I think geodes are one of wonders of nature. So plain and unassuming on the outside, cut it open and it's "POW! How do you like me now?" One question, what causes the insides to be such different colors from one another? Is it where they are found and what minerals are around them? Will you be slabbing any of these? Those friends who sent all these are keepers, for sure. Thanks for sharing these beauties.

The geodes are like Christmas presents cause we don't know what's in them til they're opened! That last big one was soo cool! Would be the best desk piece polished and leveled to sit! Wow! That was so much fun to watch! Would the honey colored crystals be considered citrine? I understand citrine to be heat treated amethyst/quartz but get a little confused on the difference between that and mineral seepage (ie copper, iron) causing the color. Either way, they are all just beautiful!
Beautiful geodes Tyler and Alex sent you. I'm the least lucky guy when it comes to finding them they're always solid all the way through. I even purchased 4 Sonoran amethyst geodes uncut from a place and wouldn't you know it? No caverns in them either lol. Maybe some day
15:19-15:24, in the center, white chalcedony/agate? also 14:17-14:23, the little botroydal cave at the left part of the geode, is it made of white chalcedony/agate?

here in indiana there are a lot of those geodes .i have cut a few of them some have large points and some small never the same but cool to open.to me most of the ones that are whiter on the out side have the bigger openings in side.love all your show that for making them.
@@AgateDad cause you don’t pull on crystals like that! Lol. Geode collectors leave them as is, ESPECIALLY if it’s lose in there. Secondary crystals anyways. You’re fine though do as you please! 😂🤣
@@AgateDad I’ve got a few that I’ve pulled the secondary crystals out of. Cracked one that had some beautiful honey colored barite with goethite inclusions. Had to take it out to see the beauty it hid inside! I’ll email you some pics!😉
Glad I know now! You'll just have to send me more so I can make up for it and not pull any out. So funny learning these things along the way, like how not to make people dry heave 😄
What saw do you use? Also, how were the huge ones opened up. Doesn’t look like a saw because they are not perfectly smooth. Either way thank you for this video. My daughter and I just found a bunch of geodes a few hours from our house and we want to open them up but not just shatter them into a million pieces.

The are definitely more beautiful dry then wet. I get cleaning them.. but dry in sunlight is amazing!
