Did you know that our Giselle will be released in cinemas worldwide! Great news for everyone who can’t come visit this romantic classic in the Netherlands (or for the Dutchies who can’t get enough of it): on 21 January 2024 Giselle will be released in cinemas all across Europe and selected countries in America, Asia and Oceania! An extra screening will take place on 1 February 2024. With Olga Smirnova as Giselle and Jacopo Tissi as Count Albrecht. You can find more info via this link: nationale.operaballet.nl/giselleballetcinema
Thank you very much for this nice video. How touching to see Olga Smirnova being happy that Jacopo Tissi joined the company. In my opinion Olga is absolutely breathtaking, a great artist and incredibly beautiful. Rachel Beaujean leads the Giselle rehearsal very confidently and sensitively. I also thought the interview with her after the rehearsal was very pleasant and intelligent. And what a lively and open attitude of Emma Mardigan showing what is inside her bag. And last but not least the pianist plays absolutely wonderful! A great company. Keep up the high level.
I wish we had gotten to see more of Mr. Ernst's class, I did his virtual class during the pandemic and still do them occasionally, his classes are fantastic. But I LOVED getting a peak into the costume department. I'd love to see more of that next year.
Thank you for this WBD, it was great. But please show us a full class next year. Like others have said; so thankful for Ernst and all the at home classes he gave us during lockdowns.
We enjoy showing something new every year during World Ballet Day! We like to share the different aspects of a rehearsal day at the Dutch National Ballet. And we are always looking for ways to give you little sneak peeks and moments with the dancers. Thank you for your feedback, we'll take it with us for next year!
Loved the way this is filmed. From the snippets of the ballet class, to what’s in your bag, to the camera lens peeking through the window of the class door, to the Giselle breakdown, to the Giselle rehearsal itself. Really fun and cool to watch! A gorgeous company! So dope! 🔥❤️👍🏾

thank you very much DNB for another wonderful WBD-stream .... olga smirnova 😍😍😍 no costumes, decorations, or orchestra required, the whole story is in her eyes and facial expressions ... (jacopo is also remarkable, of course) .... kudos & regards from germany :)
Adored this video - my daughter and I were fortunate enough to attend the opening night of Giselle - it was sublime, exquisite and emotional, with a 15 minute standing ovation at the conclusion - highlight of my trip to Amsterdam Diana Bonisch, Invercargill, New Zealand
... it is very charmingly made and put together to give an idea of the back-of-the-scene-world of your dance company. Congrats and thank you. I enjoyed it very much.
I know these talented young people are always under pressure, but what a happy company this seems to be - beautiful dancers (m and f) from all over the world. As for the rehearsal of Jacopo Lissi and Olga Smirnova under Rachel Beaujean, I will be able to see and understand so much more when I see this production streamed. PS. To dance with Olga Smirnova - if we could imagine dancing with Queen Nefertiti ...
Thank you so much for the video and the link too! At the moment i can’t find any tickets listed in Japan area but hope there will be some soon. Can’t wait ❤

Why did they not show more class this year? Felt very edited and Ernst is such a joy to watch alongside all of the wonderful dancers. Previous years we got to see more of barre and centre work!
I will be forever grateful for all the classes he posted during covid and really introduced me to this amazing company b/c that. I do agree that the class seemed too edited for me and would have preferred more class (and maybe less of the backstage scenes if time is an issue). And maybe just drop the "what's in my bag" segments ;)
Thank you for the wonderful class Het National Ballet! As a ballet lover I do enjoy the coach explaining the moves and techniques. Could I suggest you don't snippet it out next time? Thank you!
The last year's ballet class by DNB was so great so came here expecting the same but the class was way too edited and cut short. Please remember that many ballet lovers come to enjoy WBD videos to have a peek into the world's renowned ballet corp's daily class as many of us stand a slim chance to do.
We totally understand! We hope to bring something new to World Ballet Day every year. We want to show other aspects of our company and our wonderful ballet dancers and give them a chance to share their stories. We thank you for the feedback and take it with us for next year!

Is it just me or did anyone else feel the incredible chemistry between Jacopo and Olga. Omg. A match made in heaven. ❤❤❤❤❤
So much chemistry! They took the direction and ran with it, too!💜
YaY for Ernst! Those YT classes carried me through COVID times; I thought they were the best ones around.
That's so nice to hear and thanks for watching the stream! ❤️

So wonderful to get a peek! I enjoy Ernst as a teacher. Company class is my favorite part of WBD. Gorgeous music and dancers.
What a lovely class. The pianist is exquisite. That Giselle rehearsal….absolutely sublime. Thank you for this wonderful content.
Olga is soo beautiful…✨and they make such a beautiful couple as Albrecht and Giselle, bravo! 👏👏
I really enjoyed watching this video! Nice composition!
Ballet is so gracious and so beautiful. The world is such a better place, because we have ballet!
Great coaching in Giselle. Such marvelous dancers, such an extraordinary company. Thank you for sharing.

You sound bitter that Olga has left Russia.

it looks like this is not a ballet troupe, but a gypsy camp... they are not able to perform the class in sync and try to dance the classics
Смирнова потяжелела, да и Тисси не прогрессирует, увы
