    Me seeing N'kari only worth playing once lol. Ok I think I am alone on this, but I really enjoy Slaanesh a lot, and he becames one of my favourite faction to play. I have played N'kari multiple legendary campaigns in RoC and IE, what I like to do is to completly subjugate every foes as fast as possible by first: make sure to have a steady huge income on devotee by giving the gift of Slaanesh to anybody. To do that, you need to have a tons of cultist, so you need a hundred of cults to be set anywhere to increase subjugate factor for the humanoid faction and to have a cultists hero increase of capacity slot. Then each ten turn you can subjugate any factions you want. There is also the pink blitz I would call that means that every cults you have set can summon a devotee army, that means that you can actually destroy the building you have made on every ennemy settlement, then build the one that summon the devotee army. And so you can turn one large continent for you by easily take out every minor settlements in 1 turn, and after the big colonies with multiple devotee armies. There is also the huge advantage of Slaanesh that is to summon a complete army of devotee with ease on a province with huge Slaanesh corruption, you will end with dozen and dozen of free devotee armies to support your main armies. Slaanesh is for me the most OP broken faction in mid late game when you know what to do to exploit all of their strength.
    The way I play Slaanesh I think is not something that everyone could get immediately as a good plan to broke the game in their first campaign. Also I recognize that Slaanesh have flaws like you need to fight a lot of battle manually or you will get fuck by the auto resolve. Also, the way I play them is to make a lot of actions per turn and it could be annoying for a lot of people I think. The lack of casuality resplenishment also. So yeah I would still recommend to play N'kari at least once. But if you want to play Slaanesh like a true slaaneshi cultist as myself, it will need multiple runs.
    I would love to be able to control my vassals more, I think it would be good addition for Slaanesh ==> maybe on the next dlc after Khorne. I was hoping for Slaanesh first but I was dissapointed that Khorne has stolen the show. I can't wait to have another Slaaneshi campaigns to play.

Stick a Warrior Priest with them to buff them further and they will roll over just about anything. The game is trivial early on if you give them red line buffs. A single stack of flagellants in the beginning of the campaign will crush Mannfred, Settra and Skarbrand. It isn't close and it isn't challenging.

    I guess everyone has different opinions on what they are looking for in a campaign. Teclis is an amazing spellcaster and fun Hero. Also, being down south away from other elves, in hostile territory, having to fight a difficult war against Tzeentch and Slaanesh and having to deal with hostile territory... it's just really challenging and fun. You have to play your best in order to even come out on top in the beginning and those challenges continue onwards.

      Changeling is really fun. The easiness of his campaign delivers the one thing that concept of Build-A-Daemon promises but never makes good on, FREEDOM. The freedom to tell your own story, to go where you want, do what you want, fight who you want, becoming any number of the best character forms in the game by bringing them down in combat or allying with them, and just MESSING with factions, and delivering on the promise that Tzeentch always makes but Kairos at least never keeps, being an absolute inciter of chaos and discord and manipulating the campaign map like no one else, both with your Changing Of The Ways cheat codes and via strategic insertion of your intervening armies at critical times.

      The problem with that idea is that by the time you get to Ulthuan, Morathi will have already rolled over the entire island.
      N'kari just showed up in Ulthuan one day in the lore (a day in which there was a magic breakdown, sure, but still). N'kari's campaign should be about enslaving and killing elves -- not wasting time in some other corner of the map before leisurely strolling down to Ulthuan to find Tyrion already dead.

    I have to disagree with Ghorst. Zombies are a unit rarely used with the other LL. Ghorst turns them into a perfect frontline unit, an anvil. You can then use any unit to become the hammer and have fun with this faction. It's not so different from the skelleton spearmen that the other LL uses.
    Regarding location, it gives you a thematic campaign killing the guy that killed Ghorst family and for the late game you can chose to combat ogres, Chorfs or Cathai, enemies you would likely never encounter with the other LL.
    Ghorst used to be dog sh*t, but at the moment, it is quite a fun campaign.

  • @jfgresham

    i actually like N'kari's campaign, although I typically don't choose to vassalize anyone that doesn't already spread Slaanesh corruption, or at least won't get rid of the meager amount from diplomacy with their buildings: I definitely would like to see domination somehow cause the dominated faction to stop fighting Slaanesh corruption somehow, and reliably. Anyway, I will admit that N'kari's unit roster feels incomplete and annoyingly fragile without the Champions of Chaos DLC. But if you do have the Champions of Chaos DLC, the hellscourge chaos warriors and chosen are amazingly durable and versatile with charge reflection and expert charge defense against everything, and the Chaos Lord of Slaanesh is a very good resource in the early game for rampaging through Chrace, Cothique and the rest of the elven cities because it can hold out against and grind down lots of elven spearmen and archers. Sieges are less fun than field battles in which you can go wide and flank and surround and smother the archers in marauders or whatever, sure, but N'kari does have tools to make them not so bad (magic, good characters and later on single entity monsters.) For field battles, Slaanesh have some really fun units for quickly breaking and routing enemies with flanking attacks and that means a lot to me. N'kari is fun if you really like flanking and surrounding and using melee defense debuffs to allow your units to quickly rip apart even strong melee fighters. Bonus if you also like calculating which buildings and how many to get your settlements to always be below -50 control without needing further attention or rebelling.
    It does seem like it would be awful to play without the Champions of Chaos DLC, though. And it really helps to know how to misdirect the AI on siege maps in order to get units on the other side of the walls without too much opposition. Would not recommend as anyone's first total warhammer campaign. As for replenishment, I think it might be that everyone else has too much of it rather than Slaanesh having too little.

    I definitely get the perspective that the Books of Nagash system is half-baked, but I don't think having two port settlements at the beginning would hurt him all that much. For me at least, I always focus on first growth, then cash at the beginning of my campaign, and ports help with both. Plus it seems like you can recruit Flagellants immediately, so you can at least access one of Volkmar's signature units right away. Having to go fight Kairos for a short campaign victory is rough though, definitely agree with you on that point.

  • @adrienwarad
    @adrienwarad 3 месяца назад +4

    my bet is CA's announcement about entire rework of the whole cult system will affect heavily the changelin, reworking the whole system will surely affect him in a "heavy rework way"
    volkmar's flagellants are OP only after getting their unique techs + all regular buffs => free compagnies are the one to go for, they are freaking OP in volkmar's army
    i understand about ghorst vision, he can be affected by the vampire rework (when it comes), but i feel thats a very good campaign (bias, i love the whole race)
    => yes zombies are op and create a "nurgle gameplay, slow and boring in a way" BUT you also can fill up like 5-10 zombies per army and use the rest of the army for the things you want to get your variety without losing viability
    a lot of the campaigns are more roleplays and personnal challenges than "real challenges from the game"
    => reworks should always add more options and fun, AND BRING BOOKS OF NAGASH THROUGH ALLIANCES / DIPLOMACY DAMNIT (it would damn fix the system for 6 factions !)

    Jeez Volkmar's crusade used to be the best empire campaign before ToD. I think the objective defeating Kairos is not that bad cause in nearly all (!) my Volkmar campaigns Kairos destroyed Oxyotl, Tictacto and Kroq'gar so he is at the southern border and war is inevitable anyway. I am just not sure what empire units are good vs Tzeentch but everything with magical attacks, right?!
    @Costin Gaming: You made a quite naive move in your Teclis campaign. Why not sending your main army to invade Kairos? He is quite a monster early game. It is very impressive tho how you manage to have 3 stacks on turn 8 without negative income.
    Strategy against Kairos: Eagles. Recruit 3 eagles + frost phoenix and goon the big bird. This makes defeating Kairos early game a cakewalk.

    I completely agree with you on the Slaanesh... plain, one dimensional roster, seducing actually isn't seducing - it's bribing because you actually use money for it - terrible for economy. Playing with vassals might be considered fun by some but for me it is absolutely boring. Slaanesh's tech tree does provide next to nothing in terms of boosts for units. You will have to fight a lot of battles manually and that is a micromanagement hell. Your replenishment sucks, so you have to be that much more careful. And all of that is highlighted by the fact that you literally don't have any other option of how to play Slaaneshi campaign...

  • @СергейПарамонов-ч9в
    @СергейПарамонов-ч9в 3 месяца назад

    Well, first of all, IE campaign is a sandbox, you dont have to play as a particular lord in most of the cases and you dont have to follow vanilla objectives:
    1. No one is forcing Ghorst to stack 20 zombies, other units are not locked, it is not Ostankiya. 7-9 zombies and 2 carts are more than enough to execute zombiehorde strategy. Mix it with whatever you want for the rest of the army slots.
    2. Ports are growth+income that use 1 building slot, it is a bonus, not a limitation of options, come on. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Volkmar campaign.
    3. Partially true, because on higher difficulties to abandon Ulthuian is the most likely option. Nkari can settle almost anywhere else to execute his force vassalization, but this mechanic is not much of a fun inself, i agree indeed
    4. You got it wrong with Teclis. First, you secure mainland regions and wait for Oxyotl to clash with Kairos. After defeating southern chaos factions you should obviously seek confederation with Ulthian, if you intend to continue his campaign. And only after that it is reasonable to move to Lustria for invasion
    5. So true, Changeling in current state is more of an endturn simulator

    The changeling should be reworked to trigger ''end game crisis'' that focus on one specific faction at a time... By that I mean if you trigger Orks ''crisis'' the armies that spawn become your puppets until they are wiped out. Yes id give him the ability to trigger all of them at the same time. Sure most of his campaign would remain quite stale but atleast you could time things properly and just unleash a 200% end game crisis on the whole world at the same time and feel like you worked toward something.
