Man...back in the day! My ears are still ringing from being at the club every night. LOL. This was probably the first time we ever heard a sampler playing a solo of a phrase that was sung. Incredible. This brings back too many memories.
Thanks for listening and posting a comment @retroloungemusic. Oh-man, that was just the half of it. Getting home was a chore. Three wooden, peach crates full of 12 inch vinyl's and walking home from the parking spot. This helped expelled all the cigarette smoke in my lungs from the 2nd hand smoke. Trying to sleep was a struggle. Thumpity-thumpity-thumpity-thump in my mind. And getting up the next morning for my day job. After the day job, back to the club...cheers
I used to tape in Massachusetts every Sunday 98.5 WBRU and Providence Rhode Island and It was all the black experience in sound that's what it was called. There weren't any radio stations playing this music at the time in Massachusetts at least in my area where I lived and the only time I could get new music was it was on Sundays Sundays until around 5P 5 PM or so from 10 Am I believe. The sad part is I had probably about 10 mixtapes from then recording each Sunday songs that I liked when they came on they might have been sold or discarded when my mother sold her house else about 6 or 7 years ago.
The 1st song I ever recorded was DJ please pick up the phone off the request line and then the next song was Roxanne by UTFO. My cousin got me into hip hop he was from Brooklyn New York and he lived with us for 2 years his junior and senior year in high school in the early eighties and I don't remember how I found that radio station but maybe he was the one that Found it and recommended it to me while living with us in Massachusetts for those 2 years.
If the tapes he had and gave me were mixed tapes from D j's in the club and they were absolutely phenomenal And he was able to get in even though he was Underage.
I did the best I could with that 1 radio station and he used to take the tapes that I made each recording I would make during that day and cruise with his buddies while playing and said he loved My Passion for it and the songs that I would record.
I started recording in the 6th grade when I was 11 years old and I believe I finished recording according when I was 13 so I had 2 years of recordings before we moved to a new home in the same town. By then hip hop was taking hold In 1986 going into 1987 It became more mainstream.
Love this mix and remember remember hearing this song for the 1st time on the radio in the eighties and was blown away by it as much as I'm blown away now listening to it. Love the remix!

Hi Jose Vera. Thank you for listening and your kind comment. Have a healthy 2023!
This is so strange but this song always makes me think of an earthquake. I remember hearing it for the first time on a boom box in Saratoga, California in 1984 when I was fifteen and it was right before a small tremor hit. It kinda scared me and this song always brings back the memory. It's a cool song though regardless.

I USE TO HAVE A REEL TO REEL PIONEER IN GERMANY, BUT THE LEVELS AND SCREENS WAS DIGITAL, BLUE. I DON'T REMEMBER IF WAS 909 PIONEER REEL TO REEL. IT COST ME $650 IN THE MILITARY, BUT WHEN I RETURN TO PUERTO RICO 🇵🇷, STEREO WHAREHOUSE HAS IT FOR $1350 AT COST. RETAIL FOR $2000.
BACK ON 1983.
Hi @edwinb9276, Back in the 80s, Pioneer made the RT-909 Open ReelToReel deck that use both the conventional 7 inch and the professional 10.5 inch reels with the cool Blue Fluroscan meter. The RT-707 is more compact for me to travel with during my mobile gigs and taking it to the club. It has the analog meter to match my Pioneer Series20 components. Thank you for posting a comment. Be safe and stay healthy for the rest of the year and beyond. ...cjBlender
Best remix of that song. How can I get the mp3 version of it?
BTY, I read the description but still don't get how you made such a good remix with your equipment without having the multitracks.
Hi rannyz. Thank you for posting a comment. This RUclips channel is available 24/7, 365 and can be viewed with internet access. Bluetooth connected to the car audio system, at home or at work for your personal enjoyment. The Pioneer RT-707 Open Reel to Reel, quarter-inch, 2-channel analog tape recorder was used as the primary recorder along with the Pioneer SR-202W Reverb and the Pioneer RG-2 Dynamic Processor for mastering the final mix. At times, the Pioneer recorder could be used for playback with the turntables since it has a variable pitch control. Building the analog mix with multiple recording runs will degrade the sound. Then the Sony Betamax Stereo Audio recorder would be the primary for mastering to preserve the quality of high fidelity sound. Stay safe! ...cjBlender

@@sclubjockBlender I thought it was part of a mix from the WKTU radio as I assume this is mixed by the latin rascals. Maybe it's not.

My original comment got edited! plain and simple was this Done ROCKIN turntables or was this done falsetto !!“ >💩that’s what I want to know
Hi KINGRAMSES. Thank you for posting your comments and question. In addition to the description of this video, the mix was created during 1984-1985. This song was played 6-days of the week at the club by the request of club goers throughout the night. When a record is played excessively, the manager suggests new tunes. With the requests in my right ear and the manager in both ears to buy new records. So I had to appease both without eliminating the song from my playlist.
I probably couldn't have made this mix without the use of the Bi-Amp 4000 mixer and the reliable Technics SL1200MK2 turntables. I have tried many mixers throughout the club scene, even the Bozak rotary mixer. Nothing beats the Bi-Amp in performance and reliability. The mix during the intro is a technique used with the crossfader called "redundant crossfade ricochet" and later, during the "flanging" is the "overlay effects".
Thank you for listening.

Just catching up to my listeners...the lyrics is a little scrambled, but the message is clear. Love/Happy/Sadness are what we all go through in a relationship. The words are emotional and the beat is strong with a rhythmic hook to capture you and get you in the groove. That's why this tune lasted so long on the club's playlist. Thanks for listening. Stay healthy and the best is yet to come.
