    BEST VID EVER!!! Thank you SO much! We had a booking at the Sistine Chapel at 12:30 pm. We docked at the port, were first off the boat per your instructions, caught the taxi, then the train - deviated slightly (due to our booking) and went all the way to the main station, found the metro line and started your tour at the Colosseum using Komoot - it was PERFECT!! We saw all the sites, took amazing pics, we even tried the “Jewish pizza” (not a fan) & Pisa M’Po 🍕(HUGE fans!!!)… it was 38 degrees out & yet we made it all in good time - including the guided tour of the Sistine Chapel and back to the boat with more than an hour to spare. Thank you! Thank you!! Not just for your great advice but also for taking the time to put it all together so very carefully!! We were absolutely awe-struck by the magic of Rome - all thanks to you! Grateful! Mike & Mich T (Durban, South Africa) 🇿🇦

      Hey Mike and Mich! Great to hear it worked out for you guys! I’m planning the same trip for our family this December and we’re in the same situation with the timed ticket to the museum. Did you guys have enough time to visit St Peter Basilica as well during the short visit? We really want to be there, not sure if it’s feasible! Also, if the cruise is scheduled to leave at 7, what time should we start heading back from the Vatican?

    Definitely agree with the previous comment, the BEST VIDEO EVER! Thank you for putting on so many information into great details, and making it super easy to learn to follow! Thank you again!! Our cruise is scheduled to dock from 7am to 7pm on Dec 16th this year. We wanted to do both St Peter Basilica and Vatican Museum. Unfortunately, the only available timed tickets for the museum either 8:30am or 12pm onward on that day. Even if we buy the train tickets in advance, would you think that getting there at 8:30 is doable? That’d be nice because we can line up for St Peter Basilica afterward, and spend whatever time we have left to walk your Rome tour!! Otherwise, do you think it’s overly ambitious if we do Rome in the morning (mainly the Colosseum and the Pantheon), then head to the Vatican before noon and book the museum around 1, and heading straight back afterwards? How long should we expect to walk the route you recommended? Thank you again very much for your help! Wish you all the best!!!

    • @RozierRoma
      @RozierRoma  26 дней назад +1

      Boats usually arrive a little before the stated time. If you get off the boat first thing, and head to the train, get ticket for train and get off at the Vatican train station. It is about 15 minute walk from there to the Museum. Do not go all the way into Termini or you will just have to double back to the Vatican. Also lets say you purchase a train ticket for 7:15 but you miss that train the ticket is still good for next train so do not worry too much, just validate the ticket and you are good. Only high speed trains are for a specific time even through when you purchase it says it is for a specific time it really is not. Now that is out of the way. I would try to get the earlier tickets and try hard to get there and I think they have a little grace period it think 30 minutes? Not sure on that. Then when you are finished you can get see St Peters Basilican and Dec 16 the lines will not be that long. You will be done with the Vatican about noon giving you 4 to 5 hours to explore the city. Walking time for the GPS is about 1.5 hours place all the extra time for pictures, eating and you know enjoying the walk. 3.5 hours should be good! Well that is what I would do anyways. Trust your gut and go with it! I hope you have a great day in Rome!

    I've been watching videos for months trying to plan our 1 day in Rome, this is exactly what I've been looking for. My wife and I are early risers, so we'll be standing by the exit door on the ship by 6:30! My only concern is that I've purchased Train tickets on the app (trying to beat the lines), but I was unsure what time to get so i got tickets for 7:58 and 8:42. After watching your video, I feel like I should change it to 7:30-7:45. Our plan was to hit the Vatican first and work back into Rome and we have a 5:45pm train back to Civitavecchia

    • @RozierRoma
      @RozierRoma  6 месяцев назад +2

      The time on the tickets is not binding you can use it for earlier or later trains. Just validate on app before departure. Only trains with assigned seats are for a specific date and time. Hope you have a great time!!

    • @RozierRoma
      @RozierRoma  9 месяцев назад

      If you get to the Vatican forst thing in the morning (by 8:30am) lines will be minimal and you will not need skip the line tickets. The skip the line are for the Vat museum only and some also include entrance into the basilica. Once you get to the colosseum the walking part is just over 3 miles about 1 hour but you will have 5 to 6 hours to do it in so it will be a relaxed pace for sure. I hope you give it a try.

    • @RozierRoma

      2 hours inside St Peters is kinda what I budgeted, If you want to see the museum you will need to plan for another 2 to 3 hours. If you only have 1 day in Rome I recommend just seeing the St Peter"s Basilica and than spend the rest of your time exploring the city. The option of beginning and ending in Rome I think would be better, but if you only have one day you can do lots if you have a good plan

      Kind of a hard decision, but for me, I would pick Tivoli. It’s an easy train ride about 45 minutes and cost under three euros. Each way trains leave two or three times an hour so it’s easy to get there and back. Tivoli is small enough that you won’t need a buss or taxi. I don’t think you will regret going to Tivoli. Villa Borghese is almost as big as the whole town of Tivoli. I think Tivoli will be more memorable and the train ride out and back is very pleasant

    • @RozierRoma
      @RozierRoma  8 месяцев назад +1

      The only skip the line tickets that you need are for Vatican Museum. All tickets for the Colosseum need to be purchased online and are for a specific time and day. So all are skip the line. The Pantheon you can purchase skip the line tickets but I usually just get them on site. There are 2 lines at the Pantheon, one for cash and the other for credit and a third for advanced purchase. Right out front they have a QR code you can scan to purchase and you can usually get tickets for immediate entry.
      Even if you are in Rome for several days you should give the walking part of Itinerary a try. Have a great time.

      I do not have any videos about it, but it is very safe to use credit card. In fact, it’s preferred and very common. I use cards pretty much for everything, except for like open markets. You are not charged extra fees just the going rate, but if if you convert dollars to euros then there is a markup for the cash so it actually cost more to use cash not much but a little more to use cash. You still need cash from time to time but 90% of your purchase can be on credit card , even taxis
