I saw these sugar bees as well as Galaxy ones as well and wanted to do soaps with them. Think I might got back to the store and get then and start planning soaps for them
Hi Ellen! I too love Morouge fragrances! Especially because they are from Canada for shipping purposes. I use their coconut apricot wax for candles and wax melts also. Thanks for the tips. Enjoy your day❤
I made Maple pumpkin soap today! It doesn’t feel to much like fall yet, however I’m ready for cooler weather here in Indiana, and also less humidity! I’m just starting on fall soaps, I feel like maybe I’m behind a little. Love those honey bees. Great video Ellen, I appreciate the recipe, I just got some grass fed beef tallow can’t wait to try it. Take care😊

Beautiful soap Ellen! I hear you about the power cuts...oh my word, it happened to me once just as I was putting the stick blender in! Let me tell you, it was a hand-stirring bonanza 😂😂😶
Time to hit the antique store for one of those handheld blenders the grandma used to use. They look like a whisk. Thave a stirring mechanism attached to them might be good to have on hand. All you ladies that makes soap are such a blessing
Wilton 1A or 3M? I have watched older versions of this soap and I still have my sugar “bees” tucked away…need to make it!! Love your videos and soaps so much. Have learned a lot! I have soaps all over my two homes and mostly give them away as gifts! You are an inspiration!

Hello this is my first time visiting your Channel. What caught my attention was the bees. Yes I love bees and all the ways that they help us medicinally and in nature. The bars turned out beautifully. I have thought about making soap. There seems to be a lot involved that I do not know so my question may be silly but I was wondering why you did not put more honey into the soap. Will the honey smell and benefits still come thru? Thank you for your time and all the bee-auty you provide.
Welcome! Glad you found my channel💕 You could add a bit more honey than I did, but the natural honey scent doesn't really come thru after saponification🐝
Hi Ellen, I LOVE your videos, i have learned soooo much! I was wondering, I just found out my baby sister is having a baby!!! Do you have a baby soap recipe? Or do you recommend one of your soaps that would be good for babies? THANK YOU ❤
Hi Ellen. I love these soaps. I have a question on the ingredients, I’ve never used palm kernel oil. Where do I find it and is it a liquid? I appreciate your help and your kindness. I’m somewhat of a neighbor, I live in Knoxville TN. Been here my entire life. Thank you for this video. ❤️
You could replace the lard (pig fat) with tallow (beef or deer fat), or with palm oil. But if you change the recipe, you'll need to run the numbers thru soap calc to make sure your lye ratio is correct.
hello, i am from India and love you for teaching step by step soap making recipe. i am new in cold process soap making just made 3 times. i am planning to try your soap recipe but i am pure vegetarian. in some soap you use Lard which i can not use pls suggest something else to replace that thanks in advance
I love your channel. I'm a beekeeper. I also LOVE bumblebees ❤ no honey Excellent pollinators though. Carpenter bees AKA wood bees are bumping into you as a warning. They're not unintelligent not at all LOL they are highly intelligent just like all insects really. A honeybee will also bump you. They bump you as a warning that hey if you don't stop you're going to get the tail end😂 if you're wearing a bee suit they'll bounce right off of your screen. And they only do this when you are near their hive. They are protecting it. Just like your wood bees are protecting their nests when they are bumping into you. They're trying to let you know hey you're near my unborn babies go away. I almost bought those sugar bees at Walmart last year I should have. I believe that you have inspired me to make a goldenrod infused honey soap. Thank you love your channel and everything you do❤
Question. So if l want to create my signature soap l'd go to calculator and put in what oils and buttersto get lye/water ratio. Then add flavors like instant coffee's, fruits/veggies to get natural colors, EOs, ? Just searching my options. I want a close to natural as possibe. Thank you❤
Beautiful.. so have question… I do farmers markets and I usually sell my soap for 8 or three for 20 get one free…. But now I actually am cutting my bars to a bigger size.. 2” first off is that too big second I want to sell them now for either 9-10 a bar or buy three for 25 get one free…. Is that fair? Ya know since this crazy inflation going on…..
I price by weight of the soap. I cut mine at 1” for my tall and skinny bars and usually after cure, the weight is between 5-6 oz. I currently charge $10 each, but next year, they may be increasing to $12 each. But I always have smaller bars that are between 3-4 oz. And those I sell for $6 each. 4-5 oz. are $8 each… You get the picture. If I do a “standard” height and width bar, I’ll often cut at 1.5 inches thick to maintain a specific weight.
Hi new subsciber from Australia, fantastic videos very informative so helpful. Could you tell me the rate of titanium oxide, and what you mix it with ? Thanks 😊

Sorry, but I am new to soap making. What is meant by “gel” or not “gelling” the soap? Is this just refrigerating it for a bit of time?
Gelling is when the soap heats up (basically cooking) and goes thru the saponification process quicker.
