The bars turned out beautifully. I have thought about making soap. There seems to be a lot involved that I do not know so my question may be silly but I was wondering why you did not put more honey into the soap. Will the honey smell and benefits still come thru? Thank you for your time and all the bee-auty you provide.

    I love your channel. I'm a beekeeper. I also LOVE bumblebees ❤ no honey Excellent pollinators though. Carpenter bees AKA wood bees are bumping into you as a warning. They're not unintelligent not at all LOL they are highly intelligent just like all insects really. A honeybee will also bump you. They bump you as a warning that hey if you don't stop you're going to get the tail end😂 if you're wearing a bee suit they'll bounce right off of your screen. And they only do this when you are near their hive. They are protecting it. Just like your wood bees are protecting their nests when they are bumping into you. They're trying to let you know hey you're near my unborn babies go away. I almost bought those sugar bees at Walmart last year I should have. I believe that you have inspired me to make a goldenrod infused honey soap. Thank you love your channel and everything you do❤

    • @MsAubrey

      I price by weight of the soap. I cut mine at 1” for my tall and skinny bars and usually after cure, the weight is between 5-6 oz. I currently charge $10 each, but next year, they may be increasing to $12 each. But I always have smaller bars that are between 3-4 oz. And those I sell for $6 each. 4-5 oz. are $8 each…
      You get the picture. If I do a “standard” height and width bar, I’ll often cut at 1.5 inches thick to maintain a specific weight.

    I’m confused by your headline “Real Honey”. Genuine honey can only be honey…unless the industrialists have got near it - or like Maple Syrup there is a product masquerading as Honey - instead being mere coloured sugar water.
    I admire you for your passion albeit after headlining ‘real honey” you follow up by including synthetic fragrance 🤔 which is not healthy…for anyone.
    Btw - your poor real honey will have had its beneficial elements rendered null and void by the lye 😢
    I find by mixing it with a portion of one’s liquid element and then adding it at trace works well, by whisking it in 😊 Blessings 💜. // i prefer to gel too 😊😊. Just seen the final part - your swirls are divine and the end results look stunning❣️🌸🥂

    • @EllenRuthSoap

      The "real honey" is as opposed to honey scented fragrance..

    • @christeef6840
      @christeef6840 4 месяца назад +1

      She says "real" honey because she means she's adding actual honey to her soap - not just using a honey scented fragrance. She isn't claiming any health benefits from the honey so not sure why you needed to bring that up? There is a benefit of added lather from honey because it works exactly like sugar. And to each their own on what they add to their soaps - including fragrance. Many essential oils aren't safe either - for pets or people - and many synthetic fragrances have gotten cleaner with pthalates, parabens and many harmful ingredients removed so to each their own.

    • @brigidlaffey7343
      @brigidlaffey7343 4 месяца назад +1

      @@christeef6840 You’re stating the obvious. Naturally, I know that honey “acts like sugar” except treated with respect it also adds beneficial elements that sugar can’t and doesn’t. Which, actually, was my point - that which I was endeavouring to protect.
      I suggest you reread my comment and not falsely accuse me of intentions that you have read into it. My comment about the honey in lye, if you know anything about the effects of lye upon natural ingredients, was an educational suggestion, exactly as the one who suggested that Ellen add her honey to the lye - which would be detrimental to the active ingredients of the honey.
      Perhaps you only see honey as a sugar as opposed to a wonderful beneficial substance.
      Nowhere did I say that Ellen was making claims about the benefits of honey. Albeit the title ‘Real honey’ rather states that in itself.
      However- you do raise a point.
      I can tell you that when I see products labelled in such a way as to indicate ingredients that don’t actually exist, I feel incensed when I discover that their presence is falsified and that they are actually synthetic mimics.
      Given that these synthetic ingredients are unhealthy, makes it doubly worse than the misrepresentations.
      I agree wholeheartedly - chaque à son goût - to each their own.
      However I come from an overall Health perspective.
      Not everyone knows the negative effects of these ingredients. One doesn’t know what one doesn’t know.
      The fact that a product is hand made doesn’t mean that it’s healthy.
      I’m prepared to be the subject of criticism from the ignorant in order to educate others to the pitfalls of toxic ingredients.
      If people know they are toxic and still continue to utilise and/or purchase products with their inclusion- then indeed - Chacun à son goût - to each their own. But at least they are doing so being consciously aware of the possible negative effects.
      Used ‘correctly’ Essential Oils are safe. Much safer than fragrance oils - which whichever way you look at them- are neuro toxins.
      Used incorrectly- as with anything- which is rather my point - they can pose problems.
      However - apart from incorrect application - there is always a 1% chance of ‘individual’ sensitivity to an ingredient. That pertains to the individual, not the ingredient.
      Furthermore, I don’t believe that I made any reference to utilising Essential Oils- that is something you projected- falsely- onto my comment. Which by the way, was for Ellen.
      There is no requirement to include any fragrance - be it natural or synthetic- in soap.
      You seemed to conclude it a necessity for such, which, again, was foreign to my comment. Falsely projected onto me.
      By the Way- I am an accredited - Certified - Aromatherapist - thus am well aware of correct utilisation of Essential Oils. Coupled with a lifetime of practise in the field of Health, and associated experience and Qualifications.
      When, and if, I choose to incorporate them - EOs - into my practise, it is purely for efficacy as opposed to overblown fragrancing. Albeit they come with the beautiful blessing of gently, naturally, uplifting one through their gift of aroma. 😊
      Blessings upon Thee
      💜
