Interview with Olga Smirnova: from Bolshoi Ballet to Dutch National Ballet

- Olga Smirnova, former Principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet, joined Graham Watts in conversation via Zoom from her home in Amsterdam where she is a now a Principal dancer with Dutch National Ballet.
In a long ranging discussion with Graham, she discussed her training at the Vaganova Academy in St Petersburg. Her career at the Bolshoi, her guest appearances with companies such as American Ballet Theatre and Hamburg Ballet and her current work with Dutch National Ballet.

Thank you Graham for not asking political questions regarding Olga's move to Dutch National Ballet. Those are quite sensitive questions and Olga has been asked them over and over for 2 years. Each time she did an interview and got asked those questions again I rolled my eyes. I'm sure that was a tough decision for her and we should all let her look ahead.
