This episode brought up so many memories of my past and journey to where I am today. Being half Asian, not knowing any English when my family settled in the US, targeted as "the enemy" in elementary school and endured other school kids tying me up with my friend of German background and was (play) "executed". From another episode he asks us "who do I want to be." Everything Tu Lam shared, true courage, strength, and never loosing sight of gratitude in all things/ all experiences as that is what tempers us into who we are today. Thank you.

The teacher was out of the classroom and suddenly had seen this boy with an umbrella poking at it, the teacher panicked and got upset,started scolding the boy. Growing up in Texas in the late 70's and 80's. Being one of a handful of Hispanics in the whole town. Poor. Immigrant. Back then it was ok to make fun of the Mexican.
