    Great addition Zak! She is beautiful! The Rio Grande had the best sceme and colors! Now Wheeling & Lake Erie took it over and they have a couple old Rio Grande's in the fleet!! As always great video........

    Not sure if you knew this but the EMD SD-45 was the first EMD to feature a 20 cylinder engine. Railroads wanted more horsepower so they run less locomotive units. Rio Grande bought mainly EMD units for road locomotives. MTH did a great job on the paint. The cab chatter blows away Lionel. However the non flanged wheels on one axle on each truck drive me crazy but I guess that is why MTH runs on 042. The Lionel Legacy diesel locomotives have all flanged wheels. The TMCC had non flanged wheels on the back axle. I love the horn but hate the quilable horn. Sounds like MTH recorded someone hitting 3 different keys on a pipe organ. All in all a nice locomotive .

    That Rio Grande is sweet!!! The platform looks great too. I don’t know if people call train layouts platforms anymore but that’s what we called them in the 50s and 60s.

    Always liked the livery of Rio Grande & Western, Zack! That's a great looking model you've got: Great detail and sound! It's too new to be a treasure yet, but a really cool model to add to the layout. I see you've got much of the town set up, too! Looks awesome!

    Mth had what everyone wanted scale engines that could be made into 2 rail beauties if you wanted.

    Agree Zak. Nice looking. Quillable horn sounds like three harmonica players. Definitely better looking than trainmaster you traded in. Besides, you have 20 cylinders of prime mover now. Hustle muscle.

    Like how the layout is coming together, easing into it and not rushing to get it done. This engine is a nice smoker and will fit your style of smoking up the joint - HA! The new box cars you got look good and the last car is Hugh, compared to the caboose.

    By the way, layout is really looking good.
    Last thought on crew talk. Thought the guy was going to say he needed his union break so he could take a dump. Crew talk is too chatty cathy imho.

      I kinda cringed at the dialogue, it sounded like a cheesy 1950's "bad movie" :D. I participated in a voiceover session for one of MTH's diesels, and had to constantly remind the session that crewmembers conversing in the cab wouldn't address each other by title.

    That’s a nice looking Denver and rio grande western emd sd45 you have! Btw could i run some premier mth stuff on o27 track? Btw thanks for sharing! Matt k

    • @CountryBunkersTrains
      @CountryBunkersTrains  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Matt!! Some of the smaller premier engines would probably run on O27, but the premier stuff usually like the wider radius curves.

    • @MattKonsol
      @MattKonsol 3 года назад

      @@CountryBunkersTrains like o31 I suppose

    • @TheLEMRR
      @TheLEMRR 2 года назад +1

      @@MattKonsol the 4-axle diesels can usually do O-31 no problem, but on the 6-axle units you'd need to look at where the blank flange wheelset is mounted. If it is in the end of the bogie, then they can handle O-31 (older Premier and all RK & RK scale); if the blank set is in the middle, then O-42 is about as tight as you can go - possibly O-36 on the right unit rolling on good track at lower speeds.

    If I got two powered engines like that, how do you run them front to back? Can you do it in conventional mode?

    • @CountryBunkersTrains
      @CountryBunkersTrains  3 года назад

      These are running via DCS. I did a little tutorial on the lash ups with DCS. Conventional would be a little harder but do able I believe. I haven’t tried it.
