Thanks this was very helpful. For those of you having problems - you need to delete the old samples before importing new ones otherwise you will get error codes
So much useful info in little time, and your voice is very pleasant. My korg volca will arrive today, I'm getting super excited now. Great job on the videos and thank you.🙂
how to delete samples on volca: 1. while the volca is turned off, hold the mute button then press the ON button (the play + rec button will be blinking at the same time) 2. use the sample selector to choose which sample you want to delete 3. press the 'Part >' button, then you'll see 'dL' next to the chosen sample. (example: 23.dL ) 4. press 'Rec' until you see 'dTLE' to delete more samples, you'll have to turn off the volca and repeat steps 1 - 4 if anyone knows a faster way, feel free to lmk!
To delete multiple samples you can select each sample and delete it as a group. Just do as you usually do but select another sample for deletion, when you have marked down multiple samples with dl then you can press rec and it will delete all those samples
to use Vosyr, Connect an audio cable (headphone size) from the headphone out from the PC into the sync in of the Volca, set volume around 90% for pc and volca... click the "selected" box on the top right below the Vosyr label(make sure you have the sample/samples selected in Vosyr )...if there's an error message the sample may be to big so you may need to shorten the sample length, delete some of the pre installed samples from the volca itself or delete them through vosyr...Volca won't recognize the transfer if the pc volume is too low..The word DATA should appear on the volca screen while it transfers any new samples..hope this helps caustic only works for Ipads they discontinued the mac version around 2014 I believe
Is there a way to connect the Volca to Vosyr and see the CURRENT samples already on the Volca? That way I can decide what I want to delete or add using the program.
Eugenio Damián Fernández I sold mine so i’m not sure but i think you can always get them back by resetting the Volca. I don’t think tou can export them unless you sample them out from there.
Sadly it seems like you can't. Your best bet is to record your beats as loops, and/or record individual samples, and/or record stems through muting/soloing. Good luck.
My headphone port is broken, would i be able to use my audio interfaces's headphone out just as well if i make sure it's switched to the correct output?
Hey there, thank you for your walk through. I keep getting "err decod" and flashes from the programmable parameters would you by any chance know what is the solution to this problem? Thanks again.
Korg has a link on their Volca Sample downloads page that lets you download the factory presets. You can also factory reset it (though I'm not sure if this will actually reset to the original sounds, and if not, there's the download I just mentioned). Other than that, just save/backup all the sample upload projects you want to keep so you don't have to re-transfer from the Volca to the PC.
That is exactly what I want to do as well! There is not one single video I can find on that. I want to upload the originals, delete the ones I don't like and add new ones. I can do that with Caustic, but I really like the layout of this program.
If I understand you correctly, you would like to save what the volca sample processes so that you can keep your loops modified by the machine. If so, I suggest you connect your sound card to an Ableton/Logic software and record what the Korg outputs and then edit the recorded sampler.

How do you choose which factory sounds not to erase?
Hello, I'm a beginner to this instrument! Could you tell me what type of cord I need for the volca I'm assuming I need a 3.5mm to a 1/4 is this correct? Have a good day if you see this
I agree, but is it even possible with Vosyr or any other app to send things from the volca to the computer? - like sequences you made? i bought my volca second hand today and i want to save some of the sounds it has up to vosyr which i just installed - also a few beats i already made on it.

@@peterlukacs2373 Yes and if you want to save the individual sample tracks, solo one track, record it, solo the next one, record, etc. until you have all the layers.
That's why for me it is never a good idea record samples using an app like AudioPocket. It's helpful until you see that you have to carry on those samples in your device forever, or re-record them as audio file, re-edit, and if you've already edited in VS, you're going to lose everything (start point etc.) At least, this apps could let you save/export the samples as they are into a folder at mobile or tablet.
The Volca's can sync to your PC or Mac using the MIDI jack. You will need a MIDI interface or audio/MIDI interface connecting to your computer. Once installed, you can connect the MIDI out of your computer to Volca's MIDI input. For an audio output from the Volca to your computer, connect a 1/8" to 1/4" cable from the Volca output to your computer's audio interface. (1/8" inch connector to the Volca, 1/4" connector to your computer's audio interface.)
Hi, thanks for your video very helpful instructions. Do you know whereabouts the respective slots are. Where do the samples end up on volca? Mine are not turning up, I wonder if I must first delete some factory samples. also do you have to have the samples under 65sec? if they are longer would you recommend editing them them to be shorter? Thanks
You can pitch up longer samples so they take up less space & then down-pitch them on the Volca. It helps if you change the Global parameter settings to unrestrict the tempo from it's standard 56 BPM - 240 BPM range. This can be done very simply by holding the Function button down when powering the unit on. The word 'Glob' should appear. Press note key number 5 then hit REC. The unit will now boot. Hit 'tempo' and you'll notice it's range has changed to 10 BPM - 600 BPM ! ( 600 BPM Being Esp. Handy for Drones & Granular Synthesis type sounds). Hope this helps.
