What about trying to turn fantastical architecture and landscapes/settings into character designs?
This can range from turning architecture styles into a character's design, taking the atmosphere and aesthetic from any given setting and turning them into people or just turning a dark, fantastical and bloody setting into a character that look like they personifies it.
Try looking on Pinterest for cool architecture styles, settings or city/landscapes like these (fictional or non fictional) and then, well go ham!
I love watching or creating color or candy inspired characters!
Hm, maybe like, different brands of pop/soda into princesses/princes? Or something like that
1st one Petra it sounds like a good "feminine" version of Peter without losing Any edge it also means rock/stone in Greek
2. Sir. Scarlet Cooper. Scarlet for the color and Cooper as it an old last name meaning Barrel Maker.
3. Iris very simple and although not creative fits the charter well. Farrah because it sounds like fairy with the colors and shapes remind me of but also means happiness and joy with comes to mind with the hair style she has.
I like Farrah for the last one, it fits her well, especially with your description 🌱

Whenever I see these elaborate designs, I think to myself, “Damn, you really couldn’t put all that detail in 2d animation” but in illustration, you can go all out to your heart’s content!

For names, I honestly think that Peter, Beryl and Iris would work really well.
Peter seems slick and sharp to me, beryl sounds based and grounded while Iris sounds delicate and ethereal.

Some name ideas:
Petrecite or however you spell it lol- Alyn? Idk it just gives me gender neutral fantasy vibes. It also means "little rock" which I think is adorable and swanky, so do with that what you will.
Beryl- Vesta? It was kinda hard coming up with a good name honestly for her but I feel like Vesta has kinda bold vibe to it.
Iris Agate- Halina? It gives very ethereal vibes which works really well with this character. It means "light" or "sun ray" which works nicely with the rainbow glass theme.
Beautiful knight trio? You're spoiling us.
I adore all of these designs, (the fact that I am horribly biased towards armored ladies with swords has no bearing on the matter): Pietersite feels especially crisp and fresh since you rarely do more androgynous looks, Red Beryl is a grade A badass design (and the absolutely bonkers Thanos weapon is the cherry on top) with beautiful colors, and Iris Agate's "glass plate" armor is a really cool, sleek look. Thanks for helping us get through the week with some lovely designs.
My excitement for this video is matched only by my anticipation for more villainesses of your design. Hope you're hanging in there with all of the business and demands!

Same here actually! I really like working loose and refining as I go instead of using lineart. I think it suits my style a lot better, so I may do more of these in the future ☺️

The iris agate character looks like a dragonfly and I am living for it!!! I love all the designs you’ve made.
Looking at all of the other character design prompts you've done, the skies, trees, fungi, flowers, etc-- I'd love to see you turn the four seasons into characters! Maybe make them D&D Classes rather than something unified like "Knights" or "Magical Girls", it could be really freeing to allow yourself more room for character design with making them a rag-tag team of people rather than a solidified group :D
These designs, as well as all the other one's you've made, were GORGEOUS!
I've gotten some helpful tips for character design from you and I'm happy to say I've improved thanks to you!
Also, I've got some name suggestions here:
For the pietersite you could name them Mazarine, which is the name of a deep blue in French, or maybe Nakesha, which means "ruler of the blue heavens" in Sanskrit and it's another name for the Hindi deity Indra.
For the red beryl knight, I'd suggest Roisin, which is Irish for little red rose, or Bryndis, a Scandinavian name that means adorned with strong armor.
Finally for the iris agate I'd suggest Iridiana, a Greek name that means rainbow, Araceli, a Mexican name that means altar in the sky, or Amala, which means hope in Arabic.
I love Nakesha for the first one! Beautiful name 🌱

Ahhh I’m glad you admitted how long it takes you to do full illustrations! Idk if I'm slow compared to most artists, but rendering and shading (and even just laying out a nice sketch) takes time. Don't be ashamed of your process taking a little longer! A lot of us aren't trained to meet industry deadlines and such!

This is my second favorite design batch, and all of them look absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Love to see your art and you inspire me so much.
Here are the name suggestions.
Pitersite would be Max short Maxine because they give me more andro vibes and Max is pretty androgynous.
Red Barel would be Dominique because thats a badass name for a badass character. It also means lord and she gives me those vibes.
Iris Agate would be Andrea because it means dark and she gives me mischievous vibes and it has to do with the ocean and she has blues and stuff.

I will say I think my favorite part of this video is the computer / tablet background in the beginning being Thanos and a picture of gems with comic sans text that says “Gems”
I love the more sketchy pieces! I would love to see more of these looser and less polished pieces (especially if they give you some more relaxation time!)
Honestly I love they way you render like... EVERY step of your work! So this more sketchy style is great to see, since I get to still see your butter-y painting styles! You can do the more "clean" work when you have energy/wanna do something special!!!
I think for the third one Iris would work really well. Iris is the greek goddess of rainbows, communication, and messages (since she is the more strategic one, i think this will work well) or if you don’t want it to be so on the nose, you can use Arcus, which is basically the Roman version of iris :)

Oh I love all of these characters! The golds really tie them all together. I think the first ones armor is my favorite, but I love the sword on the second and the hair and corset on the third! Basically they all slay!

Labradorite - pretty much the dark version of iris agate
Rutilated quartz - impure quartz that looks rly cool
Bloodstone - self explanatory
Pyrite/Fools gold - could be a spy or someone super manipulative
Black tourmaline - really rough looking
Burmese tourmaline - REALLY pretty and dark
Scolecite - really spiky looking
Blue tiger's eye - dark version of tiger's eye. really pretty
Blue azurite - Almost velvety looking. dark but also shiny

THESE DESIGNS ARE ALL SO GORGEOUS! I think for Pietersite the names Julia, Athena, Whisper, Owen, Jessie or Raine come to mind, for Iris I think the names Victoria or Venus suit her, and for Red beryl I personally like the names Rowena, Olivia, Rose, Amelia, or Phoebe
For the pietersite one I actually thought of tracer before you mentioned her so their body type was portrayed very well!

I love these designs so much! And drawings/illustrations with a more sketchy look are my personal favorites.
The second you started designing the Iris Agate character, my brain started calling her Nyx. She looks very much like a fairy and Nyx is the name of my small fairy statue in my garden, so I think it fits!
For Red Beryl, she deserves a name that means 'courage' like the gemstone she's based off of. So I did a bit of research and found: Drea (Greek, meaning courageous), Ondrea (Slovakian, meaning courageous), and Nadetta (German, meaning courage of a bear).
And for Pietersite, I went with gender-neutral names (tho honestly Pieter would suit them too): Blayr (meaning Child of the plains, field, or battlefield), Devon (meaning A poet (didn't pick for the meaning, the name just fits)), Greer/Grier (meaning A watchful, vigilant guardian), and Peyton (meaning From the town of the soldiers and warriors).
I always love these videos of yours! Maybe next (after the villain gemstones) you could turn something into witches/wizards/spellcasters? Maybe herbs, fruits, other flowers, or something similar?

1-> Bellona which means War-like. I think it fits well with the first one, she has that warrior and war feel to her
2-> Aesira which means Brave, Powerful fighter. SHe looks like she is loyal and would stand her ground in any fight
3-> Sade which means Ray of Light. Kinda just choose this name cause of her colors and maybe her personality as that feel to it

So obviously these characters must've been named already, but I really like the agate being named Cassiopeia, taking inspo from the constellation as well as the vain queen of greek mythology, as her silhouette and shape language gives me the impression of someone who doesn't like getting dirty and is potentially incredibly vain. Still a master tactician, as people would often draw symbolism or fate from the stars.
Oh my gosh, these are gorgeous! I don't know if you're still taking name suggestions but I'd like to suggest Zori or Zara for the first because I felt like those names went with their vibes, Dagmar for the second (the name means glorious/glory and I felt like that went really well with the red beryl gemstone meaning), and Ophelia for the last one!

Also hey, what if you turned weapons into knights? I can see you doing either just general stuff like a longsword or scimitar or jian and working more off of the traditional clothing and modern fashion of the cultures they're from or doing more specific ones with those like, really pretty historical weapons people post pictures of on the internet-like, daggers with jeweled sheaths or whatever-or maybe stuff from tv shows/movies/video games and stuff, but I think you'd have fun!

First one: seems determined and brave - Kenya, Robbie, Samira, Dana, Lorance
Second: loyal and protective - Titania, Joan, Tyna, Elizabeth (Beth, Bethy, Lisa)
Third: fancy and sharp - Paolla, Charlotte, Donna, Nerissa, Karen

Other transformation ideas:
I know you did skies, but maybe you could try different types of clouds? Different planets is an obvious one, but I think different space stuff like nebulas, a black hole and the milky way could be really cool as a trio. You could try making different mermaid designs off of those plant looking sea animals (ex: corals, sea urchins and nemo's house) or into different seashells. Finally, maybe different toxic chemicals would be really interesting for villain-ish characters (you could try something gory, I know branching out of a routine helps with the creative flow).
p.s,: I do enjoy the sketchy format.

I really love the designs you made! Especially the last one... it was soooo pretty! Honestly, I don't think these design videos NEED to have finished illustrations. You had mentioned that you didn't really have a lot of time to make the drawings, but I couldn't really tell. Everything looked so nice and beautiful! I love your sketchier drawings - I feel like they have a lot of charm and personality. I also really love your editing style :) It's so fun and entertaining to watch!!
