So weird not hearing the old siren
CHP now sounds like every generic department...🫤
@@masterchifpl12Ngl that old siren sounded weird from the jump, just cause it stands out don’t mean it sounds appealing. Maybe to some but not the majority, hence why whoever is in charge of the fleet decided to change the sirens.
@@pullovr the imiation Scientific Prototypes Mark IIV by Whelen that CHP use(d)s had great travel distance but poor penetration power. Default Whelen tones; as they are using here and now, have both poor penetration power and poor travel distance.
The official explanation by CHP is that; the change; this is due to them moving the "the CORE" (Whelen CORE). This is a very interesting explanation as; given knowledge of the abilities of the CORE and Whelen's other siren controllers, how would this prevent the upload and usage of the tones CHP already uses? Clearly Whelen was already capable and able to create the siren and upload it to existing controllers; how are they unable - or more so - unwilling to do so with the CORE?
@@nolovefordivision2 I'm sure if the largest state police agency in the United States demanded their classic siren tones to be added in for the contract, the manufacturer will find a way to custom make it.

Can barely tell its chp without the iconic siren
Wish we had the old siren still
NO WAY! You got the polar 2020 responding!
What a beauty
I wish we had the Old Siren
Heyyyy nice catch! The new polar bears are my favorite looking of all the CHP units rolled out the past three years
I drive those new explorers a lot and I must say they're extremely uncomfortable and slow. The twin turbo is the only model that gets up and goes, the rest are slower than the crown vics
Yours must have a problem then. Lol
@@polarbear8954Yea Fr, lmao. The crown Vic has a 0-60 of 8.2 seconds 💀
Wow!! Nice!
Wow😮 that’s so cool!!!!
Great catch!
Wow super catching😊
nice catch! I think thats a first. hate that system tho
Talked to a couple officers about it. They said they preferred the Rockwell Collins over the new Core. But the change has to happen because Whelen doesn’t support the old system they used anymore and they need to start transitioning to newer equipment.
I saw one of the new polar bears on traffic control
Nice catch...........
Fire catches brotha 🤙
Good video, thanks. The only thing I'd do different on the CHP Polar Bear is on the bumper/push bars, I would combine a blue with the red flash, and then on the side view mirrors pointing forward and a 45 degree angle outward, I'd add the LED red/blue flash.
I don’t think anyone asked
