Replacing a USB C connector with drag soldering

  • This is a quick demo for a reddit user who wanted to know how to replace a USB C connector with a soldering iron. The tip used here is 0.031", solder is 0.020", and the flux is Kester 2331-ZX. This attempt was a little clumsy due to the tripod being in the way.

    1. That's not how you are supposed to drag-solder. Too little flux, and never ever add any solder while dragging. Never ever add any at all, in fact: all the solder should initially either be on the tip or on the first pins. 2. Good luck dragging an actual Type-C (those 24-pin ones) ;)
