- In today's video we're beginning our weekend getaway to Denali by driving from Anchorage to the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge, where we will be staying for the next couple of nights. Along the way we got the most amazing view of Denali on this perfectly sunny day! We give you a tour of the Denali Princess lodge, show you our amazing dinner at Fanny Q's Saloon, and then call it a night under the Midnight Sun!

I don't think I have ever heard anyone say "The mountain's out" outside of Washington and Oregon. But that totally makes that you would use that phrase in Alaska too!

This isn’t the lodge where cruisers stay when they’re doing a Princess land and water cruise, is it? This looks like such a great place to visit. I’d be reading all the signs and stories to learn all the history I could. I’ve never told you this, but I think you two are just the most adorable couple around. You say the sweetest things to Sheri all the time, and she obviously adores you. I can see the love in both your eyes every time you look at, or speak to/about each other! 😊❤🎉
Hi! Thank you for such kind words! Many of the Princess land tours do stay here at the Denali Princess! I think each itinerary is different, but many of them do stay here!
Wonderful Video capturing the area beautifully. My wife and I are anxiously awaiting the next episode in case there are additional items to look out for, as we are staying there next week on the 13th and 14th June with a Princess land based tour ahead of our first Alaskan cruise. It's going to be a shock compared to Australia the snow-covered mountains are magnificent. We also hope to join the 30% club.

Yes that was Denali from Broad Pass near Cantwell. It’s a rarity to see it from there

I became a member of the 30% club on Sept. 2, 2023 when driving up Parks Hwy near Denali State Park outlook parking lot. Denali was clearly visible that day and I shot some postcard worthy shots with only an iphone!

We stopped there back in Sept on our Princess cruisetour. Had dinner at Fannie Q’s. Sat at the high top table right next to the piano and sang soooo many songs with the piano player. Had a blast. Also had breakfast there. Delish!!
We stayed in that resort last September and eat at Grizzly Burger.
I love Fannie Q's. I love Princess Denali Wilderness Lodge. I love Denali. I had breakfast buffet there.
So breathtakingly gorgeous! I’m sure I told you before, when I went to Denali, I saw fog 15 feet in front of me. That just means I have to try again!!! ❤
So amazed when I lived there that landslide area just never grow back.

I loved watching your road trip to Denali! I spent a month in Alaska last summer and was one of the fortunate ones to be in the 30% club. Absolutely stunning!! I’m working on planning my next trip there. I love the “off the beaten path” sights. Any suggestions?
I was told the igloo couldn't be opened because it only had one entrance/exit so it was a fire hazard.

I decided they use the throw in place of the vinyl ones on the ship. It's a place to put your suitcase so the white comforter doesn't get dirty.
I'm coming back when the road opens up!

Such a beautiful day for this trip! I’ve been to a couple of the Princess lodges, but not this one. Thanks for the tour. They all have such beautiful settings. I especially loved the Keni Princess Lodge with a fireplace in the room. ❤️❤️
Kenai is definitely one of our favorite lodges! Hoping to make it back down there before this season is over

Yes, you CAN see Denali from Summit Lake! You can alsonsee her from Clear, Nenana and Fairbanks.
I forget the name of the caribou herd, but they follow (from a distance) the Denali Highway, pass by Summit Lake and head west during migration in August, then retrace their steps in February - March.
I've heard about the caribou herd that makes its way through that area! I would love to see them someday! Thank you for the info in your comment! Always so helpful!
