I think with how broken carries are in this game, defenders getting buffs are justified. There are a lot of esports pro wannabes in solo q who never understands roles and always pick their shiny carries without considering the team comp. Buffed defenders humbles these players, and maybe we see more people getting annoyed by defenders and start actually trying them out.

All you got to do is STOP spamming (hdro and surf same time) first you reach third hit(yellow bar) stop and now use hydro and then use basic attack (burst damage with move and basic attack ) now for surf you use it that way you can be sure hitting surf and repeat this combo( yes it work when theres team fight).hydro combo works even with rapid when it's not available to use again.this way you don't like players who rans out of move set to use for spamming and not using combo skill. Key to Blastoise is know how to use its 3 hit combo for that -1 cooldn not spamming not waiting for one use and then the other no just need to combo it like i said this way you can keep up with what going on in the match and move sets are lock anf loaded. Small tip leave headbutt for dodging and for use let it be when theres enemies on your plain. I would be 50/50 agree and disagree. I disagree that it was a mistake on everything else. The mistake is definitely Water Spout not getting a buff back to normal. It makes no sense having its damage nerf as it has done nothing wrong, even with Rapid Spin combo.
Regular auto attacks use physical attatck stat irrespective of a pokemon being physical or special. Muscle band gives decent attack speed to get to your boosted auto which uses special attack stat, but the major advantage is that you get damage based on target HP and not your own stat. Since wild pokemons have high HP, you do significant damage with pokemons that usually have low attack stat. This works well for special attack supporter and defenders.
Till this very day, I still think that the movement effects for that Blastoise skin look out of place. It doesn't even match the skin collor pallete, neither it's theme

As Blastoise, you basic attack a LOT. The boosted basic reduces the cooldown of your moves by 1 whole second.
