Idgaf what anyone says.....they absolutely botched his character. I am a huge fan. I've watched every season 3 or 4x each. Hands down one of the best series in the history of television, but still....his character progression made absolutely no fucking sense. None. Go back and watch. He was one of the heroes of season 3. He then gets shot, watches John die, has the fucking mafia visit him while recovering, kill his bodyguard, put a gun to his head....then tells the KID that his own fucking MOTHER had made a deal with them to spare his life....one that apparently was known to Tommy the entire time. He tells his mom that's not right, tries to talk her out of It. Of course, it was all bs. He neglects to tell Tommy this, because again, it was his fucking MOTHER who he would be SENTENCING TO DEATH by doing so
So, he's lost all of Tommy's trust but is sent to America to oversee the most important parts of the Shelby empire, comes back after wall street collapses, wants to be forgiven for fucking up and not selling before the collapse (Because EVERYONE was lied to about what was happening, even in real life) gets accepted back into the company at the end of season 5, and before Tommy can even get finished informing the rest of the family at the meeting, he suddenly stands up and says he should be the king, fuck all of you. That's fucking ridiculous. Objectively absurd.
