A heated island countertop? I hope I don't sound like an old man yelling at the clouds but have people not heard of sweaters? If it's a chilly morning and you dread leaning against the cold stone countertop you can put on a sweater. Bonus, the sweater goes with you after you leave the kitchen.

I dont think we need to worry about trends. I work in the building industry and the main thing at the moment is supply of materials due to covid. So build sustainably. Re-use materials when you can. Hopefully we can start implementing that more consistently.
