I promise you, these artists are professionals and very good at recreating looks from pictures. The video is a fantastic idea because of highly detailed and instructive it is, old man mortician would love it. Back in 2015 my girl died from suicide and didn't have a bottom jaw, so the make up artists recreated her entire jaw based on a photo and she looked wonderfully intact at her open casket. I've got major respect for Mortician-MUAs

You actually can use normal makeup on dead bodies, some post mortem makeup artist actually use the deceased's makeup so that they can look like themselves even in death!

*certain makeup, I know any skin products have to be special for dead people, same with most creams. Anything that needs heat to be blended can’t be used. I think eyeshadow and powder can be used tho I’m not sure

@@arizenera8338 We really just use whatever the family gives us honestly. All of the makeup in this video can be used on a deceased person. Honestly I wish more people did videos like this, usually we just have to guess since we normally arent given photos or anything. If the family doesnt give us anything we just use some of the funeral home's reserve of (drugstore) makeup and match the skintone.

Morticians these days generally use airbrush makeup. By the way, embalming isn't great for the environment. I know this is tongue in cheek, but this is just for anyone out there who was wondering. You don't have to be embalmed.

Guys.. just because someone talks about their death doesn’t mean they’re automatically gonna kill themselves, this was obviously dark humor / a death positive video. It’s important for your family and the people caring for your body to know what you want if something happens to you and you pass away

Some Asian cultures start preparing for their deaths once they are middle aged and I think that is pretty great that they do this. 1. It normalizes death and doesn't make this natural occurance as tragic. Like why is it so taboo to talk about still? Why is it jynxing yourself to be prepared? 2. It saves the family from having to bear the burden of making all of the arrangements.

Just a quick tip, you should not add moisture to a corpse's skin, it accelerates the decay and may cause mold to eat away the skin, I love this look, it's a great idea. Anyway love you sweetheart, stay Fab

Yeah there are online resources for advance directives that Ask A Mortician talks about that you can fill in and update when your thoughts about your end of life care/funeral changes. It's super straight forward and free.99. I'm glad that this is something more people are thinking about bc if this asteroid don't take us out, we gotta figure our lives out lol

Morticians can use regular makeup alongside their professional grade products and most do because it looks natural, especially if the family is involved and brings in their loved one's makeup to use as that makes the body look normal/like they would have looked in every day life.
