The best supercars came out in the 1980s and 1990s. Lovely machine, and you can tell the manufacturers loved creating these machines like the XJ220 as an example.
I don't trust most of the reviews of Italian cars. I Drive a 2010 Lancia Delta 1.6 and beside some minor maintenance problems the car has been very reliable.
@@AlfaGuy2 It's what sets your channel apart! Obviously new footage is better than no footage, but you've shown me so many clips I've never seen anywhere else! Thanks for all the effort you put into your videos.
I missed this channel. Its funny how some cars from your old videos were found now and are on youtube, especially (crazy 80's tunner cars) all the mercedeses that are in Miami.
This and EB110 are my favorite supercars of all time, went to the Linfox museum and everyone was looking at the F40, I was drooling at the xj220 and XKR-15 and 959, and no I am not a Jag fan, credit where credit is due absolutely beautiful cars. They also had the f50,
Dunno if anyone remembers, but some of the XJ220 pre-order customers were royally PISSED OFF with the spec changing after they had already given cheques to Jag. In the car magazines there were articles about it off and on around the time, so the launch from that aspect didn't go as "smoothly" as it sounds here. It may have something to do with the recession for some customers but certainly not all of them, since some of the customers who wanted to cancel were 'oil sheikhs' so to speak, people who certainly were not hurting for money. The courts etc can go stuff themselves, regardless of what they think - they were wrong, you can't sell a V12 car and then deliver a V6 car and somehow this is okay. "love that it deserved" is very debatable, it was a very fast car but like many things of that era it was also very dangerously close to being an all out scam. If the car is removed from all the controversy and seen just as a car, it's interesting and kinda different, but realistically I don't find it odd that it never quite reached the desirability of the real white whales of the era like the EB110 which did actually deliver the mind bendingly crazy spec they had promised - and the company then immediately went bust. TWR is a whole other can of worms, several interesting cars had involvement of them/him around the time but all of them were - ehm - problematic in some way. All were over promised and under delivered in some form, it was more or less the pattern then. Makes for interesting cars mostly sitting in museums or collections now, which isn't all that strange given their stories.
I'm personally of the idea that the car was killed due to the financial problems of the the time like the rest of the supercars of time. The changes of course played a big role, even in 2024 people find it hard to accept V6 engines on supercars let alone in the early 90s.
@@AlfaGuy2 It could be that they 'scaled back' the project due to the financial malaise going around at the time, it was a time when economies all over were in trouble to some degree. But the thing could have done far better in terms of reputation and sales if they had stuck to the touted v12 idea. The thing is, having a v10 or v12 is what MAKES a car a supercar to a lot of people. The F40 had the same 'problem' in its day, a lot of Ferrarista passed it over because it was a V8. I mean people who did have a Testarossa and their "name on the list" so to speak. I lived in Italy at the time, the F40 was not popular among certain types.
It was meant to go to production, but it didn't go because Vector was acquired by Megatech who build M12. That's why the WX3 and M12 look very similar.
Thanks!
Content is so good 😅 I would like to see a 1 hour long video of the porsche 996 turbo thanks😅
Thank you so much man. A 996 video would definitely be over 1 hour long.
he was the greatest he was the alfa and he is back back again
This guy is the hero for anyone who grew up in the 80s and 90s and loves cars and tuning. So glad you are back !
Happy to be back bro. Definitely one the best eras.
Simply the best automotive history channel on RUclips. Bar none. Good to have you back 👍👍👍
Yup❤
Thanks bro, happy to be back.
He’s back! My fav auto channel.
Happy to be back.

Yes they were the best, also there was a rivalry between brands. No to mention that they were all analog.
What a blessing! 33 minutes. Can't wait till this evening when i have time to watch. Thanks Alfa Guy!
Love making this long videos.
Most Alfa car channel ever!!!
He’s baaaaack!
He's back!
Great vid AG! Nice to seei'm not the only one that drools over the Silk Cut XJR-14, looks way ahead of it's time!
Love tobacco liveries in general but Silk Cut is truly special, not to mention the XJR-14.
@@AlfaGuy2 Likewise! First thing I do in most driving games is find the most Group C looking car in the game & make the Silk Cut liveries lol :)
So happy this man is uploading again
Very good, as usual! Hope there's more to come...

Missed your channel :) Thank you for making new content, I will always hit like to get the RUclips algorithm to notice your content! Best
WOW. gimme more. btw just bought an alfa. Promise I will look every video 10x.
Great man, what model?
@@AlfaGuy2 her name is Giulia and she is tributo italiano so nicer veloce. She is perfect. Of course she is
@SuperJapierdole Awesome bro. I'm hoping to buy a 159 at the moment even though I also love the 166 since it also came withe the Busso.
@@AlfaGuy2 good luck finding the one to love! I'd love to drive 166. What a line. But heard 159 is better in reliability

Excellent content as always! I learned several things from this and really enjoy seeing all the original footage you can dig up.
That's the hardest part, I'm obsessed with using only period footage and nothing else, but it's very hard to find them some times.

Amazing alpha guy thank you so much great footage and naration❤😮
I'm a V6 guy i love this car
Love them too. I would love to own a Alfa with a Busso V6.

I don't want to get credit for that, but my videos introduced those tuners to many people.
Great Video! May I ask what car you drive in reallife?
2010 Lancia Delta 1.6 Multijet
Yes good news Alfa is back in full form as usual ok lol
😊😊😊😮😮😮😂😂😂
HE'S BACKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HE'S BACK!!!! 💪
One of the last truly cool and beautiful supercars in my opinion.
Totally agree.
Best looking car of the 90s
I love the EB110 and F50 a bit more, but definitely up there with the best.
Hes back!!
Back in the 90’s i used to think that the 220 looked ugly, but hey it was cool as heck.
Have I died and gone to heaven?

Yesssss
I like so much that vhs vibes
Wish I could afford one of these
Greetings !!!
I always confuse tvr and twr.

I absolutely love your videos! But I don’t like this car that much, I’d much rather have an XJR-15, or an XK-120.
Yeah I also prefer the XJR-15, and D and C type way more, I love pre war up to 50s cars in general.
I thought the Vector WX-3 shown was just a Concept car!

@@AlfaGuy2 I like the Avtech WX-3 with its star shaped mag wheels way better than the M12. The WX-3 is to the M12 what the Countach is to the Diablo.
