A little tip I heard about was when boating , camping and storing food on long voyages don’t use card board boxes to store food in and take the labels of all your can goods, scrape any remaining glue and crap off the cans and write with a permanent marker on the top of the cans what they are. This will help keep your bug problems down. Especially with cockroaches. They love hiding in boxes and underneath the labels as babies. They eat the glue.

Awesome journey! Don't give up. In my younger days I was the eccentric traveler of my family. I have been to everywhere except Florida. Twice around the world in both directions. Some in posh conditions, some on foot and every mode in between.
I don't have a damn thing to show for it all, except the memories and I would NOT trade them for all the riches of the world. HA, what am I saying... I have seen, smelled, tasted, heard, touched, loved and lost ALL OF THE WORLDS RICHES.
    AND WORTH EVERY SECOND!

It's a trade off. You could have stayed on land and kept your head down for thirty years working and saving. You would be set up then for an enjoyable third part of life.
