion, especially on pass plays for touchdowns which is why you see so many of those replayed.
    On Vick not getting as many running TDs as you might expect, teams only keep a couple of quarterbacks on the roster and usually only 2 that are of quality, as such, quarterbacks will go to the ground on purpose more often on runs to ensure they do not get injured. Rules protect QBs in the passing action but once they run, they can be hit in any legal way like a running back. Defenses key on this and if they can get to a QBs arm while running, they can get him out of the game. Yes, defenses active intend to injure running QBs due to their value to the team.
    In terms of running QBs, Vick was tops. Cordell Stewart (Pittsburgh) was sort of a prototype for Vick in that the playbook was designed to specifically feature his running ability as a significant percent of the plays. Plenty of running QBs in history, but they were pass first, then run to get out of trouble or extend time to pass. Steve Young (San Francisco) was an god running QB, but athletically had an ugly running style. Generally, running QBs do not last long and defenses have sort of figured out those type of offensive schemes by getting faster and lighter players over the years.
