I learned a loooot on this day and while editing. If I missed any information or you have something cool to share, plz do here or in the comment section ❤️ Thanks to Shao for showing me around Hsinchu !!
I'm moving to Taiwan soon so I showed my mom your channel. She watched your costco episode first (she loves costco) and then we binged 10 more Taiwan eps (≧▽≦) she subscribed and loves loves your travel videos 😊 it gives her reassurance that I'll be safe while solo traveling around Taiwan
Ohhhh hi mom !! 👋🏻 Taiwan is fairly safe I think for solo travel. Just always stay street smart though even if a place is safe ✨ And exciting you’ll move here soon ~
As an Indigenous person myself, this really makes me happy that you are learning about local Indigenous cultures in your new home of Taiwan! Its incredibly important to learn about the land and I encourage everyone to learn about Indigenous cultures locally and also globally when you travel to a new place. Nya:weh (thank you in Cayuga)
I'm glad you showed the bridge from a distance before you actually showed us the view from it. I appreciate that gentle introduction when you risk your life in front of us. I'm glad you're showing Taiwan's cities, towns, and mountain communities giving us a sense of the whole country and different lifestyles found there.
There are 16 indigenous tribes that have been recognized by the government of Taiwan to this moment but they have more than 1,000 settlements or villages around the island. Their cultures and languages are various and sundry but there all belong to Austranesian people who spread the Pacific from Taiwan to Maori in New Zealand. According to the recent researches, Taiwan was the original place of Austranesian people because almost all the tribes in the Pacific can find their language elements in Taiwan and not only the number of 1 to 10 sounds similar but also the organs or features in the face like eyes are pronounced similar too.
@@LayersOfJenn I once attended their yearly festival called illisin (豐年祭). Some of their elders had been to southeast Asia before and they told me out of 10 organs on the body, at least 5 organs sound exactly the same way or similar among their languages.
What a fun video! Love learning more and more about Taiwan thru your eyes! And I love all your new friends! Hopefully when things get better and open up, I can visit Taiwan someday!
The mountain chicken has a better flavor because they are free to do exercise everyday, they are not restricted in the feeding room growing together. You can tell from its yellow skin color and more fat than regular chicken. As for the indigenous culture adventure, that was really an amazing in depth tour. Not only these beautiful sceneries, but also various introductions learned.
Taiwan finally learned that the aboriginal culture is part of its soul and also embraces them now. We can be so happy that Taiwan is a democracy now. But of course there is still space to improve. Especially the protection of the nature is important and also in the area of the tribes.
Many Taiwanese people have more or less aboriginal blood without knowing, so many of them are categorized as Han Chinese(around 95%). For example, Taiwanese president Tsai is categorized as Hakka Chinese, but Tsai actually is 3/4 Hakka and 1/4 Paiwan aboriginal(from her grandmother)...
Taiwan is so beautiful!! Especially up in the mountains! I love it. Loved this video too, so interesting to hear about all the tribes that live in the mountains. 💕💕
