Thank you for a great review ;o) I own a Cort G260 same finish as yours which I bought 5 years ago. It's an Indonesian made one. Just to let you know that the build quality is fantastic from Indonesia too. I also own a Cort G250-P, this has an extra pickup actually fitted in the bridge itself (Fishman Piezo), 4 pickups & coil tap! It's a Korean built guitar & the quality is also fantastic. For me the build quality between the Korean built guitars and those buit in Indonesia is equal ;o)
Thank you for all that useful information! I've had some good experiences with Indonesian quality as well. My usual recommendation to people is to buy an Indonesian made guitar now before the prices rise (when they realise what they SHOULD be charging us).
That's true. I should probably mention that sometime in my videos. The problem is that I think it's a common thing with most of the low-cost factories in the far east. The difference is that the workers at Cort in Korea actually managed to get their message out. You can only imagine what it's like in China..
I just bought this one second hand. Do you have any recommendations for amps that go well with this guitar? (If there is such a thing) I intend to just play by myself and ideally not too large of an amplifier. God fortsättning!
I would get a Roland Micro Cube. It small but compared to every other tiny amp that I've ever tried it sounds really really good. It will bring out the best of the G260, which to this day is my favourite electric guitar EVER :)
Is there not a screw going from the bottom of tube the bar pushes in ? I thought you push it in till it makes contact with the screw you then thread it down to the desired height next you lock it in with the Allen key on the collar
It's made in Korea, but my guess is that they are making them in Indonesia now. Check out my thoughts on Indonesian quality in my G-210 review. Thanks for watching!
Is it better than Squier Stratocaster Classic Vibe? And is it worth the extra 100€ in comparison to the G250? I would be very happy, if someone could help.
It depends on what version of the G260 you're talking about. But in general yes. Cort makes almost all of the Squier guitars, but I think the Classic Vibes are made in China. If it's made in Indonesia it's made by Cort. My version of the G260 is in my opinion beating even an American Fender in sound, quality and parts. The current version (G200DX) has much cheaper parts. And the current version of the G250 is almost identical. If you find a used G260 - buy it! :)
Yeah those allen screws that hold the saddles in place could be made of better materials. The metal is rather soft and I suppose it's very easy to ruin them and make them unturnable.
No I don't have any good solution for the trem arm. Some people have wrapped it in various materials. Tape, plastic.. Lemon oil is what's commonly used to clean wood surfaces on guitars. Try it on a not to visible part and see if you get the results you're after.
I have a Cort M600, made in Indonesia. Excellent instrument, very high quality workmanship. There are some pretty scary videos on RUclips about what goes on in the Cort factory. If these claims are true, that's not so good...
Used to have a Wikinson trem on a Framus Diablo pro guitar. Everything was fine except when the 6th and 5th string allen screws got rusty and you couldn't loosen them to adjust intonation. Also the other saddles would move around constantly changing string spacing. But yeah. The trem felt real smooth
hi, great review I'm about to purchase this guitar online, it's a rare guitar I cant find them on local stores to try one, I've seen many review it's a great sounding guitar, but I have a question, do you have any problem with the tuning lock when you use tremolo a lot? thanks, keep rolling man!
+Rido Bahar No problems at all. It has very good and solid hardware and stays in tune almost as good as a guitar with a Floyd Rose trem. I can't recommend it enough!
+Rido Bahar of course you cant do divebombs on these type of trems, that will surely pull the strings out of tune, but some shaking of the whammy for some vibrato effect(that is what these type of bridges are meant for) will definitely work:)
Yah, I know I'm a blues player, it's not like I was gonna purchase this to play some kind of vai screaming waw, the thing is some cheap crap I tried lost tune on quarter note down, that's why I asked. Unfortunately I couldn't find this model near my place, sad because they made it here in Indonesia, so I went for Pacifica 112vmx instead.
I'm seeing one for $75 shipped , black with strings setup ... It would cost me $30 for a setup ... but I have too many guitars ...oh sigh Is the black also swamp ash ?
+Siga Kire My uncle is borrowing it at the moment so I can't give you any exact numbers. However it's one of the lightest guitars I have ever tried. Much lighter than your regular Basswood, Mahogany or Alder. That's what Swamp Ash is famous for and it really makes it an ergonomic guitar.
+SwedishGuitarNerd Exactly. That's the beauty of the swamp ash - very light but very nice musical tone. Swamp ash guitars are at the opposite end of the weight spectrum compared to very heavy mahogany Les Pauls. I like my Les Paul, but Man is it heavy.
SwedishGuitarNerd Yes , it is a nice bridge. can you show me how you setup your bridge? i also have a cort g260, but when start using the tremolo, tuning goin wrong.
Unfortunately this G260 with the natural swamp ash appears to have been discontinued. There are still some available in shops, but I suspect this will become a sought after collectors guitar once it's completely sold out. Generally the prices of Cort guitars are rising due to the high quality, and they are now launching special editions sponsored by musicians. I'm going to try to get one of these G260s while they are still available.
+SwedishGuitarNerd Well I managed to find one of these in the rare black version with dull gray pickguard and Mighty Mite pickups. Found it in a used guitar shop for $180. Condition is best described as 'good' - some scratches on the black open pore wood (swamp ash is rather soft) and on the pickguard but otherwise everything appears to be fine. Needs a bit of TLC, so a good clean and waxing, lemon oil on the fretboard, new set of Ernie Ball Super Slinkys, set up the action etc, and I think she'll be a fine guitar.
It is one fantastic guitar. The swamp ash is VERY soft. At least what they used in these guitars. Mine looks all beat up in the back and I haven't even been rough to it.
There was a 260 with Natural finish available in Europe. But with different pick ups and hardware.Sorry I'm so late to the table with this. Also got a G254 for $209.00 back in '05 and G290 FAT two years ago for about $437.00.
Hello man.Very nice review.I have the same Cort G260.Its a dream guitar for me.The only thing that i struggle with is tremolo arm and body finish.I'd be very thankfull if you can help me up how to eliminate the wobble in trem arm and what to use for cleaning/treating/conditioning the body and neck.
They are very similar instruments. In my opinion the Cort has better pickups and a higher quality trem that will keep you in tune. The necks and feel of the two are identical.
@rkl08551 Det med! Perfekt intonerad och låg stränghöjd direkt från kartong. Hade den haft ett annat märkes dekal på huvudet så hade den kostat multum.

This Cort is great guitar! I have it for few years now, and is my first choice. Wonderful quality and not expensive :D
It's truly is an amazing instrument! And insanely cheap!
It is too heavy
Sorry for the late reply! Same old, same old! :) Cool review, thanks for posting it! ;)

I had an Ibanez trem that did that (Edge Pro?), but my version of this Wilkindon trem doesn't have it.
I feel a light temptation. You know what the GAS is... I own expensive American guitars but when I find nice cheap ones I can't resist.
One can never have to many guitars!
It's made in Korea, but my guess is that they are making them in Indonesia now. Check out my thoughts on Indonesian quality in my G-210 review. Thanks for watching!
@FrancisLaversMUSIC2 Thank you for watching them! Merry Christmas!!

Great guitar, great review.. Greetings from Serbia :D

You've made a good choice!
My uncle takes care of it for me at the moment. Now I'm all Squier!

@AnonymousThe1337 Thanks and a very Merry Christmas (kind of late but still) to you as well!
hi, great review

If it's the 260 it should be swamp ash. There was one with rosewood made in the same period as mine. You can never have too many guitars 😀
Could you tell me what the weight of your Cort G260 guitar is? I have just got mine which seems too light.
+Siga Kire My uncle is borrowing it at the moment so I can't give you any exact numbers. However it's one of the lightest guitars I have ever tried. Much lighter than your regular Basswood, Mahogany or Alder. That's what Swamp Ash is famous for and it really makes it an ergonomic guitar.

is that wilkinson vs50 ii brigde?
Yes I believe that's the one. A very solid and tuning stable tremolo.
SwedishGuitarNerd Yes , it is a nice bridge. can you show me how you setup your bridge?
i also have a cort g260, but when start using the tremolo, tuning goin wrong.
@@Sinyo37ism I don't still have mine, but I recommend watching any type of Floyd Rose tremolo setup, since it's the same principal.
@TheJacksonMaster I had to match the walls and the guitar :)
@snickersfan15 Thanks for watching and for all your comments! That's what keeps me going!
Can you review that other guitar that's always in the background with the silver looking design on the sides
They move ;o) I own a Corean but it's over, there are Indonesian and maybe Chinese. For them the cheapest building the best business...

+David Franklin You really should! I have yet to try a guitar that's better than this one.

jag har samma gitarr köpt 2005 från Mbörsen ...älskar den..perfekt setup från fabrik
Is it still a good guitar for today's standards? I'dlike to pick up guitar again, but I sold my Les Paul Studio
dGladiator It certainly is! Especially if you can get one used. The newer versions are not as good in my opinion.
SwedishGuitarNerd That's a bummer. The old model is nowhere to be found in my area.

Do you know where it's made? China? Korea?
drmarkreuter korea and Indonesia made it. But i feel made Indonesia's better than korea
Cool pants man ! :D
Hey is cort g260dx a good guitar? Or should I go for Pacifica 112j?
They are very similar instruments. In my opinion the Cort has better pickups and a higher quality trem that will keep you in tune. The necks and feel of the two are identical.
Hey man, in how many pieces is the body?
+Kraken546 Mine was a two-piece. I'm not sure about the current version.
+Kraken546 mine has 2-piece body as well.
Thank you guys
are you stoned swedie?
12 inch radius is not flat radius,
Khalazia Faqih It is when you're comparing a guitar to a Fender Strat. As I said that I was going to do in this video.
The radius is 12". That I'm sure of.
@SwedishGuitarNerd :)
@rkl08551 Det med! Perfekt intonerad och låg stränghöjd direkt från kartong. Hade den haft ett annat märkes dekal på huvudet så hade den kostat multum.
Hey, a cort g260 vs squier affinity
My opinion is that this version of the Cort G260 is better than an American Fender.
Resumen: ehhhhhh ehhhhhhhhhhmmm…. ehhhh jajaajaja
@SwedishGuitarNerd Hahah :D
Not lemon oil on maple fretboards!!!
Your hands are not sync each other. Sorry to say that. Thanks for the review.
toca mierda toca ...play the guitar for cris seis
Talks about tonewood - > unsubscribed
Great guitar though.
But tonewooders = flat earthers
can't understand ur accent.
